Africa Community Development projects – God@Work

As most of you know, my passion is to create programs to support ministries and feed orphans. Obviously, the preference I have is to find people who first host a Bible school, because

Galatians 6:10

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith

I am not merely a community development organization, but actively seek to expand and support the Christian cause and to expand the kingdom of God wherever I can. I cannot be moved solely by human need, but work with Christian organizations that believe the Bible is the Word of God.

I am convinced that Bible schools are the most important need in every community, because the Word of God is absolute truth, with the ability to transform lives, and show people how to live. Unless people learn right from wrong behavior, simply feeding or clothing them become enablement, instead of empowerment, and they never learn of Gods design to provide for them, through meaningful work and careful stewardship of our God given gifts and resources.

We teach them how to fish.

Having made this premise known. Here are the two projects we are currently working on in the nation of Kenya.

https://www.chrisaomministries.com/2019/06/i-thirst

clean water for 13 villages!

https://www.chrisaomministries.com/2019/07/gardens-of-grace

Here is how and why I became involved.

Pastore Evans Mukwa asked me to send him information in 2012 on how to start a Bible school to educate and disciple his leaders in his church, and since then has graduated around 30 students through the IVBI curriculum.

Then, he awoke one morning to discover military at his door with several orphan children they had found in the villages, and asked him if he could take them in. He quickly fed them breakfast, and at church that night announced his new orphan program. He would serve community breakfast at the church, and then asked families to take these children home to sleep at night for the security of the children.

And so it has begun, with 13 children in the communities care initially. We set up an account on Western Union and began to send small amounts of money to help with school fees and the childrens immediate needs. Over time, we we introduced to pastor Victor Otieno Gumba from Nyatike in Migori province, who was also helping widows and orphans.

Pastor Victor ended up with 58 children, and presently helps 98 through his program. I am not sure of his Bible school development, but he has been appoved by Victory to start a school, and curriculum has been sent to him.

So many forget that after we receive Jesus, we are left here on earth with a job to do, its called the great commission: https://www.chrisaomministries.com/2016/03/our-mission-the-great-commission

The ‘make disciples of all nations’ part is quite the commission!

So, I find myself working to do something of eternal value with my life, and in this case, in the nation of Kenya.

Update: The well got drilled and we raised funds to purchase a solar powered pumping station. Now we need to construct a wash house, so that people coming from surrounding villages can use the bathroom in a sanitary manner and not pollute the well. Also, since the system is solar powered, it only runs during the day. We need a reservoir that can be filled in daylight hours to provide water after dark. To make a long story short, pastor Victor had a the teens there make mud bricks and get ready to build walls. Yet the cost of the metal roof, reservoir and fixtures is 2300USD. As I discussed this with one of the donors, he agreed to do a matching fund of $1000, so when people donate$1000, we will actually have $2000 towards this project.

Making mud bricks

In Eldoret, we are working on the Gardens of Grace greenhouse project. We paid to have the soil samples done, then sent money donated to pay for soil preparation, site prep and fencing to keep stray livestock  out of the site.

The uncleared land

Clearing the land

New fencing

We still need $4200USD, to construct a small caretakers cottage on site, and purchase the first greenhouse. By faith, God has provided this need, as this project will provide for orphans for life as we manage it well.

Of course, please pray for the financial needs of our family. Just working and paying bills has been a grind, and somehow we fell behind on weekly bills, yet our eyes are on Jesus to catch us up. WE have an invitation to fly to Belize to help pioneer another two BIble schools, and of course to preach the gospel and demonstrate Gods power. This requires prayer, faith, time off work here, and around $3000.00. Gods will, Gods bill. https://www.chrisaomministries.com/2019/11/mission-belize

With overseas projects, 100% of all donations go to the project minus any international transfer fees. (On smaller amounts Western Union and taxes cost around $20), for amounts over $1000.00, our bank charges $68 for a bank to bank international transfer.)

This year Jerusalem!

Hi WordPress world, long time no post. Why? It has been a season of very, very busy work and school, and I opted for sleep instead of blogging.

