How to Go to Hell

Rev 22: 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

go-to-hell

The word sorcerers used here is pharmakos (far-mak-os’ )

the same as 5332; ; adj

AV-sorcerer 1; 1

1) pertaining to magical arts

sorcerors

Another version states: pharmakos is ‘one who administers mind altering potions’.

Phew! Opens the door to a whole lot of people in today’s society.

Obviously, it means witch doctors and medicine men, but now we have the drug dealer on the corner, the one who runs the crack house across town.

But what about the tavern or bar owner, the bartender that serves alcohol to drunks, making merchandise of their addiction. Of course it must include the crooked doctors and pharmacists, that prescribe ‘recreational pharmaceuticals’, drugs to attempt to medicate hurting folks who actually need God, not another prescription. These people, will not enter the kingdom of God.

Then there are ‘whoremongers’ pornos por’-nos This is the word from which we get the modern word pornography, or porno movies. It describes: 1) a man who prostitutes his body to another’s lust for hire 2) a male prostitute 3) a man who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse, a fornicator. Looks like the seductive lure of pornography, the immorality of the party scene, and actual prostitution, will keep a person out of heaven.

pornography1

I think the terms murderers, and liars are self explanatory, these have no part in the kingdom of God, makes me think of the end of crooked politicians, businessman, and now I am discovering, supposed ministers of the gospel.

“and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” Those that lie, and love the result of a lie, will go to hell.

liars go to hell

Now, let’s look at the actual definition of ‘idolater’ here. 1) a worshipper of false gods, an idolater

idolatry

1a) used of any one even Christian, participant in any way in the worship of the heathen, esp. one who attends their sacrificial feasts and eats of the remains of offered victims”

https://chrisaomministries.com/2015/08/05/gods-opinion-of-abortion/

This sounds horrible right? Yet, now we discover that aborted human fetuses are being processed and added to make-up, and are possibly used in the food and supplement industry: http://www.skepticfiles.org/mys2/deadbaby.htm

2) a covetous man as a worshipper of Mammon

Money makes a tremendous tool and servant, but a lousy god. It must be mastered, and governed by the Lordship of Jesus and leadership of the Holy Spirit: Worshipped, it will drag a person to hell.

I have written much on the topic of riches and wealth, because I am convinced that God wants to prosper us financially, His way. https://chrisaomministries.com/2016/02/26/money-simply-makes-more-of-you/

These things I mentioned, are ways to go to hell, but Jesus loves you, and came to forgive – His mission forever will be to seek and save the lost: https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2014/11/10/the-gospel-the-power-of-god/

Lets pray

Let’s Pray:

‘Father, purify me of all my lying ways and deeds. Have mercy upon me, and forgive me where I have given myself to these things. Deliver me from the power of them, and cleanse me of all my uncleanness’s. In your name I pray Lord Jesus. Amen’

god-business

This is a message I preached at one of our leadership breakfasts. I believe it’s message is rather timely for America. One by one, we need to choose to do right, for God’s sake alone, and this country and yours… will change….

Illegal vs Immoral – Wrong vs Right!

Hey, I didn’t do anything illegal” is a statement I have heard out of the mouths of certain business leaders.

Remember, we have been adopted into a royal family, we have now become children of the most High God through Jesus, kings and priests unto Him!

royalty

We are no longer merely governed by the laws of the land in which we live, but also by the courts of heaven, where truth, mercy and holiness reside.

In many cases, I would have to agree, these people operated in the confines of the laws of the land. Yet, what about the laws of God? In trying to survive in today’s ‘jungle warfare’, that we are forced to compete in as business leaders, did we find ourselves lying, cheating, stealing, or violating sacred trusts, in order to make a buck?

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams

moral

I think about Ananias and Sapphira, (Acts 5) who were struck dead for lying to the Holy Spirit, in the presence of a man of God, anointed by God to raise up His church.

Yet, let’s break this down into a modern day contract negotiation. It would be fair in contractconstruction, to take bids or estimates from vendors, suppliers, and contractors on a project, compile the bids, add an acceptable profit and overhead, and submit the completed bid to the client.

Contracts are then issued and performed. When the work was performed, the vendors or suppliers would then invoice according to their initial approved estimates, and we would pay them, based upon the percentage of work completed. If there were additions or subtractions to the contract, these are documented, and suppliers are paid accordingly.

This, however competitive it might become, is honest business.

