The Press and the Process

The Press!

Sometimes in life, you just gotta go for it! Been thinking about this particular season of transition in my life, as I have gone from being a moving and shaking businessman as a contractor, to becoming more and more obedient to the heavenly call in full time missions these past years, to now, carefully balancing construction as a part time superintendent, to staying aggressively in the face of God to maintain my place in the office and the call….

‘As the things of earth, grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace’ the song goes..

The years of brutally hard work, and then before that the grueling schedule needed to survive my college degree, while maintaining national level fitness in the sport of triathlon, have come back to remind me, that the disciplines that must be in place, to be a champion.

Knowing my passion and drive, I have learned that I must come under the tight rein of the Holy Spirit, desperate for His presence, His voice, His leading, or the self imposed disciplines I would apply to myself, would bury me.

Yet, when we determine to settle for nothing other than the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, without compromise, and hunger for truth, and power with God, seems about every human relationship feels the test of the call.

In the natural, I have given it all. There is no financial seed left to give…in order to merely live each day, Jesus HAS to provide, there is no plan B.

And day by day, challenge by challenge, He has proved Himself faithful.

Has it been brutal? Yes!

Has it been rewarding?

To see the nations changed in prayer, the multitudes moved through my intercession, the experience the radical intimacy and fulfillment that only He can give, I must say, ‘YES!”.

Though I have nothing financially left, I get alone with Him, having stood upon His promises, and I look at the stars in the heavens…He made them!

He will reward this particular stand of faith, and He will not only restore everything I have given, and given up for Him, but will multiply it, and prosper me with not merely heavenly riches, but I will see wealth, and prosperity again, here, in the earth, in my life, supernaturally, by His hand.

prosperity harvest

To say I have been misunderstood, criticized, etc, would be an understatement, but I am consumed with One who totally satisfies, and I find myself loving people more and more, yes caring less and less whether they love back, or understand…

His voice, His presence, His Word come alive, are more than enough….

Certain things though, are only ‘as He wills..’

His timings, His gifts of the Holy Spirit, His appointments into public ministries, and His financial provisions and breakthroughs, we believe we receive them, and fight for them in faith, daily, yet, if the day ends, and it has not happened yet, then we roll the care of it over upon Him, and deliberately trust that He is faithful, that which He has spoken, that which we have believed we received, will surely come to pass.

In moments of weakness, I have heard Him say, ‘Are you still willing?’, and repeatedly, I have said, ‘Yes, Lord, strengthen, equip me to the responsibility before me, give me grace to survive the brutality of the savage unbelief, and contest of wills around me…;

Some days, I reread, Heb 5:7  Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

The brutality, the attempted tyranny of the ungodly expectations of people, who are not hearing, seeing, experiencing what is screaming inside of you…

I understand the heart of Paul, when he exclaimed…

Ac 26:19  Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

Hab 2:3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

I am not a Calvinist, believing in the great sovereignty of God, like we are some fluff in the wind of the cosmos.

No, I am a son of my heavenly Father, and a man of faith, passion, authority, passionately standing upon His promises, that He must fulfill, for He cannot lie.

What does faith look like though, when each day, as you believe, that which you have prayed for most definitely does not come to pass? When it feels like the heavens are brass, and that our faith confessions seem to hit some kind of metal dome over our heads, unheard by God?

In our anguish of soul, comes the comforter, the great One in the earth, the breath and voice of God, and He brings words of encouragement, that nothing on this earth can compare to…

Simple words, like ‘Child, I love you, and I hear your heart, your quietest whispers in the night, and I am with you, and am bringing to pass that which you have believed, for did I not promise and commission these things to you?’

Simple comforts like: ‘You have done my perfect will today!”

courage Jesus

These keep me going, like Joseph:

Ps 105:19  Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.