This year Jerusalem

Yet, if you know me and my family, we are missionaries, and people of faith.

This Tuesday, we fly from Tulsa, OK, to Tel Aviv, Israel, for the first time.

For over 20 years, we have prayed for Israel, and loved the nation, for it is the birthplace of the Word of God, Jesus, and God’s country, truly the Holy land.

This year, God has made a way for us to actually set foot in the land, fulfilling a life long dream for our family.

We do have our passports and airfare fully paid, but not nearly enough to pay for accommodations and food for the five weeks we are there.

Therein is faith, radically trusting God to provide for our family as we go..

IMG_4474.JPG

I guess if we claim to trust fully in God, and our hearts scream: “Go to Israel’ we are going…

IMG_4572.JPG

Please pray for us, and if you are able to help us financially with this trip, the need is urgent, for I will be travelling with my two children.

Here is one of His teachings:
God Perceives the Inner Change That Only His Word Can Bring (Luke 15:1 NKJV) Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. Like the returning prodigal, the “publicans and sinners” may have still looked outwardly like sinners, but inside a change had already taken place. This is what God the Father and Jesus were celebrating. They know that permanent outward change begins with a change of heart—that is, a heart open to hear Jesus’s words, believe them, and digest them. Jesus’s words are powerful, creative, and gracious; once they have taken root, they will soon result in a major change of confession leading to a change of actions and lifestyle. Father and Jesus celebrate the most important part—the change of thinking that opens a heart to hear, to process, and potentially to reproduce Jesus’s words. (Luke 8:15 NKJV) “But the ones (word-seeds) that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. This is repentance. This is the Father’s dream for true sons coming to pass. It is also the answer to Jesus’s prayer for God’s kingdom to come. When open, humble hearts receive and value God’s word, they sow it in their heart-soil like seeds. These seeds can then sprout, grow and produce a harvest. This harvest represents God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven. We note here that pseudo repentance, which involves the employment of human willpower to change a life, does not produce holy fruit. (Romans 7:15 NKJV) For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. The apostle Paul himself couldn’t make himself holy by merely agreeing that the law was right and exercising his will to keep it. On the other hand, Jesus—the living Word of God—said he would fulfill the law himself (Matthew 5:17). That is to say that only the infinite holy power of the Holy Spirit—acting to fulfill Jesus’s words in us when we receive and believe them—has the ability to produce holy living in and through us. (Romans 8:13-14 NKJV) For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Are you seeking the inner change that only God’s word can produce? First, you need to sit at his feet, listen to his words, and receive them in a “noble and good heart”. Then love, nurture and protect them until it comes to harvest. When it does, it will overflow through your mouth in living power, releasing the infinite power of holiness resident in God’s Spirit of Holiness. As a result, “you will put to death the deeds of the body”, and you will “live” as a true son of God.

Here is another:
WHAT ABOUT THE OLDER BROTHER? “Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound’.” (Luke 15:25-27 ESV) This passage reveals the heart of the older son. Despite not wasting his inheritance in the “University of Hard Knocks” like his younger brother, he obviously wasn’t his father’s true son at this point either. His values weren’t his father’s values: he clearly didn’t agree with his father’s risky investment into the mere possibility of his younger sibling’s repentance. This was reflected in his attitude, actions, and words: (Luke 15:28-32 ESV) “But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, (29) but he answered his father, ‘Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. (30) But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!’ (31) And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. (32) It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’” The father clearly explained his heart and his actions. But Jesus’s parable ends here without saying if this was enough. Did the older brother then “get it” at that point, and come in immediately to the celebration? If so, he would have been becoming more like his father—one of the “righteous” “who need no repentance”; he just needed some more teaching. Jesus said earlier that God rejoices more over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance (Luke 15:7). This would explain why the father had never given the older brother a goat that he might “celebrate” with his friends. Also the father, representing God the Father, knew that if the older brother was truly a son, celebrating with a goat would be insignificant compared to what he was receiving every day. An openhearted son, sitting around father’s table, yoked with him in the family business, was gaining far more of eternal significance than 100 parties could provide. He wouldn’t have been looking for a celebration, but for more information, insight, wisdom and impartation. He would not have been focused on spending what his father had earned, but on gaining what his father had learned. On the other hand, if the older brother did not listen to his father’s explanation, and if he had not gone into the celebration, then he was no more like his father than his younger brother had been. If this were the case, he may have only stayed at home to keep his inheritance intact. He wouldn’t have loved what his father loved, valued what his father valued, or truly wanted what his father wanted. Ultimately, this would have meant that he had the same heart as his younger brother originally had, but that he had a different strategy for how to express it. He may have been merely waiting until his father died before “doing his own thing”. if this was the case, he too was in need of repentance. Can I encourage you to value the opportunity you have “in Christ” at God’s right hand—learning, listening, absorbing and enjoying. He is imparting his values, love, knowledge and wisdom to you so that you are “conformed to his image”. This is of infinitely more value and significance than all the parties, notoriety, and spending that seems to go on the newly repentant. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and no storm of comparison can sink you. God bless you today.Jan8

