Judge Not? Judging like Jesus..

Judging like Jesus!

Fond

Been meditating on the concept of how Jesus judges. Watched the movie, ‘The Shack’ recently, and it got me to thinking. I remember one scene in the movie, where God the Father (appearing as a wonderful black woman) was asked “Why don’t you judge them?”

With raised eyebrows she said: “Judge?”

The overwhelming theme of the movie is how incredibly complex human lives are, and how far God will go in love to reach out and heal and redeem shattered people.

Clearly God is love, and hates evil, yet operates in love above and beyond all evil.

Got to thinking about some Scriptures.

Remember the woman caught in adultery?
woman caught in adultery

Let’s look at it together:

John 8:

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

stone

This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

without sin

And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
12 ¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

We see in this reading, that Jesus was called to judge in the case of the woman caught in adultery. Many have commented on His great mercy towards the woman, and the wisdom of His judgement on her behalf, standing against the corrupted judgement of the religious leaders of the day. Obviously, for adultery to have occurred, there had to be two participants, and the man was conspicuously absent from this mock trial and potential stoning.
judge righteous
Yet, Jesus was able to render true judgement in this case, and in His judgement, I believe there was grace imparted to the woman, power from God, to empower her to be able to do, what He told her to do: Go, and sin no more.

Yet, today as I meditated upon the Word, seeking the will of our Father for my life, I see something here that I suspected for many times, and that is the relationship between personal holiness and purity of heart, and the power of God displayed.
be-holy

Normally, judgement is rendered out of the mouth of two or three witnesses. The question logically might be: How do we know if the witnesses are telling the truth? Secondly, what do we do if the society has become so corrupt, that no honest witnesses can be found?
two-or-three-witnesses

Jesus heart was revealed in His relationship with our Father, in this:

John 2:24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

Jesus walk with our Father, was from birth to the cross, in absolute purity, and sinless perfection.

I believe that we are called to walk this way also.

The question is how do we get there, and how do we judge or make decisions?

What about these verses?

Matt 7:1 ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Here we see a direct commandment not to judge people.

Joh 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
judge righteous by Holy Spirit
Joh 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

How on earth, are we supposed to do that?

Answer? This is only possible by correctly applying the Word of God, and accurately hearing the voice of Jesus in the earth, the Holy Spirit!
obey hear voice

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

In all of these Scriptures, we see that we are forbidden to judge other people, yet what about these verses:

Joh 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

Does Jesus still have authority to judge? Surely.

Question is, as His representatives and ambassadors in the earth, how do we judge?
ambassador

1 Cor 4:1 ¶ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

I believe there is a place in obedience to the Holy Spirit, whereby Jesus reveals to us, as leaders, His judgments and decrees in the earth, and that these must be received by direct revelation from the heart and lips of our Father in heaven.

The challenge is what to do with what He shows us?

Are we to pray, prophesy, preach, confront?

This takes wisdom, because sometimes, because He loves us, He simply shows us things, to protect or bring understanding to us, and our families.

Sometimes the best I can do in these situations, where others are set in THEIR ways to do against the revealed will of God, is to quietly walk away and remove myself from them.

I have learned to seek purity of heart and motive.

Why?

Mt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

I, like you, need to see God, clearly, so that I might know the will of the Father. Only when I see and hear Him, can I honestly obey, with a right motive, and judge correctly. He is Lord, I am not, I am nothing but a steward over His work, His Creation. Yet, there are times, when I must stand bold against sin, sickness, demons, and the constructs of the agendas of men and their worldly agendas.

Our job is always to endeavor to obey Him, no matter what!
obey no compromise

2Co 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

As we obey, we will see more and more power of God manifest in the earth:

Ac 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

As a witness, I need to see something: either His plan, purpose, presence or revealed will in a situation, or perhaps to an event that He performed, a sign, wonder, miracle, that I can testify about. When I witness the Holy Spirit bears witness, and He graciously shows up in my life, as I obey Him!

This, and this alone allows me to judge situations, people, and even governments!

When this happens, I can take His authority, and war for His will in the earth, declaring His decrees and watching as He establishes these in power, as I believe His Word!

You can too!

