Husbands…

Husbands:

1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Attended a marriage conference this weekend with Dr. Nasir Saddikki, of wisdom ministries. While I was sitting there, as he taught on the Word wrt marriage. God showed me 7 things for husbands out of this verse. Never heard them taught like this before, so I hope they bless you:

1. Dwell = Live with your wife (With no physical abuse, no separation, no witholding sex, no stonewalling)
2. According to knowledge = Learn about YOUR wife. Israeli soldiers are not allowed to go into battle or business for one full year after marriage, but must stay home and learn about her. De 24:5 When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
3. Give honour to her = Value = Do not become complacent, nor take her for granted. Value her, above the children, business, ministry, or money.
4. As unto the weaker vessel = Remember men we formed out of dirt, women were hand crafted, and built by God. Weaker her means more refined, like fine crystal. Both clay pots and delicate crystal goblets are vessals, the crystal is far more valuable. Treat her with delicacy. Gen 2:7,22
5. Heirs together – The two of us have become one flesh. I cannot prosper God’s way, without her, for He pours out upon us grace, together.
6. That your prayers be unhindered – The big checklist in God. How is your business or ministry doing? Finances? If we are not treating our wives correctly, God will not answer our prayers, and our finances will dry up. Our marriage is higher priority to God, than our children, our money, our business, or our ministry.

Mal 2:13 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.
14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

Not loving our wives, with a pure heart causes God to refuse our offerings, and to stand as witness between us and our wives. He will uphold our marriage covenant, with His power. We must be faithful to our wives, no matter how frustrated we may feel, no matter how weary in well doing.

Make a list men, of 10 things you love about your wife, and tell her. Tell God. Amplify these things in prayer, and in your home. Then be brutally honest with God about her shortcomings. Do not tell her, only HE can change her. He will make a way, where there seems to be no way

Let’s Pray:

‘Father, make me the man of God You need me to be. Give me grace to love my wife, my children, protecting and providing for them well, in Your name I pray Lord Jesus.’Amen

Wealth – Gods Way

Wealth – Gods Way

wealth

Gen 26:12 When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the Lord blessed him. 13 He became a very rich man, and his wealth continued to grow.

I see a couple life principals in the life of Isaac that help me this morning:

  1. He honored God. He prayed, obeyed, and sought God for direction. In the natural, this was a dry year, a year of famine, but because of supernatural direction, In the natural, it appeared to be good business sense to go down to Egypt, and he was obviously thinking about it. Yet, He prayed, and renewed the covenant his family had with God, and God told him to stay in Gehar, and not to go down to Egypt. Isaac planted his precious seed, worked his field, and received a bumper crop that year.
    Seed the heavens
  1. He honored his parents. All his life, he served and obeyed his dad Abraham, and learned the principals of love by which he operated. Abraham had 400 employees, so while we know him as the father of faith, he is also a leader with great integrity and responsibility. We know he is governed by love for his people, as demonstrated by the way he handled the conflict over well water with the herders. He didn’t end the conflict by digging more wells, not with the sword, though he was a warrior and could have surely handled it that way.
    honor wives
  2. Though I said it in point one, I say it again. He worked. While waiting for a woman for his wife we see him m Gen 24:63 One evening as he was walking and meditating in the fields, he looked up and saw the camels coming. He understood the natural laws of the land, seedtime and harvest. He met with God in the fields, while checking and carefully guarding his crops, meditating on the promises of God after his days work. Surely he began his day with God, and now we see him ending it seeking our heavenly father. He was single at this time, and he was not a prodigal, chasing women, for he exemplified Proverbs 24:27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house He got his education, learned to handle the responsibility of the family business, then allowed God to add to him his precious Rebekah.
    works

This is all I am going to say today, but as I  meditate upon it more, I will probably add more:

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

unity pray

Prosperity Gods way is not about just money. It includes wisdom to deal with your career, the ability to balance the conflicting demands of family, work, culture, employees. It includes your health, no fun having money, when you are sucking your meals through a feeding tube…

God is love, and He is holy. In my opening verse, we see the organic nature of God’s prosperity: Gen 26: 13 He became a very rich man, and his wealth continued to grow.