When my friend, Robert Shaeffer asked me to join a Facebook group for the cast of the church play, I asked: ‘What is Facebook?’

I had no idea of the power of Social Media, to stay connected with friends, family, and ministers around the world. Over the years, what began as a fun hobby, has developed into an international ministry, that is growing daily, as I bathe it in prayer, and stay faithful to what God has called me to do. This is the direction I believe I am to follow on this page.

4. To facilitate, wherever possible the pioneering of Bible Schools, to raise up train and equip leaders in their country in the Word of God. I do this by simply referring people to Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, OK. Presently, Victory has established over 1800 International Bible schools in 100 countries, that graduate 27,000 students each year. This number is growing monthly, with a vision to host 10,000 schools! The curriculum has been filmed and is available in video format in many languages, and translators are currently working on getting it translated into many more. The IVBI program is an incredible force for Jesus in the earth!

5. To field prayer requests. God is a good God, and satan is a bad devil. Hard things sometimes happen to good people. Jesus is the answer, never the problem. Daily, people inbox me prayer requests, and I spend the first several hours of my day, seeking first the kingdom of God, and believing for God’s best, each day for all of my friends on Social Media.

Prayer Requests: If you or your family need specific prayer for anything, please send us a prayer request. We as a family will pray for you today, and if you would, please let us know the wonderful ways God answers. This is a great encouragement to us.

6. To raise awareness and support for charitable purposes. We take many missions trips as a family, and these cost money. We also support an orphanage in Karimnager, India that urgently needs everything. $50 there goes a long way to simply feeding and clothing the 10 children currently living in a tin shed, and I cannot claim to love Jesus, and do nothing for orphans and the suffering in our midst.

I am a missionary, called to take the good news of Jesus to the nations of the world. Presently, I study in seminary at Oral Roberts University.

As I have thought about the ministries above:

If you need a great home church please consider Rhema, Victory, or IHOP, or if you like a tiny church, come to the one I attend: Harvest Family Church (AG)

If you are called to ministry please consider attending Bible college at: Victory Bible College, or Rhema (where I and my wife graduated!)

If you are considering a university, please contact Oral Roberts University, or Regent, places that include Jesus in all their studies.

Keep Smiling!

We have two trips this summer planned at present:

  1. A Trip to Wiconi Family Camp in Oregon to meet with elders and get to know each other. http://www.wiconi.com/index470e.html
  2. A trip to Arizona to attend Healing of the Nations Motorcycle ralley, with the intent of continuing our relationship with many friends, and planning a potential construction project. https://www.facebook.com/cofhon/?fref=ts

We Need:

  1. Prayer – Without Holy Spirit, we are nothing and can do nothing. We need supplies of the Spirit to do what we need to do. https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2015/06/30/the-supply-of-the-holy-spirit/
  2. Favor and Divine appointments – Many are aware of what we wish to do. It will take favor from God to accomplish these.  https://chrisaomministries.com/2014/01/18/you-have-friends-in-high-places/
  3. Money – Our bills must be paid here, before we go anywhere. https://chrisaomministries.wordpress.com/2016/01/02/good-gold-money-with-a-mission/
  4. Resources: a.We immediately need a large flatbed trailer to haul supplies to various reservations. b.Vehicles – we need a more reliable family vehicle – with almost 300K on our Jeep, it’s time. Would sure love another Tundra work truck for all that I do.c.Construction supplies. d.Volunteers – We plan on pre-fabbing much of what we will install there, here in Tulsa. Could use a couple skilled carpenters, and some people wiling to help move and prepare building materials.

