Let God pick your battles:

God fighting

As I read this morning’s Bible reading in One Year Bible, I began to think about broken people trying to leave broken lifestyles. Let’s read it together.
Ex 13:17 When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”

18 So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea.[a] Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle.[b]

We all know the story, 10 plagues, Moses and Pharoah, “Let my people go!”

Imagine if you will the mindset of these people. Beaten, broken, enslaved for as long as anyone could remember, suddenly delivered by the hand of God, yet not yet fully trusting God fully yet.

broken people

Remember when God called David, and Samuel had a hard time accepting it:

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

He knows what we are made of, and what it takes to build a strong foundation of faith into our hearts, that one day will allow us to be the warriors, delivers, and victors in life’s battles.

If any of you have seen the movie ‘Captain America’ there is a scene where the commanding officer says something like, ‘there is no way we can make a soldier out of him’, then in one of the drills, Cap falls upon a grenade to protect the other guys in his platoon, and the hardened soldier gets some instruction. He had looked at the small stature and fraility of the man, yet his courage in battle revealed his heart.

In this case, God knew the children of Israel were not ready for a battle yet with the Philistines, so He led them on a longer route.

Anyone read the Christian classic: ‘Hinds Feet on Hinds Places?”

Hinds Feet

It is the journey where a fictional character named ‘poor little much afraid’ is transformed through a journey with the Shepherd, to receive her hinds feet to be able to leap around the mountains with a new name: ‘Grace and glory” It’s a great read, but the point that comes to mind is the way that that Shepherd leads her on their journey, the horror of being led directly away from her destination into the desert, instead of up the mountain.

Seems the Shepherd was wiser than her though, because near the end of the book, she discovers the extra miles in the desert had strengthened her to climb the steep dangerous cliffs, and in exhilaration she discovered she had conquered her fears, and was able to leap the tall heights with ease and joy.

Over the years, I have worked with broken people, each struggling with some deep dark secret pattern of destructive behavior. Addicts especially come to mind, and how relevant this verse is in their lives. They cannot be around alcohol or drugs of any form for some time, until they become strong, the temptation is too great.

addict way out

In this Bible reading, the children of Israel were about to come in between a rock and a hard place, with far worse than the Philistines to face, the entire army of Egypt was about to back them up to the Red sea, and you know the rest of the story, God fought for them that day, as a whirlwind, a sea parter, and One who is altogether faithful.

Fear not

Maybe you are in a fight for your life today. Literally, or spiritually, it doesn’t matter.

1 Corinthians 10:13  (ASV)

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.

Jesus is the way, and also the waymaker. He will provide, He will deliver, He will lead you away from battles you are not yet qualified to fight. He knows, He cares, He loves.

waymaker

Let’s Pray:

“Father, I need you to lead and guide me today. Show me Your will and Your way. Deliver me from the brutal circumstances that seek to destroy me, and show me the straight and narrow way Jesus promised is available to me. Amen”

Leadership Process – Servant Kingship! 1 Cor 4 : 8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you. 9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it […]

servant-king

1 Cor 4 : 8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

How life changes as we grow up. We first come to Jesus, and the whole world lights up. The sun seems brighter, the flowers more beautiful, the sky clear, and we simply want to love the whole world. Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so. He loves me, He loves me, He loves me!

Servant Leadership

May this love ever burn in our hearts! May this love compel us to action!

Yet, quickly, we also discover, there is great evil in the world. Fallen men, empowered by their sin nature, and devils do abominable things! Babies killed, abused, wars, carnage, greedy people raping others, the land, for their own selfish carnal desires to be met.

Then, someone teaches us that we have authority over the devil! That we have something to say in this world! We can exercise God’s authority in the earth, because we have read:

Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

royalty

Re 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Indeed, we are kings before Him! Priests of the most High God! Offering acceptable sacrifices of prayer, praise, worship, and service, through Jesus shed blood!

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

royal

We have been given authority over the works of darkness, positionally, and we begin to walk it out!

Luke 10: 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

We are those who hear His voice, and we get filled with the Holy Spirit, and experience His power in our lives. Signs and wonders start to happen, daily in our life!

Mark 16: 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

We pray, and heaven opens, and we see visions, experience living revelation from a very living God.

Tim-Keller-Quote-Miracles-of-Jesus

Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Yet, after some years, God decides on a specific calling for our lives, something for us to do individually…He speaks to us, and sends us….

The word apostle, simply means: ‘sent one’.

Now, I can send my children to the refrigerator for milk, making them the apostle of milk!

Serve

In our reading today, this is not what Paul is talking about here. There is five fold ministry in the earth, set in place by the hand of God, to govern His church.

1Co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

1Co 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

apostle

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

These offices are the government of God in the earth, with the authority, power, and grace from God, to accomplish what He needs established.

Rather than divert from the clear direction Holy Spirit is leading me today, please read: http://www.amazon.com/He-Gave-Gift…/…/0892765178/ref=sr_1_1…

Today, I am led to share about the journey from revelational position and spiritual authority, to practical authority, responsibility, and seasoned leadership, in authentic five fold ministry gifts operating in the earth, now.