There is a timing of a thing, and until that appointed time, I am aggressively reading, praying in tongues, after doing my faith confessions for the day, for I must keep my faith fed, strong, and I must fill my soul with good teaching, to grow, to press, to feed the raging hungers inside my heart!

Ps 17:3  Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

I fight to keep my words right, for this is the way of perfection, holiness, and as I allow the Word to grow and work deeper and deeper in my heart, this becomes easier and easier, for as my deepest desires are changed, as He takes His knife to my fears, my filth, my stinking thinking, a practical purity emerges. I don’t have to rigidly watch my confessions as much, for out of my transformed heart, my mouth speaks, and good things come out…

Ps 18:30  As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

I trust in Him. He has spoken. I am sorely tried, but after it is all done, I shall be that vessal of honor described in the Word, purged, and fully fit for the Masters use…

Passionate love is worth the pursuit….

God is love….

Let’s pray:

‘Father, I know You, and I hear Your voice. May I not shrink back, or give up, but bring you great glory, in believing. Strengthen me to fully obey, without compromise or reservation, exactly what You have shown me. Comfort me daily, and equip me, for the responsibility of the call, in Your name I pray Lord Jesus.Amen’

Jesus Came to Reveal Our Heavenly Father…

Jesus Came to Reveal Our Heavenly Father...

Jesus came to reveal our heavenly Father…

All of us, have been fatherless to some degree. No matter how good or bad your earthly father is or was, God your heavenly father is perfect!

We are looking tonight at the Father Heart of God, God as our nurturer.

The way I was brought up, I saw Jesus as our tender Shepherd, the one to whom we could run. The one who sits at the right hand of God, ever praying and interceding for us. Yet, God, I was told, is holy, and sits as judge of the entire universe. God is the Father of all Creation, but the picture I was painted of Him was of a harsh judge, sitting upon His throne, ready to hurl lightening bolts from heaven upon any who would dare to cross Him. Like this huge austere man sitting upon His throne with a giant fly-swatter ready to punish us when we blew it.

Yet, the view I held of God, was not according to knowledge. Religion and tradition had blinded me from the truth of Daddy God. Again and again, He has come to me and ruined my tough-guy image with waves of Holy Ghost hugs and tender compassion. I couldn’t understand how the loving God I was experiencing could actually be the Father I had learned about in Sunday school. So I was afraid, never fully trusting His loving care for me.

Why? I figured that I was like some play-toy to Him. He didn’t need me; he loved me when it was convenient for Him, but I’d better watch out, because He might squash me like a bug.

Well, many of you are in the same place. You’ve seen men act like I’ve described, perhaps your earthly father acted this way, and perhaps the way you see God is tainted by the media and religion. Well, God is not that way. He is holy, and He cannot lie. The way He describes Himself is the way He really is. We must see Him as the Word describes Him, not the way the world would seek to portray Him.

Let’s look at these verses.

(Isa 66:11 NIV) For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance.”

(Isa 66:12 NIV) For this is what the LORD says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.

(Isa 66:13 NIV) As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”

Is this the picture of a God that throws lightening bolts at His children when they disobey? No! These verses describe an intimacy with God similar to the degree of intimacy a nursing infant experiences at the breast of its mother.

One of the covenant name of God is El Shaddai, the God who is more than enough. When we look up the definition of this Hebrew word, we discover it to literally mean, “the multi-breasted one”. The sense being of God desiring a level of intimacy with every human being similar to that of a new-born babe suckling at its mothers breast.

Look at verse 12 with me, we see God desiring to literally carry us as a mother carries her infant babe, he wants to play with us like a parent bounces a child upon their knee.

Let’s look at a few other verses of Scripture that document this wonderful side of our loving heavenly Father.

(Hosea 11:1 NIV) “When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.

(Hosea 11:2 NIV) But the more I called Israel, the further they went from me. They sacrificed to the Baals and they burned incense to images.

(Hosea 11:3 NIV) It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms; but they did not realize it was I who healed them.

