Got Storms? – Look Up! He is Walking towards you!

Live and love again

Read this verse, and thought about you my friend:

Matt 14: 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

walk-on-the-water
We are like these disciples sometimes: when we find ourselves in trouble, and cry out to God, and He actually shows up in power, many of us get scared of the very one who has come to deliver us.

It has been said: If you live in a graveyard too long you stop crying when someone dies.

heartbreak
I remember after the death of a family member, how I hurt. I had spent months, perhaps years in fervent prayer for their healing, but they died anyway. Inside my heart, I simply gave up. I attended one of myriad conferences down at what was then known as ‘The Toronto Blessing’, and like many times, went for prayer and ended up knocked down on the carpet, as several pastors gently laid hands upon me and were praying in the Holy Spirit. I whispered to the Lord, ‘Lord, I hurt…My heart feels like a stone inside of me” Suddenly, in a vision, Jesus was kneeling beside the pastors that were praying for me looking at me with deep, intense, love. I asked Him, Lord, “Why will you not heal my heart?”
Jesus wept
Suddenly His countenance changed, and He was angry, and He said: ‘Because you will not let me!”, and I suddenly saw it. I had walled Him, and everyone else out of my heart, a prisoner of my own pain. It hurt too much.

Yet He knew! He cared, and like a dam breaking, I began to shake and sob and say, ‘Lord, I’m sorry, it hurts”, and like a rush, His power shattered the dam, and I wept until I could weep no more. Felt like pus being drained from a wound, but the pressure, the pain, was gone. My grief, sorrow, heartache, and ‘clinical hardness’ of heart were washed away. It was such a deep experience, that I went home after the meeting, and slept 12 hours.

Yet, the burden was lifted, I was free to love, to live again!

free to love
Maybe you are right there. Something horrible happened in life, and perhaps for years, you compartmentalized God, keeping Him out of the most painful areas of your life, because it simply hurts too much.

He is coming to you, over the wind and the waves….

‘Jesus, do for them, what you did for me. Give them the courage to receive your love, your touch, your savage inbreaking of your love. Take out the bitterness, the hardness, the trauma, and break down the walls so that we can live and love again, Amen’

A Call to Fast and pray…

Fasting, a Christian discipline –

fast

Each year, as I seek the Lord, there comes a time, when I deliberate fast and pray – a time to let go of agendas, offences, even daily disciplines, that are not bearing any fruit in my life. Time to reflect, receive fresh vision and direction, to replenish, and then launch out again in His plan and destiny of my life. Hear the words of Jesus:

MATTHEW 6:16-18

  1. Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
  2. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
  3. That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.,

As a Rhema Graduate, I have heard Kenneth E Hagin teach on many subjects, but his book, ‘A Common Sense Guide to Fasting’ has been a great help to me over the years.. I encourage you to read it: http://www.rhema.org/store/a-commonsense-guide-to-fasting-book.html

fasting Kenneth

As I prepare to do my particular yearly fast of ‘no pleasant food’, I am encouraged by this quote from brother Hagins book:

“Remember how Daniel fasted 21 days? He ate no “pleasant bread.” We need to realize there is more than one way to fast. Daniel didn’t eat anything he wanted, but he did eat a little something. That is harder to do sometimes.

You see, it’s a matter of keeping the flesh under; keeping the body under and not letting it dominate you. You dominate it instead.

If you wanted to go a step further, you could fast things other than food. You might say, “Now, Lord, I’m going to leave off watching television and spend that time praying.” (Daniel said he gave up eating pleasant bread. So why wouldn’t it be all right to leave off other things that might be pleasant to us?)

A well-known evangelist when he was pastoring decided to give God 10 percent of his time in prayer. He began to pray at night after his family was in bed. He prayed two hours and 40 minutes each night. To do that he had to sacrifice his television time. God has given him an internationally known ministry.”

Over the years, I have been drawn repeatedly back to these verses of Scripture as I fast:

fast 58

Isaiah 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.

Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

So, for the record, I am going to go through these verses for you, and explain the ways I have used them in my own particular journey of faith:

Isaiah 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

As I fast and pray, I recognize that we have spiritual enemies that if not directly preventing our success, always try to at least contain us in some measure to their control. I am believing for God Almighty to break their bands of wickedness, to remove their heavy burdens, to let me go free from all demonic oppression, and oppression by ungodly people. A yoke is something you harness an animal by. Forces that are driving and prodding me into pathways other than the glorious liberty of the Spirit of God, must go, be broken, by the power of Jesus!

break curse

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

These verses are a ‘heart check’ for me. I should already, always, continually be feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, caring for those less fortunate. Yet, here I check myself as to how well I am actually doing this as a man of God. Do I have clothes I can give away? Can I provide shelter for someone who can never repay me? Am I actually living and walking in the love of God?

‘and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?’

In the Amplified Bible it says:

‘and that you hide not yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood?’

Here is where the rubber meets the road. How well am I exemplifying the love of Jesus to my own family members? ,

Fasting is hard on our pride and selfish natures – seems it is easier to love stangers, than family members who are not living the way WE think they should. God loves them, and if we are to represent Him, we must too, no matter what they have done, or are doing…. Maybe a simple telephone call, card, or birthday gift will break the ice on relational walls of bitterness, grudges held generationally – rationalized because: ‘that’s just the way we are’” Nope, there is a cross for our sin, and our lack of love towards family, is one that must die….We are called to love…

fast1

Back in college, I took a couple courses in computer programming. We would write modules in Pascal (I know, for all you ‘C++’ programmers it is a dinosaur), where we would tell the computer  IF (this condition is met), THEN (this must happen). In the previous verses, God was telling us to DO certain things in both prayer, in attitude, and action.

IF we do these things, then we qualify for THEN He will do these things:

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.

Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.

The true purpose of fasting is to seek God, who is life, love, purity, power, strength, purpose, direction, power, holiness, healing and prosperity. God is love!

Light speaks of revelation to me: Psalm 119:130

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Here we see revelation being imparted, healing from the throne of God, justification before our enemies, the glory of God deposited in our lives, and intimacy, the thing we desperately need, the innermost needs of our heart met by the Lord Himself – we call, and He answers! Sometimes the greatest miracle in life, is to be granted supernatural understanding of a situation!

Back to another ‘IF’

If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity.

My translation? Stop gossiping, wasting your precious conversations with words empty of substance and power, judging, pointing fingers at others – your life has never been about them anyway, it’s about you and Jesus! Change your words, change your life – SPEAK THE WORD OF GOD! Words of power!

10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul;

fast v10

In my life: ‘drawing out my soul to the hungry’ is to pour my love out in teaching, preaching, encouraging, instructing people with the bread of life, the Word of God. People are hungry for love, the greatest need of all, the only thing that will meet the true hunger of every heart, is Jesus! He will heal the afflicted soul! Yes, we work and supply physical food, but what about loving and injecting life into our particular world? Money will not do this, unless used in love to alleviate human suffering, and meet legitimate needs…If we do these things

THEN

then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

Much can be said here, but this speaks of the result of our work and effort. Jesus walks with us, and does signs, wonders and miracles, and others lives are changed. They catch the vision, and move in His love and power, and the result of their work is foundations of many generations being raised up, and we become repairers of the breach, restorers of the way, the one true path, the pathways of purpose, the straight and narrow path, the walk of faith with Jesus! Notice here that it is those whose lives we touch that build up the waste places, raising up the foundations of many generations…

and make fat thy bones:

These simple words have great depth and meaning. Medically, we know that in the marrow of our bones, is where our blood cells are actually produced. Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: Seems that as we fast, God does a deep, deep work in our bodies, strengthening our bone marrow, to infuse us with  His life.

fast v11

Isaiah 58:11 (CJB)

11 Adonai will always guide you; he will satisfy your needs in the desert, he will renew the strength in your limbs;

Isaiah 58:11 (NIRV)

11 I will always guide you.     I will satisfy your needs in a land baked by the sun.     I will make you stronger.

Isaiah 58:11 (NLT)

11 The Lord will guide you continually,     giving you water when you are dry     and restoring your strength.

Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)

11 The Lord will guide you always;     he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land     and will strengthen your frame.

One day when I was fasting, struggling to become stronger in my weight training program, these words jumped off the page at me: and will strengthen your frame.

I saw that by fasting, I could literally become physically stronger.