We grow, spiritually, academically, relationally, in responsibility, in wisdom, ‘as our soul prospers’ and lo and behold, our wealth grows too.

Let’s do our part, and determine to grow.

Let’s pray:

‘Father, I determine to serve You, and seek You for Your supernatural directions and provisions. I want to grow. Teach me how to take more responsibility, and to grow as an adult, learning continually academically, spiritually, financially, and becoming a loving, firm spouse, parent, and honorable member of my community. I ask that you prosper me, and bless my house, and the families of all of those I am called to serve and lead. In Your wonderful name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen.’

Your Choices Make Your Life!

choices lifeGenerational curse?

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Ezekial 18:19 “‘What?’ you ask. ‘Doesn’t the child pay for the parent’s sins?’ No! For if the child does what is just and right and keeps my decrees, that child will surely live. 20 The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness. 21 But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die.

I have seen people come out of homes that were drug centers, crack houses, and parents that are still living the lifestyle of sex, drugs and rock and roll.

Yet, they have chosen to live for Jesus, and do right. Fighting to be honest, loving, clean from the way they were raised.

This is the glory of the gospel. Even if someone was immoral, having sex with anything that moved, they become a born-again virgin in him, cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus!

Even if parents were addicts, alcoholics, criminals, liars, and thieves, a child can choose Jesus, life, and a life of blessing, purpose, joy, purity, and peace!

There is no sickness, disease, addiction, or criminal behavior that can be passed down generationally now, to anyone that wants a better way of life. These things are the result of the curse, but God speaks here: The sins, sicknesses and failures of the parents, will NOT be laid upon the children who choose right!

It is written: Galatians 3:13
Now Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law’s condemnation, by himself becoming a curse for us when he was crucified. For the scripture is plain: ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.

We can freely choose to live honestly, righteously, in purpose and passion before His throne, and our families, our homes, our children can be blessed of heaven, with a bright and glorious future!

choices hard

Jesus is a good shepherd, and if you decide to seek Him first, and let Him lead you out of the messes life has dealt you, you will discover Him to be all powerful, faithful, and a God of miracles.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (PHILLIPS)

God still governs human experience

13 No temptation has come your way that is too hard for flesh and blood to bear. But God can be trusted not to allow you to suffer any temptation beyond your powers of endurance. He will see to it that every temptation has a way out, so that it will never be impossible for you to bear it.

Jesus is the way, and the Waymaker!

waymakerLet’s pray:
‘Father, I choose to do right. I refuse to be limited by my past, or the bad choices of my ancestors. I am your child, royalty, and I will fight for purity and righteousness in my life, and this generation. I choose Jesus rule and Lordship in every area of my life, now! Amen’

Children – Obey Your Parents IN THE LORD

It is the responsibility of parents to raise their children in the training, nurture and admonition of the Lord, in love.

“In raising our children we replace innocence, with purity” – Kellie Copeland

Ephesians (NASB)

Family Relationships

6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right

Notice this says for children to obey their parent ‘IN THE LORD’. For this is right.

Ephesians_6-1

As I have traveled, and seen broken homes and families, I have seen children asked to do horrible things: steal, perform sexual acts, lie, cuss, go to the store to buy parents smokes, smoke dope, cheat, etc.

every child

Jesus is the Lord, and He is holy!

He hates parents that instruct their children to do evil!

Matthew 18:6

[ Causing to Stumble ] “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Yet, I teach children to obey their parents, to love, honor and respect them.

To do their homework, clean their rooms, do household chores, joyfully as unto Jesus, to put a smile on His face.

Proverbs 20:11

Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?

He knows, He cares, He loves, and He blesses obedience and honorable actions.

Yet, if any adult, parent, or otherwise tells you to do evil – you are NOT required to obey them!

children tell truth

What has this looked like, in my 25 years of ministering to children?

Some very complicated situations, when children come to me and tell me of a mother or father doing drugs or drinking, and  we pray!

parents off drugs

I have watched Jesus answer those pure hearted prayers of children, very, very quickly and powerfully.

Whether adults, or children, if we have received Jesus, we have been adopted into God’s family, and are children of God.