See this beautiful word picture. The picture of a parent teaching a child to walk, holding them by the arms, and leading them in the way they should go. How many times have you gone through a hard time, or entered into a new situation, and it seemed that the comfort of the Holy Spirit was so tangible you could literal touch Him. The clarity of the direction you received from God so concise you could not fail to make it through.

See it in this verse? A child, being held by the arms, doesn’t really care where they are going, only that Daddy is holding their arms. When He’s there everything is sure to turn out right.

Having difficulty receiving your healing? Get intimate with Pappa God, and let him take you by the arms and lead you, and teach you to walk by faith. The fellowship with Him will become so rich, the journey so wonderful, that it will only be in hindsight you recognize that as He walked with you, you were healed.

Some would argue, well that’s nice pastor Chris, but both of your illustrations are old covenant examples; show me this in the New Testament. Rather than argue the truth of

(1 Cor 10:6 NIV) Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.

Let’s look at

(Rom 8:15 NIV) For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

We know God’s perfect love destroys our deepest fears. We are His children by adoption, sealed by the earnest of the Holy Spirit.

The Hebrew word “Abba” is a term of intimate fellowship, our English word “Daddy”.

He is a God to call Daddy. Pappa God, our loving heavenly Father.

This truth came alive to me as a minister friend of mine was relating his experiences on his trip to Israel. As we know, we have been adopted into the covenants of God made originally to the Jewish people. When you accept Jesus, you will find yourself loving the Jews, because He does, hey Jesus is Jewish!

Well, anyway, this pastor was arriving in Tel Aviv I believe, and was waiting for his luggage at the luggage claim area. While he waited, he noticed a three-year old boy with his mother, eagerly awaiting the return of hi father. He was stretching and straining through the crowd, trying to spot his Dad. When his dad appeared, this child broke free of his mother’s grasp, and ran, arms outstretched towards his dad, crying in Hebrew, “Abba, Abba.”.

That’s the way God wants us to come to Him. Arms upraised, heart open, in childlike trust crying “Daddy, daddy!”. He will never turn us away, He loves us.

(2 Cor 6:18 NIV) “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

To finish this segment, let me tell you a story.

During an extremely difficult time in my life, I rented a basement apartment in a Christian home, as I took night courses in a bible school, and drove a school bus to support myself. Many wonderful things happened during this seven-year period of my life, but one particular encounter comes to mind.

I was taking a discipleship training course at church, and we were doing a section on pride and humility. We read “Improving your serve” by Chuck Swindoll, and “Humility” by Andrew Murray. During this season in my life, my pastor asked me to do something around the church, and I said, in belligerence, “Why should I?”. This tender man of God in great gentleness said to me, knowing I had sat under the teachings on pride and humility, “Chris, could it be that you are struggling with pride?”. It cut me like a knife, and I was so ticked off, I left the church, and went home in a rage. Now, I know none of you have ever been there, but I was ticked off.

(Prov 19:3 NIV) A man’s own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.

So here was I. I’d made a bad choice, and then was so proud and self-deceived that I was mad at God over it.

So, in my basement room, I blurted out at God. “Yea, God, I’ve got an attitude, but what do you expect. This pastor of yours tells me that you will protect us, that you love us. Yea, right. If you are so loving and so kind, why did you allow the garbage that happened to me as a little child occur? What kind of God are you anyway? Letting little children get raped. You know how it is on the street, you let down your guard for a second, and you get your teeth taken out.”

Suddenly, I was not alone. My little bedroom filled up with the glory of God. I thought “Great, I told God off, and now He’s going to kill me.”

Then He spoke to me.

“Child, you don’t understand everything right now. I take full responsibility for what happened to you as a child, can you forgive me?”

Something snapped deep inside of me. My reality was shattered by His love. What? “Me forgive you? You’re God. You can’t do anything wrong. I’m not going to get a lightening bolt? I don’t understand.”