Check this out:

Yeshayah 58:11 (OJB)

11 And Hashem shall guide thee tamid, and satisfy thy nefesh in drought, and strengthen thy atzmot; and thou shalt be like a gan raveh (well-watered garden), and like a motzah mayim (spring of water), whose mayim fail not.

I am no Hebrew Scholar, but I needed to know what ‘atzmot’ was.

Best definition I found is the one by Dr. Rachel Adelman, Jewish scholar.

She states: atzmot – Opening the Ibn Shoshan dictionary to the word ‘atzma’ut, one finds the following definition: “ability to stand on one’s own; independence from others; autonomy.”

I remember some years ago reading a Body building article, as I was (and still am) trying to combine a decent cardio fitness routine, with strength training. In the article, the author spoke about how, in heavy lifting, you literally tore the deep interskelatal muscles that attached to your bones, and that it was these deep muscle tissues that allowed us to handle heavy weights…

‘I will strengthen your frame!’

13 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
14 then you will find your joy in the Lord,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

I notice again my old computer training kicking in again: IF…THEN.

If we serve God, THEN He will give us joy, He will give us victory.

Psalm 92:13 (NIV) 13 planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.

In short, FAST IN FAITH!

Faith only comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. God is love, and He is not looking for a hunger strike from you and I, but as always, that we draw near to Him, meet with Him, and let Him direct our lives for good.

Struggling to make something happen?

Healing of Trauma, Memories, Abuse, and Atrocities

Pr 16:6  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Some years ago, I read a book called ‘Healing the Damaged Emotions’ by a man named David Seemans. He was talking about the affect that trauma and deep sin had on a person, and how Jesus, set the person free. Many of us have been affected by horrible atrocities, I pray Holy Spirit make this alive today, and set you free!

John 21:15 ¶  So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16  He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17  He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

memories feed my sheep

We recall that Peter had deliberately denied Jesus three times, and the third time, had called down curses upon himself. Peter at that point in his life had actually denied the Lord,  but we are to see, the Lord did not deny him.

I believe that God was interested in not only meeting with Peter, but in restoring Him. Just sweeping Peter’s denial under the rug, would not have strengthened Peter, and restored his confidence in himself and the Lord.

Here’s what I believe happened that day:

memories beach

Jesus had cooked a breakfast for the boys on the beach, and was with them in His love and glory. He had risen from the dead, and He loved them. These were His leaders, that He was about to use to build His glorious church upon. Peter, was about to become a bold apostle, but first he needed to be restored, in his emotions and memories, or satan would surely find a moment of fatigue or weakness, to beat him up for his failure and betrayal of the Lord, and divert him from providing the strength needed to keep the church moving forward with clear direction.

Jesus comes to Peter, and stands before Him in His love, power, and glory, and gently says to Peter: ‘Do you love me?’ At that moment, I believe Holy Spirit brought to Peters rememberance, the memory of the first time he denied Jesus.

Let’s look at Marks account in Mark 14:66 ¶  And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

67  And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

68  But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.

69  And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.

70  And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

71  But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

72  And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

On a dark, horrible night, not too long before, in the last time Peter saw Jesus alive, there was another fire, that Peter warmed his hands at. In the cold darkness, Peter denied His Lord.

Now, we have Jesus, standing before Him, loving him, in front of another fire: A warming fire, in the light of day, filled with joy, laughter, and loving fellowship.

It has been said by people that have faced horrible atrocities, or who have committed them, that simple circumstances can trigger memories deep within ones subconscious.

I remember the time I toured the prayer tower at Oral Roberts University, and they had a walk through story of Oral Roberts life depicted. As we walked through, the presence of the Holy Spirit was very evident, and in our tour group was an older couple in their seventies. At the end of the tour, they prayed for us to receive Jesus, and this older gentleman turned to me, and said, ‘Son, what are you going to do with your life?” I said, “I am going to preach the gospel around the world!” He began to explain:

“Do you think there is any hope for me? I told him that Jesus loved him, and that He had only died for sinners. All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that Jesus would forgive him, no matter what he had done.