Paul discovered himself, initially, in his early years of ministry, to be great in the kingdom, called of God, with both spiritual and earthly authority. He was a king, priest and lord, subject only to the King of all Kings,High Priest we confess, and the Lord of all Lords!

2Co 11:5 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

What caused the apostle Paul, to call himself the ‘very chiefest of apostles’?

He had a revelation from heaven, and it was incredibly great!

Yet, the character of the Master, must become the character of the servant.

serve Jesus

By the end of his life, we read, the same apostle Paul:

1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

The journey of life, from chief apostle, to chief of all sinners….

From king, priest and power, to

1 Cor 4: 9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

Did his identity change? Did God demote him?

Ro 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Nope, promoted him actually, so much so that he wrote over half of the New Testament.

promotion

God did not change, but Paul did!

Consider carefully these words of Jesus:

Luke 22: 25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.

29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

What I want you to see, is this. Your eternal rank, privilege, and reward, are given to you by God Himself, AS A SERVANT!

Jesus serves

Ro 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

I have discovered this as a missionary, first back to Canada my home country, and now to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the United States of America, and the nations, that my heavenly office, authority, and position are secure.

Yet in the natural order of life, my day to day walk, I have become a spectacle unto the world, a laughing stock from my family, colleagues from college, former business leadership friends, where I am at best, misunderstood.

Even angels, that minister to me, my family, and the nations through me, are probably amazed at what I put up with, and undergo, to obey God, intimately, personally, daily, as even my fellow brothers and sisters at my church, probably question my sanity (Gotta admit, I question it some days too!), as again, and again, Jesus speaks, leads, and moves me far outside my comfort zone, as my deeper insecurities, need for control, position, and pride are stripped away, that the love of the kingdom of God, through pure motives might shine through me.

If you are called to lead, He is doing the same thing in you, too.

The great violinist, Niccolo Paganini willed his marvelous violin to city of Genoa on condition that it must never be played. The wood of such an instrument, while used and handled, wears only slightly, but set aside, it begins to decay. Paganini’s lovely violin has today become worm-eaten and useless except as a relic. A Christian’s unwillingness to serve may soon destroy his capacity for usefulness.

J.K. Laney, Marching Orders, p. 34.

Not sure who this is for, but the very call of God upon you to greatness, has actually produced the deeper workings of the cross in your life, as you seek to obey Him intimately.

Dreams and visions that did not come to pass in your timing, produce a quiet peace, trust, and revelation of His Lordship, that He will make everything beautiful in His time. He has eternity on His mind, and a people on the other side of your obedience.

Obedience is the Word of the day, for if you are truly called of God, there is no other way, to get from here, to where you know you need to be, otherwise.

The Four Stages of Manhood

manhood Jesus grew

I am going to produce a series of short, Biblical articles on manhood, and the four stages that I see from the Word of God, we grow through, both naturally and spiritually. These four stages are:

1.Boyhood

2.Manhood

3.Fatherhood

4.The Age of the Patriarch

Today, we will look at spiritual and natural boyhood.

Boyhood

manhood when I was a child

This is going to be a fairly short article for this simple reason: I want men to actually read it!

Over the years, as I have developed as a man of God, and more importantly as a man…Today we are going to talk about spiritual childhood, and growing through it, to become men of God….

In a perfect world, a child would be born into a Christian household, filled with love, nurture, the fruit of the Spirit, with boundaries of protection set around your world by the holiness of the Word of God.

There would be no drama, trama, or heartbreak, but parents would lovingly grow you up in the Word of God, until the day came that you, a fully responsible adult, would be launched out into your particular gifting and calling, deeply rooted in the Word and love of God, with wings to fly!

Yet, this is a fallen world, and not all of us grew up in a Christian home, furthermore, even those of us that did, could only be instructed in what our parents knew about the Word, and to the degree our parents were willing and able to recognize and respond to the giftings God had placed upon our lives, so that they might train us up in the way ‘we should go’.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it

manhood child Bible

There is responsibility of spiritual adults to care for new Christians; spiritual babies are characterized by Innocence, Ignorance, and sometimes, irritability.

Babies are easily distracted, easily hurt, and easily frustrated. God wants us to grow up to the place where we become single minded, not easily hurt, and not so easily frustrated. Where you can give our word, and keep it!

Well let’s look at God’s Word on this topic today, and then let’s see spiritual childhood, boyhood, and how to grow through it.

1 Corinthians 3:1  And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2  I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are born-again, new creations in Christ Jesus.

God Himself has come to live inside our recreated human spirit!

Jesus did not come to make bad people good, nor good people better, rather dead people: ALIVE!

We are born not only to our natural parents, but more importantly into the kingdom of God.

Just as the first thing a natural baby requires is to nurse, so in our heart of hearts, our recreated spirit also needs food to grow, the sincere milk of the Word of God!