Yet, here are a couple of scenarios that are not only common in the business world, but in many cases have become, ‘the law of the jungle’.

jungle

Let’s just say for instance, that I want to make more on the electrical portion of the job, so I tell my electrician the amount of the other two bids, telling him to match the lowest bid, or he does not get the job. This is unfair, in that it is now a corrupt bidding process, for I have immediately disqualified the other two bidders by secretly disclosing their numbers to my buddy.

Or, I have been awarded the contract, and I have so much money allocated for each trade or portion of the work, and I then ‘shop’ the bid by lying to contractors, saying: ‘I only have $5000.00 into this project for electrical, can you do it for this, and we will make it up on the next one.”

When perhaps, acceptable profit and overhead is 20-25%, and I actually have $10,000.00 allocated for the work. The honest way to do this, is to simply ask contractors, “How much are you willing to do this job for?” and let them bid it fairly.

In a free market economy, competition will keep the bids on track.

This scenario, is exactly what Ananais and Sapphira did.

Now, let’s say, that the job goes well, and I am invoiced by my suppliers, but I tell them, that ‘we ran into some additional expenses on this job, and we are all having to settle on 90cents on the dollar.’ In other words, I get paid the full amount of the contract, but pay my suppliers 90cents on the dollar, and pocket the remainder. This is lying, cheating, and stealing.

Let’s look at Ananaias and Sapphira for a second:

Acts 5: ¶ But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

servant

I have a picture come to mind, for all you theologians out there, of one of the Levitical high priests, perhaps an Old Testament prophet, who saw the new covenant God was about to make with all humanity through Jesus. How the law, with all its holy ordinances and principals would be fully satisfied in Jesus, and how all the punishment a sin sick humanity deserved, would be poured out upon this One, the Lamb of God, and how God our Father, would receive His sacrificial death as an atonement for our sins, and that after He had raised Jesus from the dead, how God could now pour out love, and mercy and blessing upon anyone who believed. Perhaps this man had spent his entire life consecrating Himself to God’s laws and service in the temple, well aware of God’s holiness. Perhaps He cried out the throne, knowing in the future that a people totally undeserving were now going to enter into the covenant he had given his life to uphold, and from the depths of his heart he cried: ‘God, forsake not Your Holiness!

And God heard, and performed a precedent setting example in the courts of heaven – sin would still be judged, and unfortunately for Ananias and Saphira that day, their lies, cost them their lives.

These two did what is common business in the United States today. They sold a piece of land, and then had a private meeting, to discuss what they were going to do with the money. They decided that because of the big revival going on at the church, that they ought to make an offering at the temple because it was the politically correct thing to do:

Ac 4:34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

Others, touched by the Spirit of God were doing it, so they decided to join the noble, God fearing community, and give into the gospel.

Yet, they decided to try and make themselves look good at church, while padding their pockets with a nice little profit.

Funny thing about sin, it costs more than you were willing to pay, and generally takes you further than you were willing to go.

Notice, in Acts 5:2 how: they did not have to give the entire purchase price of the land in the offering.

They could have simply declared how much they were going to give, and placed that amount in the offering, and gone away from the meeting, blessed of God, and favored of man.

Yet, like many business people I have met, they told one story, but lived another.

It cost them their lives.

fear-of-the-lord

Pr 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

How many lies do we have to tell, before we become liars? Just one.

How much do we have to steal, before we become a thief? Just once.

How often can we accept a bribe or shop bids, before we become a cheat? Just once.

Whatever happened to sin?

I wrote an article on this title, that became controversial: https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2015/04/24/whatever-happened-to-sin/

Seems discussion of sin in the church, is not longer politically correct, yet the gospel is this:

1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

If the apostle Paul could call himself the chief of all sinners, how much more I, and you, before a holy God.

The gospel, or good news, is that Jesus Christ died upon the cross, to pay for our sins. He will forgive, but only if we humbly, honestly ask Him, with the intent of going our way and sinning no more.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I love this verse that I describe this way: If you sin, immediately tell Jesus, and ask for His forgiveness. When you do, He will hear, and He will forgive you, and give you strength and grace to not do it again, and wisdom to know what to do next. He, in His amazing love, will cleanse you from the your filth, and will even make the impossible possible, in mending the unmendable, fixing the unfixable, cleaning up the mess we made.
grace-teaches

This is repentance. This is the cross. This is grace. This is the love of God.