John 1:12 (NIV)

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

We are never required to obey anyone instructing us to do wrong, ever…

Let’s Pray:

‘Father, I think of all the children who are being taught evil by parents who are not serving you. I pray you deliver these children from evil! Show them Your love, protection, deliverance, truth, and holiness, so deeply that they might walk in purity, holiness, and honor before you. Where parents are doing wrong to their children, stop them, whatever it takes, and may children be given Your gift of courage to do what is right, even if their parents are setting a wrong example. I ask this Father, knowing I am heard, for I ask in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen.’

FOUR SECRETS TO A FOREVER MARRIAGE – PRESS RELEASE:

TULSA, OK— In his early thirties, business entrepreneur, Michael Letney, had just closed the deal on a contract with one of the largest retailers in the world. He smiled as he walked out of their corporate offices little knowing that as he put his signature on the dotted line, he had just set into motion a roller coaster that would cost him his business, his financial stability and could have cost him his marriage.

The lessons learned during that season until now, from this “not-so-perfect” husband, restored the trust that had been broken with his wife and ultimately restored his marriage. They are lessons which are foundational to every successful marriage. In reality, they are four secrets that will transform any relationship.

Can it really be that simple? Yes!

Did you know that each year approximately 2.3 million couples will marry in America alone? That equals 6,200 weddings a day. These couples will spend over $72 billion collectively just to make sure that their special day is perfect.

But what is the “budget” couples create in regards to time, money and effort needed to ensure that the “after party of marriage” is as successful as the wedding day itself?

If couples will choose to make these four important principles an ongoing part of their relationship, they can transform their relationship to one in which their house truly becomes a home and where the two become one. The reward of such a marriage is happiness, wholeness and unity.

So what does it take? Transparency, truth and trust which in turn creates the reward of unity. Like four layers of a wedding cake, each build on the foundation of the other. Without one, you cannot achieve the other. They are all essential ingredients to achieve true unity and happiness for a forever marriage.

Many young people today say that “happily ever after” doesn’t exist. We agree. Fairy tales aren’t real, but a forever marriage can be, for those willing to apply the practical steps and inspiring message found in “Four Secrets to A Forever Marriage” where you can happily live a “forever after.”

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE BOOK:

Being a pastor in university communities for over 34 years, I have performed numerous wedding ceremonies as well as engaged in numerous premarital counseling situations.

The books I assigned for counseling were and are good. But I wish that this book had been written. It brings more than just marriage insights, but reveals those insights through the grid of mistakes, pain, humiliation, and loss. “Four Secrets to a Forever Marriage” is a book that grabs your attention because it reveals not just the surface issues of loss, but the sobering “heart” issues that are foundational for every marriage and family.

I will be using this book as part of the premarital counseling the as well as a valued tool in helping husbands and wives build and rebuild their “Forever Marriage.” Michael and Barbie’s story will inspire and uplift you. I will be recommending this book to my friends and giving it as a gift to young couples.

This book is great… from a marriage perspective, business perspective and I can even see how it can benefit our nation as you talk about

the strength and importance of the marriage foundation.

All I can say is I am honored and excited to be able to help you promote this and highly recommend it.

The Blog – Approaching 1000

Looked on my blog site this morning,  to discover that this is my 995th blog post! (There are now 1072!)blog think

Whew!

I have thought that typing up all of these thoughts that have needed expression over the years might just change the world.

Perhaps, some of them actually will.

blog

They have resulted in three published books, and many open doors to speak or answer difficult questions for people.

Yet, it is a labor of love, a ministry unto the Lord, because many of the great things I have written, have clearly not been read by many people.

Guess Jesus left the 99, to rescue the one….

Gotta believe this verse this morning:

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Give in faith!

1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown [the seed of] spiritual good among you, [is it too] much if we reap from your material benefits?

1 Corinthians 9:14 [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel.

Paul goes on to say, that he did not use his position as a minister of the gospel to take up offerings, rather he worked, making tents, to support himself. You might notice here, that Paul was not married, nor did he have children. Family responsibilities take time, and just as you bust a move on your job to provide for your family, I work every bit as hard, doing this, faithful to the Lord in prayer and the ministry of His Word, to you.