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

The truth is, no matter how good or bad your upbringing was, as we decide to walk with Jesus, the Holy Spirit will bring the appropriate Word to make us more like Jesus, to bring us to completeness as human beings.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren

There may have been accidental parents, but no accidental children. God planned for you. He has given you and your life as a gift to this hurting planet, and He has an eternal plan being worked out for you, and in you.

You have been redeemed, adopted into God’s family:Ephesians 3:15 of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.

No matter how great our earthly family may have been, we are now part of the royal family of God, training for reigning with Jesus!

1 Cor 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things

We are to be conformed to be like Jesus

Romans 8:29 (AKJV)

  1. In a perfect world, in a perfect family (none exist on earth), a child would develop naturally, intellectually, and spiritually, in a wonderful cocoon of God’s love, grace and protection.
  2. Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Galatians 4  (AKJV)

4 :1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

You have been adopted into the family of God, with eternal rank and privilege!

Ephesians 1:5

having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

So what is the job and responsibility of a child? To grow!

manhood growHave fun! Fall in love with Father God, let Jesus love you, receive His grace, goodness, and continually diet of instruction in the Word of God. Learn to feed your heart, your human spirit, and to allow the Word of God to grow within you, setting boundaries upon your heart, teaching you truth from lies, right from wrong, good from evil, holiness from profanity, true love from mere human sentiment. Grow!

Let’s pray:

Father, thank you for adopting me and making me Your child. Reveal Your great love for me, and show me Your holy ways of love, that are always greater than the love of even my earthly parents. Bring into my life the sincere milk of Your Word, and cause me to grow in the character and likeness of Jesus, falling more in love with Him every day. Show me the things I have been taught by my parents, my teachers, society, and even church, that are not in line with Your Word, or Your particular calling and destiny upon my life, and show me truth that makes me free. I choose to separate myself fully on the purpose and plan You have created me for: grant me courage to walk in it, without compromise. I ask this, knowing I am heard and answered, for I ask in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen’

Count the COST!

Count the Cost!
cost
Hear these words of Jesus today:
Luke 14: 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

In business, in construction, we carefully calculate labor and materials into every project we build, then aggressively fight to bring the project in on time, on budget, consistantly, with no compromise to quality of workmanship. If you do this well, you remain in business, and if you do it really well, you will make a lot of money over the years. This discipline over years, has been good training in life.

In construction, money is the yardstick by which most projects are measured. You do a good job, and you make money. You mess up, you lose money, sometimes a whole lot of money.
self-control
As I transition from construction back to ministry, money has been been glaringly absent from my life and family, yet the things I had to do to build a construction company, the disciplines of life, are still ingrained in my character.

When we started the company, we had no money, no tools, no contracts, simply a dissatisfaction that we were not being paid enough for our skill and abilities, and we proved this to be true. From two men sharing vehicles with our wives, and some basic tools, we worked, sweated, and performed with excellence in the rough and tumble world of the construction and remodel industry. What began as barely making enough to live, became a company that did $900,000 in one year of business employing 23 great people, eight years later.

million
Then, came the Word from the Lord, to leave it all, and to preach the gospel. All these years of reading, meditating, praying, working, seeking Jesus, all the study in the Bible colleges, suddenly met Jesus, and He has commanded me to step back into the gospel, with no visible means of support.

Each day, He holds me responsible to do several things: Pray my prayer list, (for you and your family) produce these daily devotions, read through y daily Bible reading plan (http://oneyearbibleonline.com/daily-oyb/?version=51&startmmdd=0101) and to get to the gym and exercise. From the first two myriads of things are occurring, books being written (going to complete #4, today, #5 in the works), speaking engagements, ministry, missions trips, doors open at church, course work at seminary to complete my Masters degree, and accompanying signs, wonders, and miracles!
read-bible
Very similar to when we began the construction company, had no money, but a clear confidence that we were of more use to the construction industry as business owners, that mere carpenters. I honestly believe, I have something to contribute to the rebuilding of America, and as a voice to the nations. The deposit of God’s Word, years of reading book, after book, and sermon after sermon, has built something incredibly powerful in me, so like myriads of folks before me, I have set my eyes on the prize, and seek Jesus, with all my heart, as He directs my steps. To those who have never done this, I’m crazy, neglecting my family, foolish in leaving my career, needing balance…To Jesus, I make headlines in heaven, and am having eternal consequence in the earth. How about you? Have you given Him your all? Are you in the center of His perfect will for your life?

‘Let’s Pray:
‘Father, there are some who need to hear my testimony today. May it encourage them to step out in faith, trusting you fully for everything, hearing and obeying your voice, May You help us to seek You first in everything, and read our Bible every day of 2017, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’

Bruised Reeds and Smoking Flax

Bruised Reeds and Smoking Flax
smoking flax0
Matt 12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

Heard a teaching one time, that made me think. It was at a leadership conference, and it was talking about the ‘staff or rod’ of leadership.

Ex 4:2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

Ex 4:4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

Ex 4:17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
rod of the word
Nu 17:5 And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.