Perhaps you are in this place today:

You have been a mover and shaker, trying to get things done in this brutal world we call the business world. Yet, your words have become lies, and truth is no longer the bedrock upon which your life is built.

1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

Amplified Bible (AMP)

13 For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not [a]adjusted and [b]adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to [c]a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.

way-out

Now, this verse is written to those who are enduring temptation or trial.

The people I am speaking today, have already blown it, and have sinned, yet unlike Annanias and Sapphira, you are still alive.

God is love. He is merciful, and though there may be brutal consequences to your sin, you are alive, and He will walk with you as you bear them, and more importantly, He is not done with you, for there is a fate far worse than death.

There is a very real, eternal place, called hell, and Jesus and I are working very hard to see that you don’t have to go there.

Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

In a book, entitled ‘A divine revelation of Hell’, a lady claims to have been taken by Jesus into hell, and shown around. Everyone knows Him there, for He sent them there:

Re 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

His heart, is always to seek and save the lost, but if His offer of forgiveness and restoration is rejected, He only has two other options: 1. You can die, your life cut short because of your sin, but your soul saved that you might make heaven, instead of hell. 2. You may eternally reject His blood, and refuse to change your ways, and in that case, you will go to hell.

liars go to hell

In one account in hell, the woman witnessed a man in a prison cell, tormented in flames, screaming in pain. He saw Jesus, and cried: “Jesus, give me one more chance. You know I will do better this time!” Jesus looked at him, with eyes of steel, and said: “You are still a liar, even here!”

There is a day of judgment, where we will appear before Jesus, alone. No excuses, every word and action of our life on complete display. No one to blame, but ourselves. What we do this day, can prepare us for that day.

Run for your life!

Leave people, places and things that corrupt you. Choose truth, holiness, and honesty before God, at all costs, no matter how much money is involved, or what people might think.

How much is eternal life worth?

eternal life

No one can keep your individual appointment with God on that day, but you, yourself.

Make a decision, to watch your words and actions, today. All we have is today. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is only a dream. Work for your God given dream, but live, in truth, today. His name is ‘I AM’, and Now, faith is. He is an ever-present help in time of need, and we all need Him.

Before we pray, I give you the following story:

Who was United States Senator Edmund G. Ross of Kansas? I suppose you could call him a “Mr. Nobody.” No law bears his name. Not a single list of Senate “greats” mentions his service. Yet when Ross entered the Senate in 1866, he was considered the man to watch. He seemed destined to surpass his colleagues, but he tossed it all away by one courageous act of conscience.

Let’s set the stage.

Conflict was dividing our government in the wake of the Civil War. President Andrew Johnson was determined to follow Lincoln’s policy of reconciliation toward the defeated South. Congress, however, wanted to rule the downtrodden Confederate states with an iron hand.

Congress decided to strike first. Shortly after Senator Ross was seated, the Senate introduced impeachment proceedings against the hated President. The radicals calculated that they needed thirty-six votes, and smiled as they concluded that the thirty-sixth was none other than Ross’. The new senator listened to the vigilante talk. But to the surprise of many, he declared that the president “deserved as fair a trial as any accused man has ever had on earth.” The word immediately went out that his vote was “shaky.” Ross received an avalanche of anti-Johnson telegrams from every section of the country. Radical senators badgered him to “come to his senses.”

The fateful day of the vote arrived. The courtroom galleries were packed. Tickets for admission were at an enormous premium.

As a deathlike stillness fell over the Senate chamber, the vote began. By the time they reached Ross, twenty-four “guilties” had been announced. Eleven more were certain. Only Ross’ vote was needed to impeach the President. Unable to conceal his emotion, the Chief Justice asked in a trembling voice, “Mr. Senator Ross, how vote you? Is the respondent Andrew Johnson guilty as charged?” Ross later explained, at that moment, “I looked into my open grave. Friendships, position, fortune, and everything that makes life desirable to an ambitions man were about to be swept away by the breath of my mouth, perhaps forever.” Then, the answer came — unhesitating, unmistakable: “Not guilty!” With that, the trial was over. And the response was as predicted.

A high public official from Kansas wired Ross to say: “Kansas repudiates you as she does all perjurers and skunks.” The “open grave” vision had become a reality. Ross’ political career was in ruins. Extreme ostracism, and even physical attack awaited his family upon their return home.

One gloomy day Ross turned to his faithful wife and said, “Millions cursing me today will bless me tomorrow…though not but God can know the struggle it has cost me.” It was a prophetic declaration. Twenty years later Congress and the Supreme Court verified the wisdom of his position, by changing the laws related to impeachment.