Let’s Pray:

“Father, I believe that all judgement still belongs to Jesus. He is Lord, and I am His. Jesus, show me your will for my life, my family, my church, my community, my state, and my country. In every area these are not in alignment with your will and your Word, anoint me to arise in violent faith, and to blast every enemy, and to establish your kingdom through your Word declared. Thank you for signs, wonders and miracles establishing your Word in the earth. Amen’

Grace to live Holy and Happy!

Grace Leads to Holiness!

As we seek first Jesus again this morning, and commit to our yearly Bible reading plans, this thought is impressed upon my mind: Holiness!

grace-holy

Grace is simply God’s power towards us to do what we cannot do.

He wants us to be holy, like Jesus in this world!

Holiness, purity, integrity – almost forgotten word in today’s society, but the very nature and character of God.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind.

12 It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world,

I like the way the King Jimmy translation says these verses:

Titus 2:11-12 (KJV)

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

grace-teaches

So, grace from heaven, comes in the form of the HOLY Spirit, and teaches us….

What does He teach us?

To deny ungodliness and worldly lusts – to live soberly, righteously, and godly – where? In heaven?

Surely we will live holy there, but this verse is plain. Grace teaches us to live holy here, in this war-torn, broken world…no small task!

2 Timothy 1:9

[For it is He] Who delivered and saved us and called us with a calling in itself holy and leading to holiness [to a life of consecration, a vocation of holiness]; [He did it] not because of anything of merit that we have done, but because of and to further His own purpose and grace (unmerited favor) which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began [eternal ages ago].

Well, there you have it – true grace leads to true holiness (and, I might add, is the only path to actually get there).

grace-appeared

I long to live a pure, holy life, full of love, laughter, peace, where we honestly treat others right from a pure heart – holiness is what this world needs.

He is determined to make us into the image of Jesus: Rom 8:29 CEV

and he has always known who his chosen ones would be. He had decided to let them become like his own Son, so that his Son would be the first of many children…

Lincoln on The Money Power

I remember reading a quote from Lincoln that has stayed with me over the years:

‘The test of a man’s character is not adversity as many would suggest, for many a good man has made it through a hard time, rather, give that man a little authority, and some money in his pocket, and then see how he treats his fellow man!”

Truly, poverty may reveal sin, but can also reveal eternal character!

God has decided to allow us to rise from the muck and the mire of the human experience, and become the people of honor both heaven and earth long for!

This is the true grace of God, the power to live a holy life!

grace-overcome-sin

May this be our desire and pursuit today!

Let’s Pray:

Father, work in us to will and to do of Your good pleasure. Cause us to love purity and holiness, and hate sin. Grant us grace to deny ungodliness, rejecting and and renouncing all that is not like You, Your love, Your presence, Your holiness, Your purity. All that will not enter heaven. Do this today, and every day I pray. I ask, knowing I am heard, for I ask in Your name Lord Jesus! Amen!

Even miracles and God’s presence will NOT always cause a person to repent!

The Presence of God, and gifts of the spirit, will not change a human heart…. 1 Sam 19:19 And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah. 20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over […]

The Presence of God, and gifts of the spirit, will not change a human heart….

chambers
As I read this passage, I am reminded of so many I have met over the years:

1 Sam 19:19 And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.

20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

21 And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.

22 Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.

23 And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.

24 And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

saul

Surely, we see a divine encounter with the kingdom of God here. Let’s think about what is going on here.

Saul disobeyed God, and the kingdom was stripped from him. The anointing of God was taken from him, and given to David, and an evil spirit came upon Saul. Saul, hates David, because he sees in him, that which he lacks in himself: courage, bravery, excellence of spirit, purity of heart, and a heart that is in love with God Himself.

Despite the fact that Saul has been throwing spears at him, and hunting him to kill him, David, on the run, refuses to take Saul’s life, and he continually cries out to God on behalf of Saul. Yet, Saul, determined to keep the kingdom, continually sends soldiers to attempt to kill David, and David, by hearing intimately the voice of God, is able to avoid them, every time.

david voice

Why did God allow David all those years in the wilderness running from Saul? I think it is because:

David had to hear God accurately, in life or death situations, if he was ever going to be fit to be king.

In this account, David has run for refuge from Saul to Samuel’s house, and they are having a revival meeting where the gifts of the Holy Spirit are very much in operation, so much so that when Saul’s soldiers come chasing David there, they are arrested by the Spirit of God, and find themselves prophesying under the anointing of God.

gifts

Saul does not want to hear this, so sends two more sets of messengers to Ramah, and each time, they too succumb to the power of God, and find themselves prophesying by the Spirit of God, and unable to apprehend David.