Ps 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
smoking flax walk

Pr 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

Eze 20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:

Mic 6:9 The LORD’S voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

1Co 4:21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

In these verses we see the rod, as being the symbol of God’s authority in the earth. Moses led with a staff, but in his hands, it became the rod of God, exercising God’s authority, power, and judgments in the earth.

For us who love God, the rod, or the reign and authority of God present in our lives, become a comfort to us, keeping us on the right path, in peace. The rod is His Word, the Holy Scripture, and the voice of Holy Spirit in the earth. These are to be obeyed, not debated.

With our children, the rod of our authority, will give them wisdom, and we see Jesus, the rod come forth from Jesse, line of Judah, linage of king David.

In Ezekiel, we see God acting, reestablishing His authority in His people, ‘bringing them under the rod’.

rod is word

In Micah, we hear the prophet crying out, by the voice of the Holy Spirit, ‘Hear ye the rod!

Beautiful Old Testament examples depicting the loving, yet powerful authority of God, at work in the life of his people.

Again, we see the same spirit of love in the apostle Paul, as expressed in the shepherd psalm, ‘Shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love?’

Yet, the man of God who brought this teaching for leaders being raised up (or held in place), by the hand of God, told this story:

In the middle east, is is a common sight for an elder, or a shepherd, to carry a staff. The staff was used in sometimes rough terrain, after a rain perhaps, the ground would be muddy, the footing unsure, so a seasoned leader would use his or her staff, to poke the ground in front of his path, to ensure good footing before walking and leading God’s people there. These rods were often cut from papyrus, or bamboo, and in both cases, the time of the cutting of the staff was important.
smoking reed
When the rod was the correct thickness and straightness, it could be cut, and carefully dried, to become a strong staff, but here is an interesting fact. The bamboo, or wood selected as a staff, could not be bent over or broken at any point in its length, for this would cause a bruise in it, that when dried, became a permanent weakness in the staff. If one leaned upon it, or put any weight upon it, it would break.

2Ki 18:21 Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.

No, a bruised reed, could be splinted, and propped up while it was still green and supple, and as it grew, the bruised areas, would heal themselves through growth, and would actually become stronger, in the areas of weakness, after they were healed.
smoking splint
Placing weight upon a staff, is symbolic of the responsibility of leadership. People place pressure on leaders, and if they were cut and dried while still bruised, they break under pressure.

God does not promote prematurely, there is an anointing for leadership, then there is an appointing for leadership.

Moses was called and discovered his calling at age 40. He was commissioned in his calling at age 80.

Joseph had his time in prison, Paul out in the desert, and if you are called, surely you are being training and developed at the feet of Jesus, probably in another man’s ministry, as God is gently exposing, revealing, and healing your deepest pains and weaknesses, while you are still green, so that while still growing, you can become strong in your weak areas, before you are cut, put aside, carefully dried, and prepared to accept the weight of responsibility your calling must carry.

To be honest, I have seen this process in my own life. As I have thought I was a lot more ready for leadership, than I actually was, I have often stepped out prematurely, to discover that there were yet bruised areas of my life, areas that would not yet bear weight. In my earlier years, I put painful splinters in my pastors’ hands, as they have carried me through some of the wonderful messes I made! Ugh! Never my intention to ever hurt God’s servants, nor to add to their problems, rather always, to take weight and problems from them…

So it is with leaders.
smoking candle
A smoking flax:

I read this quote by the famous Charles Spurgeon:

‘Sometimes a candle smokes, not because it is newly lit, but because it is almost extinguished. I know that I speak to some Christians who have been alight with the fire of Grace for many years and yet they feel as if they were near the dark hour of extinction. But you shall not go out. The Lord will not quench you, Himself, nor will He permit the devil to quench you. He will keep you alight with Grace.’

smoking flax

Well, for those of us still green and growing in our gift and calling, let us grow strong in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let’s Pray:

‘Father, help me to grow! May I continually press towards the mark of the high calling of God in You Christ Jesus. Help me to honestly face the bruised areas of my life, that need to be splinted, before being pressed into service for the King! May I never seek promotion, only responsibility and service…in Your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen!’

Let’s Pray:
‘Jesus, we seek to see you today, in our prayer, our praise, our worship, our service, in your Word, in our relationships, in our families, in our church, in our communities, as you change us, from glory to glory, making us more than we could ever become, in and of our own selves. Change me today, Lord. Make me more like you. Amen’

Leadership Process – Servant Kingship!

Leadership Process – Servant Kingship!

1 Cor 4 : 8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Chris Karen Walsh's photo.

Mark 16: 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Now, I can send my children to the refrigerator for milk, making them the apostle of milk!
servant king

In our reading today, this is not what Paul is talking about here. There is five fold ministry in the earth, set in place by the hand of God, to govern His church.

1Co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1Co 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
apostle
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Obedience is the Word of the day, for if you are truly called of God, there is no other way, to get from here, to where you know you need to be, otherwise.
cross ray
1Co 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
Have a Happy Death!
Ga 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Let’s pray:
‘”Father, I embrace the cross. I receive your process, and provision for the process, as I quietly hear, and obey, your voice, today. Jesus, you are my good Shepherd, may I clearly hear your voice, and fully obey you, today, Amen’

Know Thy Enemy!