Ross was appointed Territorial Governor of New Mexico. Then, just prior to his death, he was awarded a special pension by Congress. The press and country took this opportunity to honor his courage which, they finally concluded, had saved our country from crisis and division.

Jon Johnston, Courage – You Can Stand Strong in the Face of Fear, 1990, SP Publications, pp. 56-58.

You can make daily courageous decisions to tell the truth, no matter what others are doing.

Lets pray

Let’s pray:

‘Father, I come before you today, asking for mercy. Where I have lied, cheated, and stolen, please forgive me. Father, change me, restore me to integrity, honesty, truth, holiness, and true righteousness before You today. Please eliminate from my life people, places and things that would cause me to sin against You today, and bring into my life, people of honor, truth, faith, that I can be accountable to. You see the horrible consequences my sin has wrought, and only You can fix the messes I have made. I give all of these to You, and ask You for wisdom to know what to do, in each of them. Thank you for sparing my life, and giving me a second chance. Please let me do right in this..in Your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen.’

Gossip

Trusting God instead of people sounds good in theory, but is brutal during tough times of adversity and controversy.

strife-of-tongues
Sometimes, the best counsel in controversy, is that of brother Kenneth Hagin, ‘When persecuted, let your response be: No attack, no defense. Let love cover the gossip and controversy. If they are right, correct yourself, and go on. If they are wrong, let God deal with them, and He your defense.”

Easily said, but not so easily accomplished!

Lies, insinuations, libel, slander – HURT!

You are doing your best to obey God, love the world, be an instrument of healing and expansion for the kingdom of God, and then BAM! You learn of some dirt spoken about you, that is often so evil, it takes your breath away.

Well, the devil is called, the accuser of the brethren for a reason. He is evil!

Don’t get proud, or self-righteous. We all came from dirt (Adam), and were born and conceived in sin.

Proverbs 13:10

Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom

pride

Though we have become the righteousness of God in Christ, children of the most high, we all have flesh.
Flesh cannot cast out flesh!

If we enter into offense and strife, we enter into the devils playground:
devils-playground

James 3:16

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

This is not how we must live!
Chasing gossip is like trying to nail Jello to the wall. You can get a nail in it, but it just makes a bigger mess.

Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places

So how do we win?

Well, here is how I am doing it.

  1. Acknowledge the pain the breach of trust has caused.

Denial is not a river in Egypt, and doesn’t help heal, nor increase the kingdom of God.
denial-river-in-egypt

When bad things have been done and said about us, take them to our Father in heaven, and cry the tears you need to. He knows, He cares, He loves, and He will heal you, and correct them if your heart is right. This  is not easy, but will always produce a trip to the cross, to die yet another death to self.

Romans 8:13

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

  1. Lift up the shield of faith, and the shield of favor.

Ephesians 6:16

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
shield-of-faith

Notice here, that the shield of faith will do you no good, unless YOU TAKE IT!

Isaiah 54:17 (AMP)

17 But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.
God will vindicate, and stop the accuser of the brethren. Weapons WILL be formed, but they will not succeed, if you trust in Jesus and TAKE the shield of faith.

If you do not pray, and do not lift up the word of God to stop demonic forces operating through the minds and lives of people, this mess can go on for a very long time…

Yet, in order to fully understand this attack, you need to see it for what it is: it is an attack against the kingdom of God.

When we walk with God, He gives us favor with people. This favor comes because He loves us, and to build His kingdom.

When satan sees this, he fears us, so he tries to stop us.

His ABC‘s are Accusation, Blame and Criticism. The insidious realm of rumor, slander, and character assignation by insinuation….

insinuation

It is an attack upon your honor, your promotion, your prosperity, and your favor.

Psalm 5:12 For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield

Well, Chris, if am not supposed to fight with people, what AM I supposed to do?
sanctity

The shield of faith is only one weapon in the armor of God, there is also a sword, which is the word of God. (Pretty good weapon too, it is the only weapon Jesus used against satan himself in Matt 4: IT IS WRITTEN!)

sword-flame

Warrior: We are to lift up our shield and sword, and take the battle to the enemy!