So, Saul Himself goes down to Samuel’s revival meeting, and what happens: v 24 And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night.

slain

Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

So, you would think, after the Holy Spirit so humbled Saul, that he would repent, and begin again to serve the Lord, and leave David alone.

Yet, what did he do?

saul-spear

He went home, and again began to plot again how to murder king David!

Even after the presence of God had caused him to prophesy naked for a day and a night at the feet of Samuel!

revival
In Luke 16, we read the account of the rich man and Lazarus. Notice here that this is not an allegory or parable, but a true story Jesus is recounting. The rich man went to hell, and the poor beggar went to Abraham’s bosum or paradise (Jesus had not yet risen from the dead, so heaven was not open yet).

We see this rich man in hell, seeing father Abraham, and crying out that someone be sent to his family, that they not end up in the same place.

Yes, people in hell are praying that we share the gospel with their families!

Let’s pick it up here:

Luke 16: 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

listen

Notice what Abraham, in the afterlife said: that it is more important for people to hear the word of God, and repent, than to see miracles. In fact the implication here is strong: That if someone will not hear the word of God, even if they saw someone raised from the dead telling them of what was to come, they would not change!

chasm

So what is the moral of the story?

Simple: The gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the presence of God, will not change a human heart, unless that heart is willing to be changed.

I have heard it said:

that the only thing greater than the power of God in the earth, is the free will of man.

Saul might have been able to repent here, and be of some use to king David in his future reign, had he humbled himself, but he absolutely refused!

responsible1

It eventually cost him his life, and the life of his son, and many others.

The only safe prayer I see in all of this, is the repeated theme of my life and ministry:

‘Father, please grant me purity of heart and purpose. Please open my eyes, and deliver me from my own delusions of grandeur, my will, and my way. Jesus, you are the way, please become my way, with no other agenda, no compromise. May I serve and fully obey You, in spirit and in truth, whatever the cost, for your name and honors sake, Amen’

corruption

Not one jot or Tittle

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

jot-or-title2I snapped a picture of the hand-out sheet given us in seminary, by Dr. Brad Young. Incredible insight in it, as you look at the Hebrew language of the text.

I have not yet had his Hebrew class yet, and do not speak Hebrew, but I have no reason to doubt his presentation of this passage.

Under the law, Torah reads:

Deut 17:17-18(NASB)

17 He shall not multiply wives for himself, [a]or else his heart will turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself.

18 “Now it shall come about when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll [b]in the presence of the Levitical priests.

The Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC)

jot-or-tittle1He showed us on the whiteboard, the Hebrew, and explained how by removing the yod, the verse took on a completely different meaning, that instead of expressly forbidding the king from multiplying horses and wives to himself, Solomon apparently said it was okay for him to have horses and wives multiplied to himself.

This sin brought destruction to Israel, hence the impassioned cry of prayer from this account of a Hebrew scholar, sage, and clearly one concerned with God’s truth and holiness.

This gives much deeper meaning and understanding to the words of Jesus

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The law is holy.

While the letter of the law kills, the spirit of the law is love, truth, and holiness – the hunger of every human heart.

His account of the man of God crying out to God on behalf of Israel, and reminds me of the article I wrote for the leadership breakfast some time ago, specifically the thought that perhaps a Jewish leader, seeing the church being birthed in power, could have cried out in a similar way, on behalf of God’s holiness: https://chrisaomministries.com/2017/02/05/when-god-does-business/

In any case, on this blog, we all seek Jesus, and He is Jewish, and He is truth. He fulfilled the law, so that we can be forgiven, adopted, and can actually pursue a life of love and true holiness, not merely the letter of the law, but as the law is written upon our hearts, changing our very thoughts and motives.

I am so grateful for what I am learning….

Let’s pray:

‘Father, may I become holy. Not merely position-ally, but practically as you renew my mind, and challenge my thoughts and intents of heart, that I might, by Your grace, change, and become more like Jesus. That I might continue in Your Word, and know truth, that that truth I know, would make me free. I ask, knowing I am heard, for I ask in Your name Lord Jesus.Amen’

Hi everyone,

serpant apple

Been thinking about sin.