Know thy Enemy

In this generation, we are called as Christians to exercise Jesus authority over satan and his demons influencing the minds of men: https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2014/11/27/the-origin-and-nature-of-satan/

Know thy enemy:

know thy enemy

If we were born in another generation, and were a man, it would be normal for us to go to war. Well, as I showed in the Warrior side of Father God, God is a warrior, and if you are to be like Him, so are you. https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2014/12/12/the-warrior-heart-of-god/

warrior

Remember, you are training for reigning, and God has not called you to be some buck private on the front lines, but are being groomed for officer status.

training for reigningNow a private simply obeys orders, and does what he is told. An officer however, gets involved in strategic planning, and does everything in his power to do the best for the men in his command. Some of the things he must consider in any combat situation are:

1) His supply lines: They say that for every soldier that actually fights on the front lines of battle, there are six people working behind the scenes to keep him in action. Food, medicine, transport, administration, medics, and those who work in the factories producing the ammunition he needs to fight. If you run out of food, you will not fight very long.

provision

2) Communication: There is power in agreement. If you can disrupt the enemy’s ability to communicate with each other, you can divide and conquer his goods.

(Mat 12:25 NIV) Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

(Mat 12:26 NIV) If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?

divided kingdom

Just like we can disrupt Satan’s communication lines, so he seeks to destroy ours. Firstly, he seeks to get us so busy that our prayer time becomes simply religious one-way petitions to God, instead of beautiful communion, where we both speak and listen.

3) Fuel: I remember hearing of a battle when Nazi Germany attacked Russia. The wise Russians, simply fled, taking what they could carry, and destroying what might have helped provide for the advancing German army. The Germans ran out of gas in their tanks, and food for their men, and had to quit the assault.

Our food and fuel is the Word of God. (Mat 4:4 NIV) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” If we are to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might, we quickly recognize that our word level = our victory level. If we are daily feeding upon the word of God in our own personal lives, and keeping our prayer life up, Satan sees us, and finds someone else to attack that day.

bread

4) Ammunition – I asked a tank commander one time about combat missions, and priorities. He said that communication outposts are their first targets, then fuel and ammunition dumps. Your weapons of war are found in scripture in (Eph 6:10 NIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

(Eph 6:11 NIV) Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

(Eph 6:12 NIV) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

(Eph 6:13 NIV) Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

(Eph 6:14 NIV) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

(Eph 6:15 NIV) and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

(Eph 6:16 NIV) In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

(Eph 6:17 NIV) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

(Eph 6:18 NIV) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

(Eph 6:19 NIV) Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,

Notice that in all these weapons, most are defensive while two are offensive. The sword of the spirit, (word of God) and the lance of intercession (prayer).

A gun doesn’t do you any good without any bullets. Next lesson I’m going to give you twenty-one weapons from the Word you can use to enforce Jesus victory in your life.

Today, you warriors, I want to teach you about battle strategy. Just as Satan has a personal plan to destroy you, God has a victory plan for you in every arena of life. Satan can not be everywhere at once, nor does he have the power to stop you when you obey God. God is Omnipresent, Omniscient, and Omnipotent. That means He is everywhere at once, He is all knowing, and He is all powerful. Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2016/02/13/warrior-strength/

Now before you warriors step into the fray and blast satan out of the water with the almighty artillery God has entrusted me to give to you, you need to survey the battlefield.

As a child of God, you have quickly discovered this world is not the way Jesus intended it to be; the impersonalness of the world, the temptations we face in our flesh, the challenges we face as we are commanded to love people who would hurt us, and who do things contrary to what the Bible says they should, and then the constant onslaught of the enemy could leave us confused broken and bruised. If, that is, it were not for our Almighty God.

world

Jesus said the (John 10:10 NIV) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

He wants us to experience that life he purchased for us, but certain things we need to get aggressive with in order to experience that life. We are more than conquerors in Him. (Rom 8:37 NIV)

Yet, a conqueror has to conquer something to receive the title. Which means there has to be a battle somewhere.

There was. Jesus, our victorious champion, came, defeated the devil at every turn, and died to pay the price for our sins, then rose victorious from death hell and the grave.

(John 12:31 NIV) Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.

He was going to do it, and then he did it.

The Bible says that Jesus spoiled principalities and made a show of them openly.

Col 1:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

In fact, had the devil and his crowd known about what Jesus was really doing on the cross, he would have never have allowed him to die.

(1 Cor 2:6 NIV) We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

(1 Cor 2:7 NIV) No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

(1 Cor 2:8 NIV) None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Authority2

Now, authority and the sword of the Lord have been handed to you, and you must conquer, and as Jesus did, fight your own fight of faith.

keys to kingdom

There are three battlegrounds each of us must fight upon: the world, the flesh and the devil.

Let’s take a quick look at these three fields of battle in the Word, and see how and understanding of these can help us get free, and stay free from every trap and snare of the enemy.