Enough teaching, let’s do this now:

Let’s Pray:

‘Father, I hurt. You see what has been done, said, insinuated against me. I forgive them. Now please heal my heart, and give me Your grace to love them, and to overcome evil with good. I take the shield of faith, and choose to declare that No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and that ever tongue risen up against me, shall be shown to be in error, as I deliberately trust you to vindicate me. Father, restore to me, Your favor. I bind every evil spirit arrayed against me today, and stand as Your child, in Your power, in Your kingdom today, with my eyes upon You and Your leadership to me. Jesus, I trust You to show me what to do, and how to walk in Your wisdom, to see Your kingdom advance today. Amen.

Lord Jesus, you promised to never leave me nor forsake me, and that You are my good shepherd, and that I would hear your voice today. Holy Spirit, speak to me what I need to Do, and help me to do it, in your name I pray Lord Jesus. Amen.
Pray, and obey Holy Spirit today!

Good
God is good, kind, and remember, He is love!

Perhaps He cried out the throne, knowing in the future that a people totally undeserving were now going to enter into the covenant he had given his life to uphold, and from the depths of his heart he cried: ‘God, forsake not Your Holiness!”

Chris Karen Walsh's photo.

Before we pray, I give you the following story:

ed deWho was United States Senator Edmund G. Ross of Kansas? I suppose you could call him a “Mr. Nobody.” No law bears his name. Not a single list of Senate “greats” mentions his service. Yet when Ross entered the Senate in 1866, he was considered the man to watch. He seemstined to surpass his colleagues, but he tossed it all away by one courageous act of conscience.

Lies!

Lies
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
One of the names given to satan is the ‘father of lies’.

From the beginning of creation, satan has lied, in the deception of Eve, to the deception of mankind, generation upon generation, of lies, designed to maintain his rule over the minds of men.

Jesus said it this way:
Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

I would not tell one lie to save the souls of all the world. John Wesley

We see this ‘father of lies’ described throughout Scripture:
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Joh 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

We know that Jesus is the way the truth and the life.He cannot lie.

Nu 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
no lie
God cannot lie! His Word is true, and so should His people be.

1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Re 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

A lie has no legs. It requires other lies to support it. Tell one lie and you are forced to tell others to back it up. Stretching the truth won’t make it last any longer. Those that think it permissible to tell white lies soon grow colorblind.
Austin O’Malley.

1Ti 4: 1 ¶ Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

This is the last days! Finding truth among men, can be a challenging task, but it must be done. As we come closer to Jesus, and begin to walk in His Word and his power, hearts of people around us are revealed, and must always love people, but if there is a decision between any person, and the truth of God’s Word, we must choose the Word, and lovingly separate ourselves from certain people.

Hell is a real place. God never designed it for people, rather for satan and his minions:

Mt 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
hell for devils

No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar.  A. Lincoln

Yet, it is clear many people will go there. I repeat a story, I read in a book, ‘A Divine Revelation of Hell’ where a sister in the Lord, claims Jesus took her to hell. In hell, walking with Jesus, she saw and heard a man in fiery cell, in torment, cry out to Jesus, and say: “Lord, give me one more chance, you know I will do better this time!”, The Lord looked at this person, with eyes of steel and replied: ‘You are still a liar, even here!’

Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
dont hell

Eternity is real, and even if people choose not to believe, this very word, will be remembered in their life, forever.

From the French Enlightenment essayist, Michel de Montaigne, based on a proverb traced to the fourth century church father Jerome:

Lying is indeed an accursed vice. We are men, and we have relations with one another only by speech. If we recognized the horror and gravity of an untruth, we should more justifiably punish it with fire than any other crime. I commonly find people taking the most ill-advised pains to correct their children for their harmless faults, and worrying them about heedless acts which leave no trace and have no consequences. Lying — and in a lesser degree obstinacy — are, in my opinion, the only faults whose birth and progress we should consistently oppose. They grow with a child’s growth, and once the tongue has got the knack of lying, it is difficult to imagine how impossible it is to correct it.

On the Father Front, Winter, 1992-93, p. 4

If you are a liar, stop! Each day, one day at a time, decide to tell the truth, and keep your word. No matter how humbling, how foolish you may appear, no matter what it may cost you in this life, it is worth it, in light of eternity.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

promises kept
2Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

crown of righteousness

Let’s pray:
‘Father, forgive me for lying to you, and to others. Help me, from this day forward, to tell the truth, whatever it costs. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Backstabbers!