You know, things expressly forbidden by the word of God.

Just to be fair, let’s name a few, so that I do not single anyone out, because we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and Jesus died because He loved sinners. He paid the ultimate price for sin, it killed Him. He died upon the cross to bear the full weight of it, for all humanity.

Gal 5:

Living by the Spirit’s Power

16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.

19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control.
fruit of the spirit
There is no law against these things!

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.

As I read these verses, written to Christians, I see the clear what we are called to live, a life of honor, humility, love, purity, gratefulness, patience, gentleness, holiness, and love in Jesus.

Yet, we see, as the native proverb goes, the battle we all fight within ourselves…

good wolf bad wolf

If you have read much of my material, you discover the overwhelming thread of what I post is on the love, grace, goodness, and righteousness of God: Who we are before His throne, royal children of the most High God.

Read this article today, and it got me to thinking:

http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/in-the-line-of-fire/40930-is-it-only-the-goodness-of-god-that-leads-us-to-repentance

If I am a servant of Jesus, do I do humanity disservice, if I do not do as Jesus did, commanding men everywhere to repent?

If I call lying wrong? Am I a hater?

If I declare homosexuality to be wrong? Am I a gay basher?

If I declare that pornography, prostitution, child-sex trafficking are wrong? Am I judgemental, critical, non-loving?

How about envy, jealousy, pride? If I call these sins, am I no longer a ‘good news preacher’?

You can see where I am taking this line of thought.

Clearly, the overwhelming tragedy of the human experience is not the depth of degradation people allow themselves to wallow in, rather, in light of eternity, and the power of God available to any human being through the grace given us in Jesus, how far short of His glory, honor, holiness, purity and love we still choose to live.
victory-cross

When Jesus came to live inside of us, old things passed away, all things became new, yet I see so many fellow Christians, like dogs returning to their own vomit, living so far below their rights and privileges as believers.

2 Corinthians 6:

The Temple of the Living God

14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil[d]? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God.

temple

As God said:

“I will live in them

    and walk among them.

I will be their God,

and they will be my people.[e]

17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers,

and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.

Don’t touch their filthy things,

    and I will welcome you.[f]

18 And I will be your Father,

and you will be my sons and daughters,

    says the Lord Almighty.[g]

We are called children of the most high God, people who bear His name.

royalty

Yet, just like we need to change a few diapers as parents, as our children dirty themselves, even so, we are expected to grow out of the diaper stage into honor and holiness.

Yes, I love people.

Yes, like Jesus, I hate sin, for I see what it does to people, families, communities, and nations.

Titus 2:11 (AMP) For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. (KJv 21) 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world,

Yes, we are adopted into the kingdom of God, but we are to become HOLY!

Notice here, that it is only God’s grace that allows us to do this, but that that very grace, teaches us.

For those who missed yesterday’s post: https://chrisaomministries.com/2017/02/13/grace-to-live/

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
sin kills
God loves us, yet as a good parent, He instructs us on the rules in His family, His kingdom, the ways of righteousness.
Sin kills, and if I am to truly love you, I must exhort you to holiness.
Let’s pray:
‘Father, May we see sin the way You do, and hate it the way You do. In Your love for us, convict us of our sin, and in Your grace, teach us how to leave it, and live in purity, honor, and love towards You and our fellow humanity. I ask this, knowing I am heard, for I ask in Your name Lord Jesus, AMen’

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

grace-teaches

Amen!

Inward Change Equals Outward Power and Authority!

Inward Change Equals Outward Power and Authority
heart-change
In the following passage, we see Jesus rebuking religious leaders who have added traditions to the Word of God. Yet, He looks beyond the outward observance of religious traditions and gets right to the heart of every human being.

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within and defile the man.
heart-god-sees
Here is what I have discovered in life: ‘If it is not in you, it won’t come out of you.”

Joh 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

My spiritual gauge for myself and those I work with is the words that we speak.
words
No matter how much of Christian someone pretends to be on Sunday, what are they saying and doing the rest of the week?

Are they cussing, discussing and gossiping?

Are they bitter and thinking evil thoughts, proud, or simply speaking foolishness?