He went on to tell me of the horror of Viet Nam, how as a young man, they had served there, and how he initially cared deeply about the Vietnamese people. When they went in to occupy a village of the Viet Cong, US soldiers would save their chocolate from their rations, and would give it to the children of the village, and would love on them. The enemy figured out this soft spot in the US troops, so began sending children out to meet the troops, strapped with grenades. This man saw a company of his friends blown up by one of these child suicide bombers. New orders came from his commanding officer, when they occupied a village, shoot everything that moved. They were in the jungle, and they were scared. Yet, they followed orders, and killed many women and children.

Now, this man had been back in the US, for over 30 years. His children had grown, and he would have them over for family dinners on holidays. Yet, sometimes, his grandchildren, would come toward him, with arms raised, wanting to be held, and he would black out, and after he was restrained, would discover that he had gone into a killing rage, and had broken up furniture, punched holes in walls, and did not remember doing it. He looked at me with tears in his eyes, and said, ‘Is there any hope for me? When I see my grandbabies, I still remember the horror of killing all those little children in Viet Nam, that would come out of the village, arms raised, expecting chocolate.”

memories combat trauma

I felt like I had been sucker punched at the moment, with the wind knocked out of me, but I did manage to squeak out a prayer, and to pray for the man.

I was deeply troubled by this, and sought the Lord, for some time. Began to do a Bible study, on the English word, ‘mind’, trying to find something in the Word of God, that would help this man.

Seems there are twelve different Greek roots, for the one English word we call ‘mind’. Many refer to ‘sub conscious reasoning’s’, or ‘thoughts and intents of the heart.’

The Lord graciously gave me:

Hebrews 9:14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

In the Old Testament, the blood of bulls and animals could provide an offering for the outward punishment for sins, in Jesus, His blood will cleanse not only the outward affects of sin, but even our deepest memories, reasonings, and trauma’s. I prayed for the man, and I know God set him free.

memories warrior

Some have said, well if someone kills a child, or is a pedophile, did not Jesus Himself say:

Mr 9:42  And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

I am not making light of sin, just making much of the cross of Jesus. As a father, if someone was to attempt to hurt one of my children, or they were attacked by a pedophile, I would kill them, and rid the earth of them.

Yet, God is greater than me, far, far greater.

King David committed genocide, and killed men, women, and children in his raids, when he was running from Saul.

1Sa 27:9  And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.

1Sa 27:11  And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.

I believe there were earthly consequences to David’s actions:

1Ch 28:3  But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.

He didn’t get to build the temple. Yet, he found eternal life, and lives forever with God in heaven.

Yet, at the end of his life, God said:

Acts 13:22  And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

memories after gods heart

I take great comfort in this verse. If God can forgive David for genocide, murder, adultery, and still use him, then there is hope for any of us. Jesus died upon the cross for all sin, not just the socially acceptable ones.

In light of eternity, this is the way you can be remembered, a man after God’s own heart!

Though I have never killed anyone, God has done a deep work in my life, and as painful as the journey has been, I would do it all over again, to experience the wonderful peace of mind that I presently experience. No more nightmares, depressions, fits of rage, because the very traumas, wounds, and abuse that caused that behavior have been healed by the power of God.

I think about it this way: When we accept Jesus, and become born-again, He literally comes to live inside of us, and old things pass away, all things become new. We now have the power of almighty God living on the inside of us, to overcome sin, and our sinful tendencies. The best illustration of this is of a roaring lion: When I first became a Christian, that roaring lion of sinful desire got placed in a cage, and could no longer control my life. He still roared, but he was in a cage, and I did not have to yield to his tyranny, the bars of the Word of God and Holy Spirit, gave me grace and power to not sin! Yet, the desires were still there, warring against my will, trying to get me to sin.

As I walked with God, and Holy Spirit has gone deep within my soul, and grown fruit of the spirit within, there came days of victory in my life, where the lions of various sinful desires got killed. The cage was no longer needed, because, I was free!

Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool

Let’s get back to Jesus restoring Peter:

I believe that we can only receive truth that sets free, in the light of His love.

Pr 16:6  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Here we have a shameful Peter, confronted by our loving Jesus.

He knew what Peter did, He was there.

He knows what you have done too, He was there, and saw it all.

