Four Crazy Faith Friends!

Four crazy Faith Friends
roof off
Luke 5:19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

I love this picture! I have worked for many years as a carpenter, around very skilled tradesmen, working men, in many trades, able to build or fix about anything. I see here respect among men being granted to Jesus, in a wonderful way. This miracle probably occurred at Jesus personal house, and the men who tore off the roof probably knew Jesus, well. Tear off the roof? Sure why not? Jesus is a carpenter, and he knows how to cut in a roof! I see these men, as hard working men, determined to obtain a miracle for their friend or family member, and they were not going to let a crowd or a set of religious do’s and don’ts get their way! They carried their friend to the meeting where Jesus, the healing man, was preaching and teaching, and couldn’t get to Him! No problem, run around the back of the house, hoist the man up on to the roof, and simply tear the roof off to get to Jesus.
Lord build
These are the kind of crazy faith friends we all need, when the trials of life show up. Been a country song played down here called: ‘Find out who your friends are.’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JREouTHpyJE

Do you have any crazy people in your life, that are not afraid to slap heaven and earth together in prayer, to get you to Jesus, when it appears that all hell has broken loose on your life? Bible says: ‘Let the strong uphold the weak’ Ro 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Maybe you need to be one of those four strong men, that carry the burden of a weak brother or sister in the Lord, while Jesus heals them, or maybe life has dealt you such a blow from hell and sinful people, that you are not getting up, unless the Lord does a miracle. Time does not heal all wounds like the proverb says, but the power of God, can, and will if you would receive it today.
receive-it
Receive it!

I am one of your four crazy faith friends today, aggressively praying and believing for the power of God to come into your life and heal you, set you free, alert folks to help you, write you checks, or teach you what you need to know, to get out of your particular mess. God loves to take messes, and turn them in to miracles, and today is your day for one!

Let’s pray:
‘Father, I believe I receive my miracle today! I believe you are healing me, revealing to me direction, delivering me, and sending people into my life to give me favor, finances, instruction, and the help I need to get things straightened out, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’

A Shittim tree in Israel

Ex 25:10 ¶ And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

I love Jesus, and for many years now, I have worked as a carpenter, providing interior finishes to luxury home. We have used alder, cedar, oak, and poplar regularly, with a couple of jobs in hemlock, mahogany, and cherry. Have seen some beautiful wormy oak and cypress over the years, and have come to love wood. Now this wood here, God overlaid with gold, and I guess gold is beautiful, but check out the grain pattern on the wood.

shittim1
Typical of God, when He has something built for His glory, it is beautiful, through and through.

So is it with out lives: Outwardly, he adorns us with the oil of anointing, the presence of Holy Spirit, but like this construction project, He places beauty within us too, Christ In us, the hope of glory.

Let’s pray:
Father I thank you for your presence, and power that shows forth your glory in my life! Yet, I am grateful for the beautiful inward work of grace you have done in my life, the unique and beautiful tapestry of grace you have wisely and uniquely woven in my soul, as I have walked with you. I thank you and praise you for it Father, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen!’

How’s this for a career move?

Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

Many people think that if we work hard, go to school, continue our education, and exercise good financial stewardship, we will prosper.

Yet, Biblical prosperity involves much more than money. How well we have seen friends that graduated college, went to work, started a family, and ‘grew apart’, then ended up in an affair, or some other mess, then ended up in divorce court. Suddenly, their dreams are shattered, and their life is ruined, and the nightmare begins: joint custody of children, trying to balance complicated relationships and schedules, and now, challenging budgets.

This is not prosperity!

A Builder Or a Wrecker

As I watched them tear a building down

A gang of men in a busy town

With a ho-heave-ho, and a lusty yell

They swung a beam and the side wall fell

I asked the foreman, “Are these men skilled,

And the men you’d hire if you wanted to build?”

He gave a laugh and said, “No, indeed,

Just common labor is all I need.”

“I can easily wreck in a day or two,

What builders have taken years to do.”

And I thought to myself, as I went my way

Which of these roles have I tried to play?

Am I a builder who works with care,

Measuring life by rule and square?

Am I shaping my work to a well-made plan

Patiently doing the best I can?

Or am I a wrecker who walks to town

Content with the labor of tearing down?

“O Lord let my life and my labors be

That which will build for eternity!”

Lord build

Ps 127:1 «A Song of degrees for Solomon.» Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

seek

This is how we are to live.

In love with Jesus, and each other, obeying His word, no matter what appears to be happening in the political arena or workplace.