I will never charge for this: it my responsibility to God, my calling. Freely I have been given, now, I freely give…

As you give, hear Holy Spirit what to give, and honestly expect God to reward you for your giving.

Matt 10: 41 He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.

I am a five-fold ministry gift and office – this is my life – I pray, I hear, I write, and wonderful things happen. You have your job description, I have mine – this is mine….

I have ‘see through’ faith for you, in this: Gal 3: 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

I believe I have a responsibility before God to be like Jesus, in every offering I receive. I receive it with thanksgiving, just like Jesus did the little boys lunch.

Then, because I walk and live by faith according to the blessing of Abraham, I believe that God will take your seed sown, and multiply it, according to what the blessing of Abraham promises:

Genesis 22:17 In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies

It has been a joy to me, to see the hand of the living God act in the lives of those of you who have supported us this year!

Many have seen tremendous blessing come into your households, and for this we give thanks, and give Jesus all the glory!

There is a saying, that the apple usually doesn’t fall far from the tree. My 10 year old son, is amazing! We homeschool using an on-line school system called Epic Charter schools, and one of the off-shoots of that is that Jedidiah has really picked up computer knowledge. He an his friends all play Minecraft (which I monitor closely), and now he is learning how to make video’s. Because we travel and homeschool, this is one of the ways he stays in touch with his friends.

He wants to build an on-line network, and needs subscribers to his channel. Would you take a second and subscribe?

Silverfin Chronicles: The Legend of Snaggle Tooth Scar!

The Legend of Snaggle Tooth Scar.

As told by Silverfin, the dolphin.

dolphin

Introduction:
In the warm green waters through the Caribbean sea, there has been an epic battle raging between a dolphin and a shark. Not just any dolphin mind you, a very special and brave dolphin named Silverfin.

Silverfin is a strikingly handsome Atlantic Spotted Dolphin, known through that region as a friend to all reef fish, defender of the reef, enemy of all predators there.

His particular nemesis is a huge hammerhead shark, known throughout the depths, as Snaggle tooth scar.

This monstrosity of a fish hunted deep in the ocean depths preying upon any unsuspecting fish or dolphin that found it’s unlucky self in his line of sight that day.

Silverfin knew him well, and remained in a state of vigilant awareness of his surroundings, ever ready to attack and protect his own.

He had first faced this horrible monster creature as a innocent dolphin calf, but that story is not known by many….

This is the story, of Snaggle Tooth Scar….

striped parrot fish

One upon a time, Dorothy the striped parrot fish, called all the other reef fish into her coral grotto, to gather around, as she took them all to school.

“Listen up you fish and fishettes, I’m going to tell you a story, about SilverFin’s nemesis, and where he came from, and how he got his name. I’m going to tell you about Snaggle Tooth Scar.

Suddenly, all the little fishes gasped and huddled close to one another, carefully looking over their shoulders, as that terrible name was mentioned. All the flitting around playfully ended instantly, and everyone looked at Dorothy, for she was a wise elder on the reef, and their parents taught them to respect their elders.

fish school

This is how the story goes:

One day on the reef, came Mr. Soldier fish, with a report of several fish missing from his school.

soldier

Mr. Soldier Fish

It seems they had been swimming at the edge of the reef, where the greenish waters, met the deep ocean blue. Report, someone had heard a sound, of a ‘swish’ and suddenly, there had been no more fish.

soldier school

Sergeant Major immediately interrupted the conversation at soldier fish school, pulling rank on the soldier bringing the report.

sgt major

A Sargent major fish

He told them he had heard a legend from one of the older momma fish deep inside the reef.

reef

So, he commanded all the soldier fish to follow him to mamma fishes cave.