Then, I saw it. A simple understanding came to me that still speaks to me today.

God is humble. As Creator of all things, He could sit upon His throne and dictate to Creation how it is going to be. He’s Almighty, who could stop Him? Yet, He’s not that way.

Jesus washed His disciple’s feet. The character of the Master must be the character of the disciple. Jesus said, “If you’ve seen me, you have seen the Father.” See it? Father God is humble.

As time went on, I learned of Satan and his activity in the earth. He does wicked things to us, and then accuses God for it. Poisoning our minds against the One who loves us more than we love ourselves.

God is never your problem; He’s always your answer.

Why do bad things happen to “good” people? Simple. Faith moves the hand of God. The word of God is the will of God. Where people are ignorant of God’s word, Satan is free to do what he always does: kill, steal, and destroy.

My parents knew about God, but didn’t know God. They didn’t know how to apply the Word of God to their day to day affairs to see Jesus victory manifest in our life.

Probably, your parents didn’t know either. As you study and apply what you know, you are being changed. As you change, you affect those around you, like the ripples that go out from a pebble thrown in a still pond. Your children will have a better life than you did, because of your knowledge of spiritual things.

Here’s your homework. Get alone with God. Open your arms to Him and ask Him to show you His love for you. When He shows up, ask Him for courage to not run away, and let the tears all of us need to shed be cried on His shoulder. We all have secret pains in our soul, so deep, only God knows. He knows, He cares, and He will heal you if you let Him.

Let’s Pray:

‘Lord Jesus, please reveal to me, my heavenly Father. Father, you know, you understand me, and I believe You love me. Please grant me a savage breakthrough of your love, Your DNA (Demonstrated Natural Affection) instilled into my very spirit. Restore to me the years of love I did not receive, and do a miracle in my soul. All the words of affirmation, acceptance, and approval that I should have received growing up, that would make me the person of boldness and confidence that this generation needs, please pour into my soul. Recreate, in the depths of my being, all that has been damaged by the trauma, abuse, neglect, and atrocities I have seen. Your perfect love, destroys our deepest fears, so I am asking for the depth of Your love revealed to the deepest part of me. I need you Daddy God, Pappa, I hurt. Please do for me, what only You can do, restore trust, peace, confidence…I choose to receive this now, for I ask in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!”

National Repentance

National Repentance for the United States

2 Chron 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15  Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

A great man of God, died Feb 9th, 2013, named Richard Twiss.

Richard Twiss (b. June 1954 – d. February 9 2013 Rosebud Lakota/Sioux Reservation in South Dakota[1]) was a Native American educator and author. He was a member of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate from the Rosebud Lakota Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. He was the Co-Founder and President of Wiconi International (Wee-choe’-nee is Lakota for “life”) .

In 1972, Twiss was a participant in the forced occupation of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Building in Washington, D.C., with the radical political group, the American Indian Movement or “AIM.” Twiss later became a Christian minister, author, and public speaker.

His vision was, “Serve as a bridge builder and consultant, nationally and internationally, to develop understanding, respect and mutual appreciation for one another, especially among Native American/First Nations people.”

I quote from his book:

David Tavernier, an intercessor, had a profound experience with Jesus in October 1993. During of time of deep prayer for the United States, he asked ‘Holy Spirit, what is the root sin, in the heart of America?’ Immediately, God spoke to him and said: “Native American Indians”.

He goes on to say how Holy Spirit then led him deeply into a time of great mourning and grieving in prayer….p50,51

In 1963, the late John F. Kennedy said: ‘Before we can set out on the road to success, we have to know where we are going, and before we can know that, we must determine where we have been in the past.

It seems a basic requirement to study the history of our Indian people. America has much to learn about the heritage of our American Indians. Only through this study can we as a nation do what must be done is our treatment of the American Indian is not to be marked down for all time as a national disgrace.