Backstabbers!

backstab

Ps 28:2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

behind back

Ever felt like the psalmist? Betrayed, treacherous people, who smile to your face, but plot your destruction behind your back? They say one thing to you, but do quite the opposite! If you are any kind of red blooded human, I’m sure you felt like David, and minimally wanted to settle them down with a good old fashioned school yard brawl.
school yard

Well, there is a higher road than this, the way.

His name is Jesus, and His way is love. To forgive them, bless them, and to pray for them.
way1

It is one thing to tell God on them, and tell Him how you feel, and cry out for His protection and vindication, but then LOVE THEM!

Brutal word huh?

Mt 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Only God can give love like that, grace to overcome evil with good. To do this, with treacherous, backstabbing, enemies will take guts and courage, that comes not from this world.

forgiveness
If you are like me, may take you a bunch of skipped meals, countless hours over in the Holy Ghost, tears at a depth you did not think you could go to, and months and in some cases years of anguished prayer over people that have continually done me wrong.

As a Christian, I gave up my right to hate, I have a right to one thing, the cross!
cross cry

Can’t be around them, but they cannot stop my prayers! I write their names on my daily prayer list, and I pray for them, until all anger, rage, hatred, and murderous thoughts have finally been replaced with the love of God shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit.

love poured in

You will get a wonderful understanding of what a living sacrifice is, in dealing with these people, and need to guard your heart around them, but love never fails!

Religion won’t do this, it takes an encounter with the living God!

One day, the final victory, is when they turn from their sin, and accept Jesus, and make heaven….

God has eternity on His mind! He knows the depth of degradation these people live in, their sin, and longs to forgive them, if they would repent.

Because you decided to love….

enemies love

Love is the Victory!

Lets Pray:
‘Father, I hate backstabbers, gossips, treacherous people! You see what they are doing to me, and have done, and would continue to do, if I allowed them. By faith, in your authority, I stop their tricks, traps, and wickedness, and close every door to them and their betrayals. Father, I need your help to love them. To forgive the unforgiveable, because they are still doing their evil! Father, pour through me your love, your grace, your mercy, your forgiveness, and cause me to see them through the eyes of Your love. Place your love in my heart for them, and allow me to pray for them, that they might make heaven, not hell, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’

How to defeat Gossip…

Proverbs 26:20 English Standard Version
For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.

gossip
Sometimes, the best counsel in controversy, is that of brother  Kenneth Hagin, ‘When persecuted, let your response be: No attack, no defense.” Let love cover the gossip and controversy. If they are right, correct yourself, and go on. If they are wrong, let God deal with them, let Him be your defense.

Easily said, but not so easily accomplished!

Lies, insinuations, libel, slander – HURT!

lies kill

You are doing your best to obey God, love the world, be an instrument of healing and expansion for the kingdom of God, and then BAM! You learn of some dirt spoken about you, that is often so evil, it takes your breath away.

God knows how you feel:

Psalm 109

For the choir director: A psalm of David.

O God, whom I praise,
    don’t stand silent and aloof
while the wicked slander me
    and tell lies about me.
They surround me with hateful words
and fight against me for no reason.
I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations
even as I am praying for them!
They repay evil for good,
    and hatred for my love.

Don’t get proud, or self-righteous. We all came from dirt (Adam), and were born and conceived in sin.

Don’t throw another log on the fire of controversy!

Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom
Though we have become the righteousness of God in Christ, children of the most high, we all have flesh.
Flesh cannot cast out flesh!
If we enter into offense and strife, we enter into the devils playground:
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Well, the devil is called, the accuser of the brethren for a reason. He is a liar and the father of all lies, and he comes to kill…your relationships, your calling, your dreams, your honor, your business, your marriage, your ministry, and if possible,  take your very life
.satanic big book
This is not how we must live!
Chasing gossip is like trying to nail Jello to the wall. You can get a nail in it, but it just makes a bigger mess.
When bad things have been done and said about us, take them to our Father in heaven, and cry the tears you need to. He knows, He cares, He loves, and He will heal you, and correct them if your heart is right. This  is not easy, but will always produce a trip to the cross, to die yet another death to self.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

2. Lift up the shield of faith, and the shield of favor.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Yet, in order to fully understand this attack, you need to see it for what it is, an attack against the kingdom of God.
unstoppable
When we walk with God, He gives us favor with people. This favor comes because He loves us, and to build His kingdom.
When satan sees this, he fears us, so he tries to stop us.
His ABC’s are Accusation, Blame and Criticism. The insidious realm of rumor, slander, and character assassination by insinuation….
It is an attack upon your honor, your promotion, your prosperity, and your favor.
For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield
Well, Chris, if am not supposed to fight with people, what AM I supposed to do?
The shield of faith is only one weapon in the armor of God, there is also a sword, which is the word of God. (Pretty good weapon too, it is the only weapon Jesus used against satan himself in Matt 4: (IT IS WRITTEN!)
sword flame
We are to lift up our shield and sword, and take the battle to the enemy!
Amen.
If you would like some more teaching about how to be truly led by Holy Spirit each day:(

God is good, kind, and remember, He is love!

