All Liars Shall Be Silenced!
Ps 63:11 EXB
Ps 52: 1 ¶ «To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.» Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah
Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
In today’s reading, we see God’s view of lying, treacherous people. Sure looks like the US political arena today, compromise, and hands full of innocent blood.
Yet, God, through the apostle Paul, in his letter to Titus, so many years ago, faced the same problem with a people from the island of Crete. Seems these people, Cretians, had a culture of laziness and lies: his advice on how to deal with them?
Rebuke them sharply!
1 Tim 2:1 Shows our responsibility to pray for government leaders, and this, I do, daily:
¶ I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Yet, notice the outcome of this prayer, God’s expected result: v4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Jesus, has not changed. He is still a friend of sinners, and His mission is still to seek and save the lost, praying that all people might come to repentance, truth, and salvation.
Yet, in today’s reading, we hear David believing God to kill wicked and deceitful, murderous people, to rid the earth of them! Obviously, as Christians, we are believing for them to repent, come to Jesus, and find forgiveness, for God is love, and Jesus came to seek and save the lost…yet if they live by the sword, they will surely die by the sword!
Seems we have two forms of government working continually in the earth.
Both are established by God, and it is always the will of God, that people walk in honesty, honor, and truth. The three branches of American government, are designed to provide checks and balances on each other, but when they fail, there is an eternal government that will quickly rise to speak into the earth.
That’s us, the church, and we are to be holy, and to speak truth in love, to see folks turn from destruction, to the love of God, and eternal life.
I believe Paul was not simply venting in his letter to Titus, but was actually speaking by the Holy Spirit, telling Titus to rebuke laziness and lies. Why? Because all liars will become eternally separated from God, in a place called hell. He does not want people to go there, even crooked, conniving, politicians!
So, when the political system becomes corrupt, and the judicial system fails, God’s church will never fail, for we have received a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
As liars increase, so does the volume on the voice of God through five fold ministry gifts, and there arises a battle cry of righteousness, where servants of God, wield the sword of the Spirit, to severe iniquity off of nations, administrations, and corrupt policies, by the Word of God, spoken, that gets demonstrated in signs, wonders, and miracles, revealing and cleansing communities, governments, judicial systems, whether they like it or not.
The entrance of His Word brings light, and those secret things, wrought through secret societies and closed door boardrooms that are evil, and out of alignment with God’s kingdom, get exposed, as we the church pray.
So, Let’s Pray:
‘Father, reveal to us, the hidden things that must be exposed, lies, treachery, betrayals of sacred trusts, by those who are supposed to be serving our best interests, and Yours through their leadership. Reveal truth, and remove this wickedness from our land. Purge, cleanse, forgive, reveal, and cause us to blast every demon spirit these are bowing to, either knowingly or unknowingly. Arise, church, Arise, and take your place in boldness, courage, purity, strength, authority, holiness, and truth that makes free, in the name and authority of Jesus, King of all Kings, Lord of every governer and President, Creator of the Universe. Amen’
Matt 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
So we are living in the last days, and if we were to base our faith upon what we see in the news Media, life would be constant turmoil and stress, for: Pr 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
No, as Christians, we must be people of the Word, for Ps 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
Our thoughts must be pure Phil 4: 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
So what happens to a man in politics? I believe that many a person enters the politcal arena, with pure intentions, sincere in their desire to contribute to a better nation, determined to do right, and provide honest, strong, stable leadership, to countries that are often facing some degree of chaos, or another. The job of leadership is to bring order out of chaos, and strong leaders should honestly be trying to do what is best, for all the people they are called to serve, both rich and poor alike.
Yet, let’s consider this thought: What if a leader, makes a sincere decision, that they believe is right for the country, but that is not fully in line with the Word or Spirit of God for that nation?
What happens?
Well, no matter what government you live under politically, there are always two forms of government under God, the political one, and the church of our Lord Jesus Christ, exercising God’s authority through prayer.
So we have the nations of man rising up, in conflict with one another, influenced in many cases by demonic principalities and powers, and Holy Spirit then alerts intercessors to pray, and stop evil works in the earth.
The Kingdom of God arises against satanic rule and oppression.
So what about the politicians?
Well, after the church prays, and smashes mind blinding spirits from their lives, God pours out His spirit on all flesh, and we discover that:
Pr 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
The political leader, after having being prayed for, has God deal with his or her heart, and they realize that though they may have been sincere, they may have been sincerely wrong.
If they are wise, they humble themselves before God, and change their mind, and set a correct course for their leadership, before a holy God.
When it looks like they have changed their mind, generally, the media screams:’Liar, liar, pants on fire!’ but those that are wise fear not the media, nor any man, but God alone, to whom each of us, must one day give an account.
My concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.”
― Abraham Lincoln
“I’m a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn’t have the heart to let him down.”
― Abraham Lincoln
We who know Jesus, have true friend who will never let us down: Pr 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Jesus is that friend that sticks closer than a brother, the one who truly loves and understands us, He is the one we must ultimately be faithful to, no matter what other men say or do!
So, to answer my own question: ‘Are all politicians liars?’
My answer is this: Depends only upon their motive of heart. If they have a sincere desire to do right, and are humble, they will remain teachable before God, and will be willing to change their mind, when they discover the error of their ways.
In my mind, this does not make them liars, rather, men and women of God!
What do you think?
Let’s Pray:
‘Father, help me to do right, and to pray for every person, holding any type of governemental, political, military, or judicial office, that You might lead them and guide them in all truth. Grant us light, integrity, courage, strength, health, and wisdom to live fully for You, and Your interests in our nation, bringing your kingdom, in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, Amen’