One Church, Many Tribes, Richard Twiss

Since 1995, at Sacred Assembly in Hull, QC, I have endeavored to learn the heart of God for First Nations peoples.

Ps 92:6  A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

I grew up in a military home, and am the product of 15 schools in my life, now, three major Bible schools on top of that. Since I had my radical ‘open heaven’ experience with Jesus in 1989, I have walked with Jesus, determined to have truth at any cost (and the cost has been high), to hear and obey His voice and His Word….

Last year, I fasted and prayed for 8 weeks from October-early December 2012, during the second term election of President Barack Obama. During that time, I asked the Lord what the keys of truth are, to unlock this land we call the United States, to the move of the Holy Spirit, we all seek.

He showed me many things that I will not share here but in order of priority, the three spiritual strongholds that we must topple in prayer are:

  1. 1.      First Nations
  2. 2.      Racism
  3. 3.      Abortion.

This summer, I spent many weeks, weeping over a list of the 39 Indian tribes of Oklahoma, and the 500 tribes of North America.

During the dedication of the Cherokee house of prayer, in Talequah, a Messianic rabbi brought forward the following word:

“Even as Yeshua took 39 stripes in His Body, for the healing of your physical body, so these 39 tribes have taken stripes in their body, having suffered horribly for many generations. Even so, I will visit them with deep, deep healing, and as I do, I will raise them up as instruments of healing, not only to the other tribes, but also to this land, you call the United States of America.

This is one of the keys you have sought, that will unlock the move of my Spirit across this nation, so I have spoken it, so it shall be: Red Man Rising!”

I understand prophecy, faith, authority, and spiritual responsibility before God. That prophecy must be governed and judged by the Scripture. I am convinced that this is a word from the Lord.

1Ti 1:18  This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

I have included this word on my daily prayer list, and am believing for this to come to pass…along with a move of the Holy Spirit among the other 500 tribes of North America.

I also believe that though the whole Zimmerman trial appeared to be a political move, to cover up the treacherous actions that occurred at Benghazi, yet the Lord has used it, to uncover His second priority item of prayer for this nation, the dismantling of institutionalized racism in the United States. Though I did not enter into deep intercession and fasting over this trial, it is my hope and prayer, that many others did, and that repentance, forgiveness,  reconciliation, healing, and peace would come from it. That now, the spiritual groundwork is being done, to destroy this demonic blood sacrifice in the land, we call abortion.

In Daniel chapter 9, we read: . 19  O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

20 ¶  And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;

Daniel, humbled himself before God in prayer, and confessed the sin of the nation, and God literally moved in the heavenlies, and sent angels to change the government. This needs to happen again, and happen now, in America…..

Whether President Obama repents of his position legalizing abortion and same sex marriage (my prayer for him, for I honestly love the man, though I hate some of what he does), or He removes this current President, and installs one who will institutionalize righteousness, I care little, only that righteousness would again prevail, that the nation be exalted….

Let’s pray:

‘Father, open our eyes spiritually, and help us to break before you in vicarious intercession for the United States, and the rest of the nations of the earth. We ask you to forgive us for our blindness , pride, complacency, and hardness of heart, for our disobedience against You, and Your Word. Show us Lord, where we, by our silence or culture, contribute in any way to: injustice against the First Nations peoples, Bitterness, Racism, or abortion. Forgive us Father, and forgive this nation we call the United States of America. Father, restore to us, true righteousness, and give us wisdom and understanding, to know how to rebuild this nation, strong in You, and the power of Your might and holiness, with freedom, liberty, and justice for all! In Your name we pray Lord Jesus, Amen.”

1Sa 16:7  But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Tripped by the lip, Hung by thier Tongue!

Tripped by the lip, Hung by thier Tongue!

Tripped by the Lip, and hung by the tongue!