All of these, according to this passage, reveal heart problems and require Holy Ghost heart surgery, and a trip to the cross, where these things die, and we discover the resurrection power of Jesus in that area of our life, empowering us to walk free of our wickedness.
cross1
I have noticed that a Christian Positionally has authority over every demon in hell, but practically only demonstrates that power, in the areas where we don’t yield to those demons. They cannot tempt us with a desire, if that desire no longer exists, it died when it met the cross of Jesus, and so, practically, we exercise dominion over darkness in the areas where we have victory.

keys to kingdom
Notice that our power comes from Jesus, but if you walk with Him awhile, you quickly discover, that an obedient, spirit led life, becomes a powerful life, as His power flows through us:

and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Lu 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

God works within us, to purify our very desires in our soulical realm, then uses us to help others in the very areas where we once struggled.

Ro 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?

I want to be a pure and holy, vessel of honor, displaying His power and authority to set captives free, and deliver people controlled by demons.

How about you?

Let’s pray:
Father, I see where I still think and speak evil things sometimes. Destroy these things, with your power. Forgive me, Father, now give me the power to forever kill these evil desires. Wash me deep within from my evil desires, and purify my thoughts, emotions, desires, so that I can say like Jesus, satan has come, but found nothing in me! In your name, I pray Lord Jesus, Amen!

Staying Faithful to the End – Mannasseh

A cry for holiness and purity of heart
obey no compromise
Today, as I read 2Kings 20,21 we are left with the account of Manasseh:

2 Kings 21:6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

There must be a total consecration to Jesus, and the authority of His Word, without compromise.

Why? Satan is a liar:

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

He is a mind blinding spirit, and unless we stay in the Word of God, in clean fellowship with a strong local church, and deliberately seeking God daily, we will be deceived. As we read the accounts of the kings of Israel and Judah, we stand amazed that they keep leaving God, building idol temples, performing demonic sacrifices, and listening to actual demons. Manasseh, son of Hezekiah, man of God, served as king for 55 years, yet did evil in the sight of the Lord, and departed from Him.

Seems having a godly family can help us, but ultimately, we must choose our own way in life, whether to serve God, or ultimately, devils. If we do not actively choose God, we will serve demons. Demons know how to implant thoughts in our minds, to get us off.

I realized this some years ago, after reading a little book by A.W. Tozer entitled ‘The knowledge of the Holy’, taken from the passage in Proverbs:
Pr 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Seems that wisdom is the principal thing, but for a young man of God starting out, I saw wisdom was not the be all and end all. Solomon cried out for wisdom, in humility before the Lord, and yet erred in using his wisdom, to sin against God, and take 1000 wives, that corrupted him, and drew him away from God.
Twice in my life, after doing some great exploits for God, I have had God appear to me, in His glory, leaving me on my face before Him, simply attempting to breath.

Twice He has asked me, “Child, what you have done, is pleasing in my sight, ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.’ Twice I have said the same thing:
“Father, I want to be holy and pure in heart”

So began the preparation for ministry, that has involved incredible hardship, suffering, rejection, and pain, as He has stripped away my soulical desires, and ravished my heart with His love and presence. It has been over 25 years since those encounters, yet I see His faithfulness in answering them, as I have met with Him, over and over again, and seen the dross of my own desires, consumed in the fire of His love: my passions met in the power of the cross, that I might live solely, to do His will, His way, for His motive.
fools
Publicly, I am a fool for Christ, misunderstood at best by most people, and many Christians, but there is One upon whose face I sense a smile, a grin that draws the great cloud of witnesses into peeking over the balconies of heaven, as I run my race before Him. I am heard upon High, and nations shake as I pray, demons are terrified of my presence, my authority, my words, and angels stand to attention, at the name of Jesus uttered from my lips. I have become one of whom the world is not worthy, crucified with Christ, sold out totally to Him and His call upon my life.
There is a joy and a peace in this, that nothing can compare to nor take away.

Mt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
passionate pursuit
As my heart is purified by His fire, separated from my desires, that I may see His, my eyes are opened to see Him, the living God, high and lifted up, moving in incredible power and majesty throughout the earth.
Lets pray
Let me pray for you:

‘Father God, I know you love us, and want us happy and blessed, yet I also know that there is no greater happiness, than holiness. Purify our hearts of our sin and selfish ways, that our desires line up with your desires. Fill us with your love, light, and presence today, and give us courage, to abandon all for the sake of your call upon our lives. In your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen!’