Due to the sensitive nature of what we are doing, we are only allowing people to know exactly what we are doing, on a ‘need to know’ basis only. There are enough wet blankets in this world to put out many fires, and like Nehemiah, I am busy with the work of God, and have no time to spend in the land of Ono!

Forgive! There is incredible power in it!

Got Authority?

shark forgive
John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Love these verses! May they jump off the pages and become Rhema, alive, to you!

Hear Jesus, speaking as He always does, like in Isaiah 6, ‘Whom Shall I send?’ saying to you: Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Now, in the Holy Spirit, led of the Holy Spirit, I give you authority, as my regent, my ambassador, to forgive sins! Act as I would act, do as I would do! Speak truth, work miracles, show mercy, forgive!
Authority

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world

This verse has changed my life, and I have seen many, many miracles, as I have proclaimed to people, to territories, under the anointing of the Spirit: Jesus forgives you, so I forgive you! I release the power of His forgiveness and redemption into your life, or the life of this region.

As I have done this, God has performed tremendous acts of power for His glory!

Now, you go and do likewise!

Let’s Pray:
‘Father, I receive the Holy Spirit today. Fresh breath of God, wind of Heaven, breath upon me, renew, empower, equip, flow through me, afresh and anew today. Father, lead me to those people and places that need your forgiveness today, and may they receive it, through the power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, operating through me. Amen!

The Third voice

There is the voice of God, the Holy Spirit, where He speaks to people as only He can. His children hear, obey, and proclaim what He speaks, and He backs up His Word with mighty acts from heaven.

Satan knows this well, so he must destroy the Word, the person, or the credibility of the person who has authentically heard God.

In Eve’s life, the serpant came to the woman, and said, ‘Has God really said?”

Immediately, the enemy caused the woman to doubt, to question her husband, and her husbands clear command from the Lord.

The rest is history. She ate of the fruit. She talked her husband into eating of the fruit, and he chose to listen to his wife instead of God. Therein is wisdom husbands, know when to listen to your wife, and when to say, NO, as for me and my house, we shall serve the LORD!

Well, humanity was plunged into darkness that day, and we have all be born into, and born out of Adam’s sin by the blood of Jesus.

Yet, like Adam, our life is designed to affect multitudes for good, for the kingdom of God. As we grow in the Word of God, and learn to hear clearly the voice of God, and to search the Scriptures to ensure we are hearing accurately, there comes kairos moments in the life of a man or a woman of God, where God reveals Himself in glory, and we know, but we know what we must do.

Then comes the test of time, as the onslaught of hell and hellish circumstances threaten to overwhelm the loving heart trying to honestly obey God. Satan screams to the mind and the emotions, the same old lie, ‘Has God really said?’, then brings his regular arsenal of weapons to bear on the holy life, and pure heart. His ABC’s are accusation, blame and criticism, and his whispering campaign begins in the lives of those around us. Gentle insinuations, allegations, innuendoes, designed to malign the character of the saint trying to obey God.

Like Adam, multitudes depend upon our obedience to God, and purity of heart, our courage to uncompromisingly obey. Satan knows this, and as we press into Jesus and His Word, he begins to speak to others around us, to try and subvert the clarity of the call, with worldly wisdom, and the counsel of religious men. Their counsel sounds so wise, so Biblical, yet our heart screams!

There are so many examples in the Scripture where the multitudes were saying one thing, claiming it to be God, where God was speaking the opposite. Micaiah in 2 Chron 18, and 1 Kings 22, actually had a clear revelation of the throne of God, and spoke a pure word from God, and got hit and persecuted for it, when 400 supposed prophets of God spoke the exact opposite (1 Chon 18:5).