Read this verse, and it made me think:
Hosea 7:16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
Old Testament, is the New Testament concealed, the New, the Old Testament revealed.
In Hosea, we see the judgment of God, falling on a people of wicked intent, revealed by ‘the rage of their tongue’
Jesus said it this way:
Matt 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

These people were literally judged by God, by the Words they spoke.
In this case, it cost them their lives.
Hosea 6: 5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
In this day, the last of all days, the ministry of the prophet is still in the earth. Great hearted, pure, weeping, merciful saints of God, full of love, compassion, wisdom, humility, brokenness, and deep, deep relationship with our Father.
Yet, do not mistake mercy, love and compassion for weakness.

They still speak the literal word of God into the earth, and God backs up that word, with power.

death and life
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and God will still ‘hew with His prophets’, wicked people…

I know, you are thinking: Chris, you are a faith preacher, why not talk about building our lives upon the word of God, and calling those things that be not as though they were….These are truths also, and good news for those of us walking with Jesus in faith, exercising His authority.

Yet, for those people, nations, and governments who refuse Jesus, His covenant, and the Word of God:

With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Let’s pray:
“Father, I pray for mercy and Your love revealed in the earth today. That You would reveal the love, and forgiveness of Jesus, to wicked people, bent on doing evil. That You stop them, whatever it takes, in the name and authority of Jesus I pray, Amen’

He Only Healed One…

He Only Healed One...

He only healed one…
John 5:1 ¶ After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Joh 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
So we read the familiar account of the man crippled, awaiting healing, at the pool of Bethesda, who had been crippled for 38 years, reportedly unable to enter the water when the healing angel troubled, for tradition said, that only the first one into the water after the angel came, would be healed.
In the faith camp, I have heard this story preached many ways with wonderful insights:
1. Who said, only the first person into the pool when the angel troubled the waters would be healed? Since the kingdom of God operates according to faith, could not others have been healed upon entering the water, had they exercised faith in God.
2. Do you want to be healed? Jesus question to the man is eternal, for in the ministry of divine healing, we discover that many people say they want to be healed, but when questioned a little closer, they are not willing to let go of their ‘disability’ checks or pensions, should healing occur. They are sick and suffering, but not yet sick and tired of being sick and tired. Until they honestly want to be healed, and let go of their excuses, God will not violate their free will, and heal them.
3. This is a perfect illustration to teach on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, that only operate ‘as he wills’. We are to desire them, but we cannot manufacture them. God loves and deals with each and every person uniquely and separately, and as ministers, we can operate in the wonderful gifts of the Holy Spirit, but we all know the ‘they are HIS gifts’. He is God, we are His servents, and apart from Him, we can do nothing.1 Cor 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. However, as we learn to move in the power of the Holy Spirit, we discover that He is a lot more willing to demonstrate His power, and distribute His gifts, than many give Him credit for.
4. Jesus only did the will of the Father.
John 5: 19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
This is where I want to park today, for there is great victory and freedom in it.
Every day, when I owned my company, I was bombarded by sales people trying to sell me the latest and greatest, missionaries and charitable causes looking for a donation, employees wanting a raise or a bonus, clients wanting a discount, suppliers selling materials, or requesting payment, and then the myriad needs of suffering humanity that seem to be ever before us as leaders.
Where do I spend my time and money ? This is the eternal question.
Well as one seasoned minister said, almost comically: ‘The answer to this, and countless other questions in life is simply: Be led’
Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Mt 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
There is great freedom in a daily journey with Jesus. We are only responsible to do, what He asks, that day, and His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.
‘But last year you supported us!” or ‘You used our company last time!” or ‘I deserve this raise, or I am going to quit!” are simply pleas of people to be brought before God.
Isa 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
If we are walking with God, we are only responsible to do what we believe He is asking us to do. Generally (but not always), when someone demands I make a decision right away, my answer is always, NO!
I will not be intimidated, manipulated, pushed, or coerced into making any decision, outside the will of God for my life.
If someone must have an answer today, the only answer I am willing to give is: “I will pray about it”
I am honest, and pray I do. God speaks, and I listen.
Joh 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
Heb 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Heb 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Joh 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
There would be much tragedy avoided, if all of us, did this one simple thing. Pray, then listen, and do what He says.
Let’s Pray:
‘Father, all Your paths are peace, as we love You. Cause us to hear Your voice, and give us grace and strength to say NO! To every other competing voice. Jesus, I believe you are my Shepherd, my Lord, my personal pastor, that no matter how great You make me, I am your child, and You are my Lord. Speak to me today, strengthen me to not be moved by circumstances, but only by Your Spirit, in Jesus name. Amen!