The World:

world overlook

(Mat 4:8 NIV) Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

(James 4:4 NIV) You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

(1 John 2:15 NIV) Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

(1 John 2:16 NIV) For everything in the world–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does–comes not from the Father but from the world.

(1 John 2:17 NIV) The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

What does all this mean? Well this word world used here simply means “orderly arrangement”. I saw a T-shirt I liked that said ‘Rage against the Machine’. Although God is on the throne, He is not a cruel dictator. Rules without relationship equals rebellion. The sense of what John and James are describing to us is this: God wants a vital living relationship with us, his prime creation. Ever been involved in system that has become impersonal? A dead lifeless set of rules that crush the spirits of all those who are under them? This is the worldly system. In and of itself it is dead, lifeless. God wants us to live ordered lives, not religious ones. Although there is order in the kingdom of God, order is not God; Jesus is Lord. People, to prevent corruption and to help bring order to society created rules and laws in society. We are to submit to the laws of the lands to the degree that these laws agree with the Word of God. Godly government is designed to bring light and life and liberty to all that submit to it. Yet there is an ordered system that is directly opposed to Jesus Lordship. Territories that need to be possessed in prayer, and taken for the kingdom of God.

(Mat 4:8 NIV) Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

Notice there are kingdoms here that rightfully belong to God by right of creation and redemption, yet are being ruled by the devil and his demons. In a later course, I’ll teach those of you who continue with us how this works, but for now, all you need to know is that they exist, and that they are evil.

This worldly system is a dead thing, and only produces death. Yet, our Jesus brings life from the dead.

(John 6:33 NIV) For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

(John 6:51 NIV) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

How? As we pray for governments and situations, God makes a supply of his Spirit available, and begins to flow into these dead places with His River. Like water on dry ground, the soil softens, seed germinate, and the land begins to produce something. Prayer Produces Life! We die to our desire, and plan for a time, that families, cities, and nations might experience the life and grace of God.

(1 John 4:4 NIV) You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

If you want further reading on “the world”, I recommend a little book by an author named Watchman Nee entitled, “Love not the World”.

So, we see, the world is an enemy of God, and of us.

The Flesh

flesh overcome

(Gal 5:19 NIV) The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

(Gal 5:20 NIV) idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions

(Gal 5:21 NIV) and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Now the NIV calls ‘the flesh’, the sinful nature here in this passage. I want to make a point here.

Ever heard someone say, “the devil made me do it?”

Let’s take a look here at the types of behaviours exhibited here and see.

Sexual immorality, notice here that God calls this a work of the flesh, not a demon. In order to end up in bed with someone outside of marriage, it doesn’t just happen. You need to make a decision to let your flesh rule you. The devil may put the thought in your mind, but you are the one that sins against God and goes for it.

The way we deal with flesh is different than demons. We don’t cast out flesh. No, individually we must crucify it. We must kill it. God won’t do it for us. Now, if you continue in any of these behaviors long enough, you attract demons. Like vultures they are drawn to the smell of rotting flesh and dead things. Yet, even if you have opened yourself to a demon in one of these areas, you need to repent, and go to the cross, and stop doing your sin. Remember the difference between Remorse and Repentance.

crucify the flesh

Well, let’s look at these.

Impurity and debauchery – pornography, masturbation, and homosexuality.

(Gal 5:20 NIV) Idolatry

Giving some other person or thing more affection than you give God. This can even be your family, your children, your job, and any thing that you allow to take more of your affection than you do God. Reality check. How do you spend your time? How much time do you give God in prayer and in the word, and in His agenda? Is He your Lord, or just your savior?

Witchcraft – This is not some freaky looking dude with a cape and wand necessarily. Sure, witches and warlocks exist, but this word has a deeper meaning that that. Whenever you manipulate, dominate or control another person to get your own way, its witchcraft. Even Christians, that pray prayers from their soul instead of their spirit, attempting to exert their will over another, instead of praying the will and Word of God for another, enter into witchcraft.

Hatred – A strong negative reaction, a feeling toward someone considered an enemy as well as loving someone less than another. I see this in families all the time. They survive together by the grace of God, but mom or dad has their favorites. Sibling rivalry. Despising one in your heart. God is not that way, and neither should we be. Even if we don’t like what someone is doing, we should love them, and treat them with as much respect and fairness as we can.

Discord – Strife. Arguing, bickering. That tit-for tat mentality. It’s flesh.

Jealousy – is used in three senses in Scripture; (1) as intolerance of rivalry or unfaithfulness; (2) as a disposition suspicious of rivalry or unfaithfulness; and (3) as hostility towards a rival or one believed to enjoy an advantage. Sense 3 approximates envy. God is jealous for His people Israel in sense 1, that is, God is intolerant of rival gods (Ex. 20:5; 34:14; Deut. 4:24; 5:9) One expression of God’s jealousy for Israel is God’s protection of His people from enemies. Thus God’s jealousy includes avenging Israel (Ezek. 36:6; 39:25; Nah. 1:2; Zech. 1:14; 8:2). Phineas is described as jealous with God’s jealousy (Num. 25:11,13, sometimes translated zealous for God). Elijah is similarly characterized as jealous (or zealous) for God (1 Kings 19:10,14). In the New Testament Paul speaks of his divine jealousy for the Christians at Corinth (2 Cor. 11:2).