Momma fish began the story:

Once upon a time, in the beautiful greenish waters of the inner reef,  in the place where Mamma fish, taught their children to school, came the legend of a great hanger head shark, named Snaggle tooth Scar.

cartoon

Here is how the story goes:

Out in the deep blue ocean, where sharks and schools of fish are commonly seen, lived a giant hanger head shark. Now, actually he was a hammer head shark, but baby fishes, couldn’t quite say it correctly, so they called him, ‘hanger head’ because his giant head was shaped like a coat hanger!.

imagesBCJGAFPS

This particular hanger head, had grown so big, he could barely see.

shark1

As you can see, his head had grown too wide, his eyes too far apart, so that he saw cross-eyed, and everything appeared double to him.

double vision

So he did what every fish on the reef did, he went to see Mr. Look down, the eye doctor, to learn if he could be fitted for some glasses.

look1

Mr. Look Down Fish

By this time, he was very hungry, having been unable to catch any fish for some time, and when he showed up at Mr. Look-down’s coral grotto that served as his office, Mr. Lookdown figured out pretty quickly what  was on his mind, and it had nothing to do with glasses. Why, that hanger head wanted to eat him!

lookdown

So, he carefully backed up towards the coral head he called home, asking Mr. Hanger head what he needed.

Mr. Hanger head, told him that he had gone cross-eyed, and needed himself some spectacles to correct the problem.

glasses

As soon as Mr. Look-down got close enough to a hole in the coral, quick as a whip, he darted into the coral, as Mr. Hanger head did, what hanger heads do, and swish, zoomed in to eat him.

Yet, he could not stop in time, and crashed headfirst into the sharp coral, breaking several teeth, and cutting open his nose.

Enraged, he swam off bleeding, and now making a horrible noise as he swam, for those broken teeth, now protruded from his mouth, as ‘snaggle teeth’, and each time he moved his huge tail, his mouth would cause a sound to be heard with each stroke, ‘swish, swish, swish’.

snaggle tooth

In time, the cut on his nose healed into a huge scar.

When it did, he learned a horrible truth.

Why, he could close one eye, and line up the other eye, with the scar on his nose, and with one fierce stroke of his massive tail, swish, and there would be no fish.

sight

So, somewhere out in the deep ocean blue, is the sound that makes, momma fishes tuck their baby fishes, deep inside their homes on the reef, swish, swish, swish.

Now children, this is the Legend of Snaggle-Tooth Scar SilverFin told the children at school that day:

reef1

“What can we learn from this story?” Dorothy asked them.

Suddenly, there was a shadow over the little fishes heads, and suddenly, they were not alone. They looked up, and who did they see? Why, Silverfin himself!

spotted dolphin

“It’s Silverfin” one little fish exclaimed!

Sure enough, bigger than life, SilverFin had silently glided in, ever protecting the reef.

“Hi everyone” He chuckled, with obvious love in His voice. “How are you children doing today?”

spotted dolphin looking

Everyone tried to talk at once, but Dorothy shushed them by saying: “Hello SilverFin, I was just asking the children what they learned from our story today”.

SilverFin smiled and said: ‘Pay attention to Dorothy, students, she is a great teacher, now what did you all learn today?”

One little fish raised his fin and said:

“That we need to stay in school?”

Yes, it is important we stay in school little one, any other answers, SilverFin asked?

“We need to listen to and obey our parents”

“That’s right” said Silverfin, anybody else?

“Fences and doors, keep the good guys in and the bad guys out?, Like our coral reef, prevents big hungry hanger-heads from coming into our homes?”

Yes, child, boundaries are good things that protect us from danger and harm.

Anyone else?

A bold little fish spoke up: “I betcha you could whip that old hanger head SilverFin! I heard about dolphins killing sharks is that true?”

SilverFin chuckled, and said “Yes, we do kill sharks that try and threaten us or those we are called to protect, but we don’t go looking for a fight, we only hurt them when they try to attack us”

dolphin attack

The little bold fish said, so we learned that there are warriors out there that will protect us, and fight for us against the bad guys if they are around.

Good job class! SilverFin said, so let’s remember these rules:

1. We must honor and obey our parents!

Ephesians 6

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

2. We need to grow, learn, and stay in school and healthy community.

2 Timothy 2:15

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

1 Peter 2:2

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation
Heb 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another

3. There are warriors that are assigned to protect us as we do right – Angels, soldiers, and policemen

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven

Romans 13 New International Version (NIV)

Submission to Governing Authorities

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

This is the first of ‘The SilverFin Chronicles’ than my beautiful princess daughter Keila and I are writing together. Hope you like it!