Peter, do you love me? I believe at that instant, Holy Spirit brought Peter back to the memory of the night of Jesus betrayal. The fire, being the element Jesus used to trigger Peters memory. Peter, hung his head and said, ‘Lord, you know that I love you.” I believe a miracle occurred in that instant, that Holy Spirit not only gave Peter a revelation of Jesus forgiveness and total acceptance of him, but that in that instance, Peter faced truth, and went free! He lifted off of Peter all the trauma, shame, guilt and fear. Jesus said, ‘Go feed my lambs.’

memories lambs

Yet, Jesus was not done yet. Again, he gently probed, Peter, do you love me? I believe the same dynamic occurred, and Holy Spirit brought to Peter’s remembrance, the second denial, and again, Peter received God’s love and truth, and in the mercy of God, Peter received truth, and this iniquity was purged from his mind.

Now, Jesus probes again. Not only bringing to Peters remembrance the third, most passionate denial, the one that should have got him killed, but probably, the very motives, reasonings, and thoughts inside of Peter, that caused him to do it.

Again, after Jesus says, ‘Do you love me?,’ Peter receives Jesus love, and affirmation, and again, Jesus commissions him to feed his sheep. Peter now had some more food for God’s sheep, at a very deep level.

This is why I could preach good news to the perpetrators of the genocide in Rwanda, boldly proclaiming over the radio to the one million people listening:

The people who sat (dwelt enveloped) in darkness have seen a great Light, and for those who sat in the land and shadow of death Light has dawned.
Yes, the darkness of genocide was great death in the land, but the glorious light of Jesus love has come to Rwanda, healing the deepest, sickest secrets, and bringing God’s grace to forgive the unforgivable. He who did it in Rwanda, will do it for you, too…

Now, let’s pray:

‘Father, you know us. You know what we do, but why we do it. Today, I am asking for a deep revelation of your love that will allow me to face and receive your forgiveness and healing for not only what happened to me, but more importantly, for the wicked, crazy things I have done. You were there when they happened Father, yet you love me. I have tried with drugs, sports, academic pursuits, and many other things to keep running from my pain and shame, but I am so, so, tired, and know not how to proceed. Reach deep within me, and set me free, and show me what you have for me to do for you. I see how my pain has blinded me from you, for oh so long. Take it away Father, make me whole, in Your name Lord Jesus and in the power of Your name, Amen.’

Give in faith!

1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown [the seed of] spiritual good among you, [is it too] much if we reap from your material benefits?

1 Corinthians 9:14 [On the same principle] the Lord directed that those who publish the good news (the Gospel) should live (get their maintenance) by the Gospel.

Paul goes on to say, that he did not use his position as a minister of the gospel to take up offerings, rather he worked, making tents, to support himself. You might notice here, that Paul was not married, nor did he have children. Family responsibilities take time, and just as you bust a move on your job to provide for your family, I work every bit as hard, doing this, faithful to the Lord in prayer and the ministry of His Word, to you.

I will never charge for this: it my responsibility to God, my calling. Freely I have been given, now, I freely give…

As you give, hear Holy Spirit what to give, and honestly expect God to reward you for your giving.

Matt 10: 41 He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.

I have ‘see through’ faith for you, in this: Gal 3: 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

I believe I have a responsibility before God to be like Jesus, in every offering I receive. I receive it with thanksgiving, just like Jesus did the little boys lunch.

Then, because I walk and live by faith according to the blessing of Abraham, I believe that God will take your seed sown, and multiply it, according to what the blessing of Abraham promises:

Genesis 22:17 In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies

It has been a joy to me, to see the hand of the living God act in the lives of those of you who have supported us this year!

Many have seen tremendous blessing come into your households, and for this we give thanks, and give Jesus all the glory!

Some years ago, I taught a 26 lesson course on the Lord’s prayer I entitled, ‘Foundations’. We talked about Spiritual Warfare, and knowing thy enemy.Yet remember the Lords prayer:

“‘Our Father who art in heaven in heaven, hallowed be your name,

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and glory, forever and ever.

We spent many weeks learning who our heavenly Father is. We spent several weeks discovering Redemptive Realities, and what your daily bread is, as a child of God.

Understanding forgiveness is something so fundamental, and important to your success in this life, that all of eternity is hinged upon it.

Our topic today is forgiveness. Without forgiveness, none of us can approach our holy God.

We understand that Jesus died to provide for us access to the throne of God, it is because we are forgiven, that we must forgive. Read with me if you will, this passage of Scripture.