Numbers 5:11-30 concerns the process by which a husband suspicious of his wife’s unfaithfulness might test her. Most often human jealousy involves hostility towards a rival. Joseph’s brothers were jealous (Gen. 37:11) and thus sold their brother into slavery (Acts 7:9). In Acts 17:5 a jealous group among the Jews incited the crowd against Paul. Jealousy, like envy, is common in vice lists (Rom. 13:13; 2 Cor. 12:20; Gal. 5:20-21). Jealousy is regarded as worse than wrath or anger (Prov. 27:4). James regarded jealousy (or bitter envy) as characteristic of earthy, demonic wisdom (3:14) and as the source of all disorder and wickedness (3:16).

envy

Fits of rage – These little childish temper tantrums are nothing more than this: flesh. When a grown man, uses the physical strength God gave him to break things or people, well, he has made a decision as to how he needs to be responded to. He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword. Its really simple, either you rule your temper, and submit it to the Lordship of Jesus (we call that self-control, a fruit of the spirit), or anger rules us, and Jesus is not Lord in that area of our life. It is a life or death issue, we must kill our rage, or it will kill us.

manhood temper

Selfish ambition – flesh. Whereas in (1 Tim 3:1 NIV) we read: Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. So, we see that Godly ambition is a good thing. God wants you to be the best you can possible be for him. Yet, what if we build a house, a dream, get that degree, build a business, that was not the will of God for us? Wood, hay, and stubble: worthless in the day of judgment, of no eternal value. What a waste of our life, in light of what Jesus offers!

Dissensions, factions – bickering, cliques. God hates it, it’s flesh.

Envy – Who are you to get that thing! Why should they be blessed when I worked just as hard. No, rather. Glory! God blessed you? Let’s praise Him together, because I’m nest in line.

Drunkenness orgies – Self explanatory.

Again, notice that these are works of the flesh, and the cure for these is a crucified life, not a devil cast out. Most of the problems we face in this life come from this arena. Dealing with our own stuff, and the flesh of others.

The cure for flesh is spiritual growth and crucifixion. People need to feed on the word of God to grow out of this kind of behavior. (1 Cor 3:1 NIV) and kill fleshly desires that arise.

Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly–mere infants in Christ.

(1 Cor 3:2 NIV) I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

(1 Cor 3:3 NIV) You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?

See here. These Christians were still acting like babies spiritually, so Paul could not teach them all that he had for them.

Until you master yourself, you are not ready to go into serious battle against demons.

And having in a readiness to revenge alldisobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Ro 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Col 3:5 Mortify (kill, deaden, deprive of pleasure) therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Bottom line, kill your flesh by feeding upon the Word and walking in the Sprit, or it will kill you.

The Devil

satan
We looked at where he came from and some of his tactics. Two good books on this area of Scripture are: Spiritual Warfare by Dean Sherman, and The Bondage Breaker by Dr. Neil Anderson. I

(2 Cor 10:3 NIV) For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.

(2 Cor 10:4 NIV) The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

(2 Cor 10:5 NIV) We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

(2 Cor 10:6 NIV) And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

When we go to war in the spirit, we begin and end with victory. Jesus won our victory 2000 years ago when he purchased victory for you and I. He has granted His authority to you, so that position-ally each of us have authority in each of these arena’s to enforce that blood-bought victory in our generation.

When Satan rears his ugly head in your life, you need to pick up the correct weapon, and blow him away. When the worldly system seeks to reproduce after its own kind, and a government seeks to implement legislation or has in place legislation that is not of God, we need to pick up the appropriate weapon of war, and change it. Authority does not rest solely in the hands of carnal man, but in the blood-bought church of the living God. When you are tempted to sin rather than fight, your own selfish fleshly way needs to remember that there was one beaten beyond human recognition for you. Blood was shed for you, and a holy God who loves you, but will never agree with sin. In the moment of trial, Remember

(1 Cor 10:13 NIV) No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

And when someone else is in the flesh, decide to stir up the love of God shed abroad in you heart by the Holy Ghost, and determine to forgive them, and bless them like Jesus taught us. Just because they are being an idiot, doesn’t mean you have to join them in it.

Next lesson, I’m going to give you some bullets for your gun, and teach you 21 weapons of spiritual warfare.

Let’s Pray:

“Father, thank you for helping me to understand, the battles I face in the world, my flesh, and with the devil. I choose to walk in faith, in the victory that overcomes the world. By your grace, I will crucify my flesh, and Satan, I command you to leave my life, in the name and authority of my Lord Jesus Christ! AMEN!”

Give in faith!

1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown [the seed of] spiritual good among you, [is it too] much if we reap from your material benefits?