So it has been my experience over the years. God speaks to an individual, and if we are lucky, to the other key people involved in what He has called us to do, then for whatever reason, many good Christian people, are left in the dark. They try to reason what I have heard through the Scriptures, but is they are wise, they say, “Unless the Lord reveal it to me, I have no way to judge what has been said.”.

Most though, are not humble enough of heart to take this stance, so they join the 400 false prophets, and declare Scriptures, and proclaim ‘Thus saith the Lord!” when He has not spoken.

I am slowly learning, to not cast my pearls before swine, and to reveal what God has told me, no matter how passionately it was spoken me of heaven, unless He shows me to reveal it.

swine

My biggest error over the years, has been talking to much. Sharing precious revelations from the Lord, that were for me, or a select few I was called to walk with during different seasons of my life and ministry.

I heard Mike Murdoch make the statement, ‘All godly relationships are destroyed by the counsel of a third voice.’, and he went on to explain how godly people’s lives are destroyed by counsel of one usually close to us. One who often cares deeply about us, but who has not heard God, nor understood fully the direction God has us to walk.

Remember Peter and Jesus? Peter had just experienced an authentic revelation from heaven that Jesus was the Son of God, the Messiah. Jesus praised Him, then went on to explain to Peter a difficult thing that must come to pass in His life. He told his disciples to keep secret who He was for a season and look what happened.

Matt 16: 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

21 ¶ From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

Peter loved Jesus, and wished Him no harm. He wanted to protect His master from pain, yet look at Jesus response.

23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Jesus rebuked Peter, and determined to obey His Father, and head for the cross.

So it has been with often good friendships and sometimes even family relationships from people who honestly love me and want to protect me from pain and hardship.

Chris, don’t do that, you’ll lose everything you have worked for.

Were they right? In a sense, yes. I laid down my education, my career, my athletic career, and every earthly desire to follow Jesus, to the ends of the earth.

These people were not evil people, many of them were Christians who honestly cared for me, but they did not know nor understand what the Spirit of God was saying to me, and I had to go and embrace my own personal cross, in obedience to Him.

Look at Paul in Acts. God had told him to go preach in Jerusalem, and a prophet Agabus, confronted him with the hardships he would face there.

Paul shipwrecked

Ac 19:21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

Ac 20:16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

Ac 20:22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

Ac 21:4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

Ac 21:11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

Ac 21:12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

Ac 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Interesting thought in the life of Paul! I believe Paul heard God to go to Jerusalem, and was on His way. In Acts 21, the Holy Ghost sent disciples to warn Paul not to go to Jerusalem, yet Paul determined to go anyway. Did he miss God here? I don’t think so, and here’s why I believe that. Paul continues on, and Agabus the prophet confronts Paul and shows him what pain will welcome him in Jerusalem, but here Paul’s response:

Ac 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

The prophet was right. Paul was bound, beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, yet testified in both Jerusalem and Rome, that the whole earth might hear the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul NT

Obviously God thought much of Paul’s life, allowing much of the New Testament to be written by him, and according to Jesse Duplantis in his trip to heaven, accorded a place among the 12 apostles of the Lamb in heaven.

So it is with me. I am in a difficult season of life, transitioning again at divine command, again seeing the multitudes, and being moved with compassion towards the nations.

All of what I have described here has happened or is happening in my life, yet my face is set like flint upon the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. It is a time of radical intimacy with Jesus through the Holy Spirit, and a time of great consternation for those close friends around me, who know me, care about me, and yet do not have the revelation from heaven I have been given specifically for me to obey personally. His love is a radical thing, and heaven is real! Like Jesus, like Paul, I must press forward in the call of God, no matter how persecuted, misunderstood, or misrepresented others have been to me. In light of eternity, only one thing matters: “Did you do what I asked you to do?”

need1

Takes courage, but my prayer for you is the same as for me.

“Father, show me your perfect will for my life, without compromise, and give me the courage to obey it, no matter the cost. Amen”