(Mat 18:21 NIV)  Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”

(Mat 18:22 NIV)  Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

forgive 70 x 7

(Mat 18:23 NIV)  “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

Who is this king?

Why king Jesus of course.

(Mat 18:24 NIV)  As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him.

Like this man, all of us owe a debt to God, we can never repay. No, all the good works in the world will not cover up even one sin, for God can tolerate no evil in His presence. Yet, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from the deepest evil we can imagine.

(Mat 18:25 NIV)  Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

(Mat 18:26 NIV)  “The servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’

Each of us have found ourselves in this place. On our knees before the judge of all judges, the king of all kings, pleading for our very life. Asking for mercy, simply because we suspect He is a good God, that He might forgive us.

forgive from Jesus

(Mat 18:27 NIV)  The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

Sure enough, we see the heart of our loving savior and merciful lord here. Each of us have found mercy in the sight of our God, and had our sins forgiven, and have been released from every debt.

Whom God has justified, what man shall condemn?

(Mat 18:28 NIV)  “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

Yet, look at the behaviour of this wicked servant. He did not understand the magnitude of what had been done for him. His lord had forgiven him, as an act of benevolence unparalleled in all of history. This man had been forgiven, yet had not forgiven himself yet. He did not grasp the purpose of his being forgiven. Having received mercy, we are to show mercy for it is written:

(Mat 5:7 NIV)  Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Yet, how many of us are like this man, having obtained mercy from God, yet unable to let go those who owe us something. Especially if there is money involved. We cannot serve God and money. Let’s continue reading this story.

(Mat 18:29 NIV)  “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.’

(Mat 18:30 NIV)  “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.

(Mat 18:31 NIV)  When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.

Notice here who told on this wicked servant. Other servants. When a Christian chooses to sin, other Christians are well within their rights to take their case before God, our heavenly king.

(Mat 18:32 NIV)  “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.

(Mat 18:33 NIV)  Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’

(Mat 18:34 NIV)  In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

I want you to see this. Unforgiveness will produce torment in your life. When you choose not to forgive, you go into bondage. You get turned over to the tormenters.

(Mat 18:35 NIV)  “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.”

You must see this, not only did this wicked servant get delivered over to the torturers because of his unwillingness to forgive another, but it looks like the man who owed him also went with him. Your unforgiveness not only will put you in bondage, but puts the one you hate into bondage with you.

If they get right with God, they will go free, but you will stay in torment. Why,? Because your unforgiveness is a sin against God, and God will hold you accountable for it.

In fact, you can eventually end up in hell over it.

forgive commanded

Let reread this passage from Matt 6, where Jesus gives us the Lord’s prayer.

9  “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

We are commanded to forgive others. If we will not, God will not forgive us. Forgiveness is an act of our will. Not matter what they did to you, you must obey God and forgive them. God will deal with them on your behalf, only after you forgive.

Just to Show you how important forgiveness is to God, I’ve listed some verses on it below.

Forgiveness:

(Mat 26:28 NIV)  This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

To forgive you cost Jesus His very blood.

(Luke 1:77 NIV)  to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,

(Luke 24:47 NIV)  and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

(Acts 2:38 NIV)  Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

It is only after you are forgiven, that you can receive the Holy Spirit.

(Acts 5:31 NIV)  God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

(Acts 10:43 NIV)  All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

(Acts 13:38 NIV)  “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.

(Acts 26:18 NIV)  to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
(Eph 1:7 NIV)  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

(Col 1:14 NIV)  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

(Heb 9:22 NIV)  In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Luke 23:34  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

forgive them for they know not

There is no other religion on the face of the planet that can give the guarantee Jesus gives. If we accept His sacrifice on the cross on our behalf, we are forgiven of our sins, before a Holy God.

Notice that these verses above deal mainly with our forgiveness before God. Yet, He commands us to forgive.

Col 3:13  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

forgive Col 3

Matt 6,

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

14  For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

  • But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Mark 11

22  “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.

23  “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

24  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

  • And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

We believe the faith message on purpose. Yet, faith worketh by love. Forgiveness is part of our love walk. This verse is standard faith food. Notice that our unforgiveness will hinder God from answering our prayers.

Luke 6

37  “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

  • Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Luke 17:1  Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come.