1 Corinthians 9:14 [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel.

Paul goes on to say, that he did not use his position as a minister of the gospel to take up offerings, rather he worked, making tents, to support himself. You might notice here, that Paul was not married, nor did he have children. Family responsibilities take time, and just as you bust a move on your job to provide for your family, I work every bit as hard, doing this, faithful to the Lord in prayer and the ministry of His Word, to you.

I will never charge for this: it my responsibility to God, my calling. Freely I have been given, now, I freely give…

As you give, hear Holy Spirit what to give, and honestly expect God to reward you for your giving.

Matt 10: 41 He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.

I am a five-fold ministry gift and office – this is my life – I pray, I hear, I write, and wonderful things happen. You have your job description, I have mine – this is mine….

I have ‘see through’ faith for you, in this: Gal 3: 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

I believe I have a responsibility before God to be like Jesus, in every offering I receive. I receive it with thanksgiving, just like Jesus did the little boys lunch.

Then, because I walk and live by faith according to the blessing of Abraham, I believe that God will take your seed sown, and multiply it, according to what the blessing of Abraham promises:

Genesis 22:17 In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies

It has been a joy to me, to see the hand of the living God act in the lives of those of you who have supported us this year!

Before my friend Tom Leding died, he laid hands upon me at one of his meetings and prayed: ‘Father, may the anointing of financial increase that you have placed upon my life, be imparted to Chris, right now!’ As you know Tom has served on the board of Rhema for many years, and has walked in financial prosperity for many decades.

It’s working! I have heard wonderful testimonies of financial miracles, as we have prayed for people, everywhere we go!

Many have seen tremendous blessing come into your households, and for this we give thanks, and give Jesus all the glory!

Sharpen Your Blade!

Sharpen your Blade!
sparks
Pr 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

We walk in love, and operate by faith. This verse reminds me of something I heard some years ago, during a leadership meeting.

The minister read this verse, and made the statement: “Seems God takes great delight, when strong leaders, both moving in the same direction, hit each other a glancing blow, and to those on the outside looking in, sparks fly!

He went on to say, that it reminded him of a cole chisel, that if you hit it from the side, it simply sharpens the cutting edge, that you only dull it if you hit head on.

I am a strong leader, and sometimes in my passion and zeal, in working with other leaders, sparks fly. My prayer is that I never dull anothers edge, but that we continually sharpen one another in the love of God.

Pr 9:8 : rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

I am the kind of guy that would rather have someone confront and correct me when I am wrong, than gossip behind my back about me. Bring it on! If I’m wrong, I will quickly repent, receive instruction, and correct myself, and lets get back in the fight, together.

Pr 27:5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.

Yep, faith produces God’s power, and as we move in the anointing to reap harvests in God, we can cut a wide swath. However, while all this reaping, moving and shaking is going on, the oil that makes the combine move, must be the love of God.

scythe
Ga 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Let’s work our faith, but let’s keep love flowing, so that we can continually sharpen one another, even when the sparks are flying!

I have learned in life, that I either grow in responsibility, or I gotta go…

I either allow myself to be instructed, or I become part of the problem.

Here is my question to you today: ‘Who are you going to sharpen today, and who are you going to allow to sharpen you?’

I would love to hear your thoughts…

Let’s Pray:
‘Father, we love you, and are determined to make an impact with our lives, and bear much fruit for the gospel. Let us not be a stumbling block to the people you have called us to walk with, serve with, and support, and may kingdom conflict only produce the sharpening of our blade, as we encourage one another on to even great exploits, for your kingdom and your glory. Amen’

Timing…

Again, I find myself awake in the night…

night speak
Ps 17:2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.
3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

Great passage of encouragement for those of us recognizing the call of God upon our lives.

Recognizing that certain things will only occur in His timing, no matter how much we long for it, our commission will come only at the sentence issued from His lips. In the meantime, we call forth those things that be not, as though they were, believing we receive the things we have been shown, walking it out by faith, recognizing that in the journey, the struggle, He is protecting, delivering us, and refining us, and qualifying us for His commission and the responsibility of it.

He is determined to make us into the character and likeness of Jesus in this generation:

Rom 8:29 ¶ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestine to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Purity of heart and holiness are His aim, people may see our outward actions and consequences, but God views not only our what’s, but our why’s:

Heart is used in Scripture as the most comprehensive term for the authentic person. It is the part of our being where we desire, deliberate, and decide. It has been described as “the place of conscious and decisive spiritual activity,” “the comprehensive term for a person as a whole; his feelings, desires, passions, thought, understanding and will,” and “the center of a person. The place to which God turns.”
J. Stowell, Fan The Flame, Moody, 1986, p. 13

Let us rest tonight, in the faith of the psalmist: 15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

He can change us in the night…He still speaks..

Let’s pray:
‘Father, I thank you for the call you have placed upon my life, to bring your change and grace to the earth, in this, my generation. Keep forming the character of Jesus in me, I will not fight you in it. May my faith remain unfeigned, unleashed, and undefeated, as your unconquerable kingdom comes to me, and through me in the earth, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’