Heal Our Land!

Heal Our Land!

Heal our land!
Isa 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed
In today’s reading, we read:
Hosea 4:1 ¶ Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land., 2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
We see in these verses, the controvesy, God, our Creator, the Great One, has with the land.
These verses clearly show, that when people of a region or nation sin, that the land itself is defiled, that the earth, the creation, feels the weight of this sin, and that wildlife dies.
As I have walked with First Nations leaders over the past several decades, I have discovered a thing that until recently, I never heard put into words. I have been graciously invited, by Dr. Negiel Bigpond to participate in the monthly conference calls with the Native American Circle of Prayer. Each month, Dr. Negiel has a chief or spiritual leader share their hearts, on what God is showing them.
One month, we had the privilege of hearing chief G. Anne Richardson the Chief of the Rappahannock Tribe. She made a statement, that I hope I can correctly encapsulate here:
‘Our people have always been close to the land. It seems that we have and innate ability to see, to feel, to sense spiritually what is going on in the earth, and we often see, sense, and intuitive know things by the Holy Spirit, that are not readily apparent to peoples of other cultures.’
Her words are born out in Scripture:
Ro 8: 19 (AMP)For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].
20 For the creation (nature) was subjected to [i]frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it—[yet] with the hope
21 That nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God’s children.
22 We know that the whole creation [of irrational creatures] has been moaning together in the pains of labor until now.
There is a groaning in the earth from the weight of sin, and we the church, from every tongue, tribe and nation, are what the earth is longing for, to heal it.
In First Nations tradition, there is a very famous prophecy, known as the Seven Generation prophecy, or the chief Crazy Horse prophecy. (
Crazy Horse had a vision he shared with sitting bull during a pipe ceremony just days before he was murdered. He said, “Upon suffering beyond suffering, the red nation shall rise again and it shall be a blessing for the sick world. A world filed with broken promises, selfishness and separations. A world longing for light again. I see a time of seven generations, when all the colors of mankind will gather under the sacred tree of life and the whole earth will become one circle again. In that day, those among the Lakota who will carry knowledge and understanding of unity among all living things, and the young white ones will come, to those of my people to ask for wisdom. I salute the light within their eyes where the whole universe dwells, for when you are at the center within you and I am at the at place within me, we are as one.” – Crazy Horse from James Medicine Tree
I believe he accurately heard God, that the tree of life, is the cross of Jesus Christ. For a full teaching on this, read Rick Joyner (
There is another prophecy, passed down through the generations, by the Cree people.
“When all the trees have been cut down,
when all the animals have been hunted,
when all the waters are polluted,
when all the air is unsafe to breathe,
only then will you discover you cannot eat money.”
― Cree Prophecy
In 1968, in Oklahoma City, I have been told that Billy Graham, spoke the following words:
‘The great move of the Holy Spirit that we all seek in the United States, will not come until First Nations leaders are correctly respected, honored, and embraced into the kingdom of God, in their particular places.’
This is in keeping with the very famous verse we all preach as we seek revival:
2 Chronicals 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears atten unto the prayer that is made in this place.
Seems that because of sin, the land itself needs to be healed.
I am also finding, that what we don’t know, we don’t know.
We know to ask God’s forgiveness for sin, that the cross is the only solution for evil, and that the gospel is the power of God, unto salvation.
What we don’t know, is that when we alienate, one part of the Body of Christ, we all hurt.
1Co 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1Co 12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
Read 1 Cor 12, we all need each other, and we all need to be in our place.
Re 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Indian tribes must come to the throne of God, in their tongue, from their tribe, from their nation, in order for this verse to be fulfilled, and it will.
I believe that as they come, they will bring their gifts with them, and both the white man and Indian prophecies will be fulfilled.
Lu 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
Re 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
There are ‘spiritual keys’ of knowledge, that will unlock blessings from heaven, and I believe we need what First Nations peoples bring to the table. They have a Holy Spirit inspired voice, that will come from the wind, the sky, the flight of the eagle in the air, and IT WILL LINE UP WITH THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD!
It will be outside of our traditions, our cultural interpretations of the Scripture, but it will be a spirit of truth, and it will be borne out in the written Word of God.
Here are some more verses on the need for the land to be healed:
Ps 106:38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
Joe 3:19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
Is 24: 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
Sounds like abortion, genocide, and atrocities, and sin, literally defile the land.
Yet, we are the sons and daughters of God for which all creation awaits!
Walking in faith, authority, anointing, humility, wisdom, and filled with the Holy Spirit now, we exercise redemptive rights, and release authority, through repentance and forgiveness
Jesus gives an interesting commission here to disciples:
John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