This, according to this verse, will produce true prosperity, and a pleasurable life.

Want to rearrange your schedule?

Schedule in church three times/week, daily morning prayer and Bible reading, and let the Lord begin to show you His career plan, filled with goodness, blessing, peace, and true prosperity. Live the life you were born to live!

Let’s pray:

‘Father, rearrange my life, and help me to schedule you and your Word First place in all I do. Where I’ve missed it, forgive me, and deliver me I pray. I commit to your Lordship Jesus, lead me into your perfect plan for my life, and bring peace out of my storm, Amen’

Dirt Work!

Earth Moving Equipment:
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
Over the years I have been around some pretty good sized dirt crews, who move a whole lot of dirt, and dig some huge holes in the earth, that we fill with mud and steel (concrete and rebar), to lay foundations for some often pretty incredible structures.

As a carpenter, you read the prints to pull dimensions and depths, and then you go to work with a level and transit, laying out lines, and shooting depths and dimensions off a certified benchmark.
prints
Once those drag-lines, track-hoes, and power shovels get to digging, there is only one safe place on site, out of their way!

I might be working with them setting grade stakes, laying out lines, checking prints, and solving the myriad problems that occur in actual site conditions, that are not reflected on the prints (buried water, gas, electric, and telephone cables, that are not discovered by the dig inspectors),
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
yet generally, I need to let the operators work their magic, digging precisely, accurately, and setting grade with an intuitive almost sixth sense, as heavy equipment moves mountains at the hands of man…
mountain
This is the sense I got in this mornings prayer, as the Lord has my full, undivided attention. Like a seasoned craftsman, I am seeking Him for the clear design, the blueprints for the work and ministry He has set before me to build, the foundations being laid, deep in the soil of hearts of His people.

He has moved operators and laborers into place, and heavy earth-moving equipment is moving in the realm of the Spirit. Hearts are being tilled, blades are being driven deep into fallow ground, breaking through hard packed dirt, to lay foundations much stronger than any concrete or steel, used in natural construction.
fallow
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
corner stone
We may have been raised a certain way, may have grown up in a strong church, might have a tremendous family heritage, that is the foundation of our lives, our faith, our belief system. As great as this may be, when God wants to take you higher than you have ever been, He often first takes you deeper than you have ever gone in Him.

Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
foundation
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

I believe, that just as God used His words to design and decree the universe, I can use mine, under His authority, to create a better world for me, my family, and you who are the recipients of my faith and prayer…

Like the craftsman who is laying out lines, so I am declaring, decreeing, and using my faith on purpose, to call those things that be not as though they already were.
And all around me, I see dirt flying!
dirt flying
Let’s Pray:
‘Father God, I come before you today, and ask that you reveal to me, the designs, plans, and material lists that you have for my life, calling, and ministry. May I carefully, with my words, on purpose, declare Your decrees, as You break ground, confront mindsets, and establish deep truths in the heart of Your people, to carry the call upon each of their lives who you have set apart for this great work, in Your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’

A Carpenters Prayer…

Carpenters: A construction workers prayer
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
Ex 31:1 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

I used this verse to build a carpentry company, daily praying that if God would fill a man named Bezaleel with the spirit of God for all manner of workmanship, He could surely do if for our men. And He did too, we built some incredibly beautiful projects over the years, with excellence and honor to His name.

Chris Karen Walsh's photo.

Jesus was a carpenter, and I am grateful to have learned from Him for many years, and worked with some incredibly gifted craftsmen. If you are working construction, here is a prayer for you:

‘Father God, I see here in your Word that you call fill with your Spirit, craftsmen, giving them wisdom, understanding, knowledge, in all manner of workmanship. I ask Father, that you grant our people the ability to solve problems, and to devise cunning works, flowing through them in your excellence, creativity, and granting them beautiful designs to the complex problems we face trying to build in this world. Help us to understand your principals in building, in all manner of workmanship, and to glorify your name in the workplace, building not only for this life, but for eternity, through you, and the strength, power, and authority of your name Lord Jesus, Amen’

The lips of the Righteous feed many!