Give in faith!

1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown [the seed of] spiritual good among you, [is it too] much if we reap from your material benefits?

1 Corinthians 9:14 [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel.

Paul goes on to say, that he did not use his position as a minister of the gospel to take up offerings, rather he worked, making tents, to support himself. You might notice here, that Paul was not married, nor did he have children. Family responsibilities take time, and just as you bust a move on your job to provide for your family, I work every bit as hard, doing this, faithful to the Lord in prayer and the ministry of His Word, to you.

I will never charge for this: it my responsibility to God, my calling. Freely I have been given, now, I freely give…

As you give, hear Holy Spirit what to give, and honestly expect God to reward you for your giving.

Matt 10: 41 He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.

I am a five-fold ministry gift and office – this is my life – I pray, I hear, I write, and wonderful things happen. You have your job description, I have mine – this is mine….

I have ‘see through’ faith for you, in this: Gal 3: 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

I believe I have a responsibility before God to be like Jesus, in every offering I receive. I receive it with thanksgiving, just like Jesus did the little boys lunch.

Then, because I walk and live by faith according to the blessing of Abraham, I believe that God will take your seed sown, and multiply it, according to what the blessing of Abraham promises:

Genesis 22:17 In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies

It has been a joy to me, to see the hand of the living God act in the lives of those of you who have supported us this year!

Many have seen tremendous blessing come into your households, and for this we give thanks, and give Jesus all the glory!

Don’t Whitewash – Build Upon Truth!

truth hate speech

Build Upon Truth!

Whitewash (Merriam Webster)-to make (something) whiter by painting it with whitewash

: to prevent people from learning the truth about (something bad, such as a dishonest, immoral, or illegal act or situation)

: to defeat (an opponent) easily by winning every game, point, etc

Ezekiel 13:10 (CEV)

10 Those prophets refuse to be honest. They tell my people there will be peace, even though there’s no peace to be found. They are like workers who think they can fix a shaky wall by covering it with paint.

In Construction, there was a saying in carpentry: ‘Putty and paint, are what a carpenter ain’t’

The implication is that no amount of fine finish is a substitute for good workmanship.

In life, there is no substitute for building our life upon the truth of the Word of God.

truth Bible

Matthew 7:24

“Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock.

25 And the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand;

27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

The Storms of life come to us all, yet those who have carefully built out lives upon Jesus and His Words, will stand through the storms, strong!

Whatever you do, do it well, so that it will last.

Let’s Pray:

Father, I bring your word before you, and like Paul prayed: ‘Phil 1: And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may [g]approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless [h]until the day of Christ; 11 having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.’

Life in the Potters Hands…

Life in the Potters Hands...

The Potters House

Jer 18:1 ¶ The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

I know, every time that someone hears the name ‘Potter’s House’ we think of the incredible bishop TD Jakes! As much as we love the bishop, we see here, that he received the name of his ministry, from the Word of God.
potter
Today, as I read through these passages, I had an interesting thought occur to me:

Could it be that as God desires to promote, increase, and use us more, that there can be times, where the vessel that we once were, must be destroyed, in order that something greater can be formed, more beautiful, bigger, more exquisitely designed, for a more noble purpose?

Hear the prayer of king David in his distress:

Ps 31:12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

Sure sounds like our verse out of Jeremiah doesn’t it?
broken
The vessel was marred, so it was shattered, and remade into something greater….

Read through this psalm.

Could it be that this is exactly what God did here with David?

He was shattered in his sin and in his trial, yet after pouring out his heart to God, he ends by saying:

31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

He shall strengthen your heart….

Well, I am spiritual, but practical. I always look for purpose in any given process. Could it be, that when we find ourselves shattered at the feet of a Holy and loving God, that it was because the vessel, our heart, was marred, and God, who only wants good for our lives, and the lives of those we are called to serve, rebuilds us after each shattering, stronger, with larger capacity for Him, for service, for life….
broken vessel
As I go through life, I find there is often a process at work in my life.