My friend, mentor and adopted dad, Hank Hallas has a wonderful revelation of who we are in Christ, and as he goes to India, conducts a ceremony on lands owned by churches or church members. It goes like this:

He walks to each corner of the land, and prays: ‘Father, I ask that you would forgive every sin ever committed upon this land, all the way back to the time of Adam, and I declare they are forgiven, in Jesus name! I plead and apply the blood of Jesus here, and call this land into the kingdom of God, redeemed. I pronounce the blessing of Almighty God upon this land and owners home, and break any demonic activity present here, enforcing your kingdom Father, in righteousness (love), peace and joy, in you, mighty Holy Spirit.’
At each corner of the land he takes bread, juice (communion elements), and oil (symbolic of the Holy Spirit), and buries them at each corner, as a prophetic act that this property is blessed.

Remarkable testimonies have occurred. Households healed. Diseases stopped. Allergies end. Crops and animals supernaturally produce abundant harvests. Financial prosperity released. Nightmares stop, and people receiving restful sleep, peaceful dreams, and visions of Jesus and His kingdom. Areas where Hindus and Muslims been burning churches, buildings and properties supernaturally protected in the midst of violence and mayhem, supernaturally, by the power of God!

Bill Winston ministered here at Victory on something similar. Reportedly, a senior in his congregation was troubled by a group of drug dealers and gangsters that sold drugs on the sidewalk in front of her house. She sought the Lord, and her pastor (Bill), for what to do. By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, he felt impressed to tell her, to get a bottle of oil, and pour it out, a line down the middle of her street. She did, and pled the blood of Jesus over her property and street. Next morning, as usual, the gangsters and drug dealers showed up again, and immediately entered into a heated argument. They dispersed, and have never again returned to this woman’s house!
I have done this on my property, and we have never had a break in, nor has there ever been violence or a problem at my home, though we live in what is considered to be a rough neighborhood. You can have peace in your home, too!
Let’s Pray:
‘Father, I ask that you would forgive every sin that has ever been committed on my property, all that way back to the time of Adam. I plead and apply the blood of Jesus here, and I bless this property, and call it redeemed back into the kingdom of God, now, in the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. I declare the kingdom of God in force and in place here, in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name! Father, open my eyes to see other people in your kingdom that may not walk with You exactly the same as I do. May I hear Your voice in them, and receive them in their culture, language, and worship, seeking Your always for truth, at all costs. Please Father, open my heart to receive keys of knowledge from You, and them, that together, we might heal our lands. Amen’