Use your mouth and Words on purpose!

faith speaks

There is a verse in Proverbs that reads:
Pr 10: 21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

As most of you know I owned and operated a carpentry company for many years, and as the company grew, I realized my time was far better spent estimating and bidding work, collecting checks, managing projects, ordering materials, and fixing or getting tools on the right job, on time. (If you do Facebook, and want to see some cool pics of some of the projects we built, check out: https://www.facebook.com/Grace-Interior-Trim-LLC-244907400682/?fref=ts

One day at work, as I was blazing along on my cell phone, doing sales calls, setting appointments, ordering materials, and moving at incredible speed,  a bitter carpenter said to me: ‘Must be nice, you don’t even work any more, all you do is talk on that damn phone all day!”

Even though I was writing that man’s paycheck, I took a deep breath, and asked the Lord, what He thought about the man’s comment, because there is some truth, in what the man said: Construction is not for the faint hearted, you gotta bust a move to make stuff happen, because you only get paid, for what you get built, and you are constantly working yourself out of a job. The Scripture is plain: 2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat

work overalls

When he said, ‘all you do is talk on the damn phone all day’ I was reminded of the verse:

Pr 14:23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

Another version reads: Proverbs 14:23 Amplified Bible (AMP)
23 In all labor there is profit, but idle talk leads only to poverty.

work profit

Asked the Lord, if I was wasting time on the phone, when bold and loud Holy Spirit spoke to me: Pr 10: 21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

Lips of the righteous

I wasn’t using my phone for idle chit chat, but it was a weapon of war in my hand, as a seasoned leader.

Besides, I was serving Jesus, and had a covenant with God, and when I did a moral inventory of my work week vs this man’s I realized I worked far more hours, with far more stress and responsibility than that man could presently understand.

How much more, as a minister of the gospel! We have authority, anointing, and the very living word of God upon our lips, opening the door to heaven or hell in a person’s life as we preach God’s Word!

I take this responsibility extremely seriously!

God is not joking when we read: Pr 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

words many transgress

Pr 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

I love the power of words! https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2015/02/05/let-your-spirit-free/

My words, spoken in authority in prayer over your life, mine, and my families, are destroying devilish plots against us, and producing acts of blessing, healing, miracles, revelation, wisdom, joy, peace, provision and prosperity in us, and our families!

word of fire

Though I now serve in full time ministry, and part-time construction, through prayer and the release of my confession of faith each day, My lips, still feed many.

So should yours!

Let’s Pray:
‘Father, set a watch on my lips, and grant me utterance in the Holy Spirit today, as we speak words of faith, power, deliverance, and blessing into the earth, enforcing your love, power, kingdom, truth, will and way in this generation, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen!”

Who Built Your House?

Who built your house?

Chris Karen Walsh's photo.

Matthew 7:24-27, MSG
These Words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational Words, Words to build a life on. If you work these Words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on Solid Rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the Rock. But if you just use My Words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a foolish carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.

Build on the Rock!

The way we do this, is to seek first Jesus, and then DO what He says. He speaks in many ways, but most often, I find myself reading the Scripture, and suddenly I see a passage that I need to apply to my life, something I am not doing. As I do it, and apply the life principal, I grow, and so does the quality of my life around me.

Except Lord
Let’s Pray:

‘Father God, Build my life! I invite Your love, Your Power to come and bring true construction to our lives. Building strong relationships, family, healthy business, investments, churches in every area of our lives. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen’

Proverbs – Whatever date we meet, we will read the chapter of proverbs from that date.

Discussion: Depending on how many people come, we will either simply go around the table and let everyone share, or if many come, we will break into small groups of 5-6 people, so everyone gets a chance to share.

We will begin promptly at 7:30AM and dismiss at 8:30Am.

If people want to stay, they are free to do so, but many of us gotta get to work.

Finances:

Jesus is to be Lord of this meeting, although I will do what I can to lead it. (Kinda like herding cats).

What this means, is simple: If we decide to do a project together, and we take up an offering together for it, I will provide tax receipts for donors, and make myself accountable for the handling of any money raised, and how it is spent. (full disclosure). If we do some kind of mega-project (which I suspect will probably happen, we serve a big God), we will probably register some sort of entity, form a board etc.

However, since Jesus is Lord of this thing, and I am not, I encourage people going on missions trips, or doing neat things for the kingdom of God to make their needs known. It does not hurt my feelings one bit to help a person get where they need to go in God, and count it an honor to serve them as they go. There is no ‘big I’ and little you in the kingdom of God. We are all loved equally by a holy God.  If someone at our table is doing something for the kingdom of God, give money to them, not to me.

Suggestion: We keep a basic slush fund going to buy anyone that might need it coffee that morning, breakfast, or a tank of gas to get to work. It can be a long wait between checks when you are self-employed.