Yes, from His love, joy, life, I get to serve my fellow man, and this is a privilege and honor.
Serve
Yet, I did not grow up in church, discipled under the Word of God, and the Bible is clear:

Ro 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

So, I do certain things, that seem good in my eyes.

Learned behaviors and actions learned in my family, in school, in the workplace, that seemed to work during the time I was in those circumstances, yet that have formed, in my soul, belief systems.

Where these belief systems are based upon the Word of God, they come in to the kingdom of God when I receive Jesus, and bear eternal fruit.

However, many, many of the things I have believed were not Scriptural, and therefore, have become ‘high things that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God’
cast
I cry out, year after year, for revival, to be pure in heart, to be holy in word and deed before God, and He answers….

Ro 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
diamond
How I walk with Him, and cry out for Him, will affect what kind of vessel I become.

1Th 4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

2Ti 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
instruments
I must purge myself with the Word of God. He will change me, as I cry out for it, but He does not give what is holy to the dogs…

So, I go into this hurting world, with the love of Jesus, proclaiming the gospel, yet humbly…

As I get to know people, I learn to listen, learn, and see God at work in their world and culture and sometimes, I find myself shattered.

breaks it
Usually, because I discover people so broken, that I have no way of helping them, other than the power of God, and this, is a good place to be in prayer…Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for to these, come the kingdom…

Yet, there is another kind of brokenness, the topic of this meditation. The one that God Himself brings, the one that comes, when He, in His infinite wisdom, love, and holiness, shatters us to recreate something more glorious, fit for the master’s use.

In construction we have basically three categories: commercial, residential, and remodel (which can be either commercial or residential).

Ps 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

There is a saying in construction: ‘You can’t build on broken bricks.’

To build anything right, the foundation must be solid, level, and able to bear the load of whatever we plan to build upon it.

In any case, the dirt work must be done first, before a foundation can be laid:

1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 ¶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

So, we cry out to God, and we are moving in His gifts, His anointing, seeking Him daily, and are being transformed, into the likeness of Jesus.

Ro 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Then, for almost no apparent reason, we find ourselves shattered.

Construction has begun on our personal temple…
God builds
We thought we were in faith, and we were, but that very faith drove us into the heart of our holy God, and He, in His mercy, sees the very foundations of our belief system, our lies, our treacherous ways, our scheming, prideful, and fearful ways, and in His courts, we, the vessel, the temple of the Holy Spirit, is marred….

Yet, He loves us!

So, we are shattered.

In a remodel, the demolition comes first. The architect or builder has a plan for a greater structure that may include moving some load bearing walls, expansion requires greater foundation, and in comes the dirt crew again…

Dust, dirt, workmen, and noise, shatter our serenity, but God Himself is at work, making a temple that will survive the fire!

Smash! And we realize we were terrified of certain things, until His perfect love appears and destroys our deepest fear!

Crash! We realize that we have believed lies. That perhaps mom and dad were wrong on some things. That everything we learned in school was not all true.

Bam! Suddenly abortion is no longer a personal choice, but murder before God. Evolution, so carefully learned in our hearts and minds, meets the Creator of all life, and bam, this idol falls.

Situational ethics, meet the rock solid standards of the Word, and our lying, manipulative, sneaky ways, become purity of heart, a clear conscious, an eye that is single, a confidence and boldness that is unshakable. We can look anyone in the eye, for we have nothing to hide…

And gently, the master potter, places us again on the wheel, wet, pliable, formable, and a new vessel is formed….

His loving hands make again, a thing of beauty!

“But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8)
potter Isaiah
His hands are gentle….

2Sa 22:36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

This is my life these days.

I have been from rags to riches, to brokenness again, yet I know the potter, and embrace the wheel, for what comes off the wheel, will face the fire, and come forth unmarred, strong, and fit for the master’s use…

It’s all about harvest; God is making me, and many of you, into threshing instruments, vessels of honor that will contain His glory, power, and anointing necessary to reap this generation…
Harvest1
Let’s pray:
“Father, I know you. Each time and season you purge me, move from faith to faith, strength to strength, and glory to glory. Thank you for purging, breaking, and reforming me, more like Jesus, that you can entrust to me more responsibility, wisdom, strength, and grace to reach this generation. Please do not hold back! Make me all I need to be! In Your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen.”