2  It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

3  So watch yourselves. “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.

4  If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.”

5  The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

  • He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.

Bitter-Root Judgements and Expectancies

What you believe determines what you have, and who you are. If you, deep within yourself, know God loves you, then you believe that something good is going to happen to you, and you are an optimist. These people are great to be around because no matter what happens, they are always looking for a solution, and finding it. Yet, the negative is also true, if you, deep down, believe you are a nothing, a nobody, and that bad things are always happening to you, well, except for the grace of God, that’s all you will ever experience in life. Yet  “the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Heb 4:12. The good news is that God does heart surgery on us to change the way we view ourselves, and the way we think.

Let’s look for a minute on how these negative thought patterns can control us. Let’s say you had a rough childhood, and no matter how hard you tried, people bigger than you beat you up, or mistreated you. If you don’t know God, you don’t know enough to forgive them, and to “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”, as Jesus teaches us in Matt 5:44. So, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, this pattern develops in your life. People hurt you. You judge them, and the very thing you judge them for begins to come back upon you for it is written, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Matt 7:1. This is not some theological premise, but rather, spiritual law. When you judge another, the judgement you give them comes back on you. The problem is, if the process of them hurting you goes on long enough, you become bitter, and deep within yourself you develop what is called a bitter-root expectancy. Rage. That is why the Scripture says: “ See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many” Heb 12:15. This root within you expects the worst to happen to you, often subconsciously. Well, these are easy to discover in your life, because you simply have to look at the patterns of negative behavior that seem to continue. The way of escape is the same. Forgive all those that have hurt you, and decide to kill this negative cycle in your life. How? By putting it to death on the cross with Jesus. When He died, it died, and you get to go free. Heart surgery. Free on the inside.

Ex 15:23  And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. (Marah means ‘bitter’ in Hebrew)

forgive Marah

24  And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

25  And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

26  And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

See this in the Old Testament. They came to a place of bitter waters. Moses cried out to God for help. God showed him a tree ( a shadow and type of the cross), that made bitter waters sweet, and God revealed Himself here as Jehovah Rapha, the Great Physician, the Lord that healeth us. God cares about the pain people inflicted on you, but you have only one choice as a Christian, and that is to get healed.

Jesus did it, as a man operating in the authority of a man under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, in his earthly ministry.

You can too. Why? Priests in the Old Testament offered up sacrifices for sins.

(1 Pet 2:9 NIV)  But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

It is part of the high priestly ministry of Jesus, and you are part of his body, an ambassador, acting on his behalf in the earth. You act like he would act if He were here in the flesh. Would He forgive? So should you, for He has given you legal authority to act on His behalf. As He was, so are we in the earth.

Luke 5

17  One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick.

18  Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.

19  When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.

20  When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

21  The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

22  Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

23  Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?

24  But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . .” He said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”

25  Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.

  • Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”

There will be times in our lives that we will ask God to forgive people their sins, and He will hear, and will forgive them on our account.

Today, I give you a homework assignment (5 Questions)

  1. Come clean with God. Ask Him to show you all the things you’ve done that offend him, and ask Him to forgive you.
forgive scarlet2.         Come clean with others. Ask God to show you all the people who have hurt you, and forgive them. I had to make a 21 page list, forgive them, then burn the list
3.          Come clean with yourself. Ask God to show you all the areas of your life where you are beating yourself up, and forgive yourself
4.      Ask God to show you any bitter-root judgements and expectancies you have made, and that are still operating in your life. By faith, kill them, by placing them on the cross where Jesus died for you. If they seek to operate again in your life, recognize them, and stand against them. Determine to be the best person you can possibly be.
  1. Ask God to show you other people that are caught in this trap, and pray for them. There will be healing in it for you. (Job 42:10 NIV) After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before.

  • But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

In the KJV this verse says the Holy Spirit will bring all things to you remembrance that I have taught you.

God will help you with this.

Be Healed – Jesus wants you strong!

Thousands of people have been healed by God, simply listening to these messages. Jesus loves you, and wants you well….

Be Healed!

Some Like to Read, some like to listen:

Many of you know my testimony, of how I was healed of epilepsy when I was 15 years old at a charismatic healing service, and able to obtain my driver’s license.

Many of you know of my more recent gradual healing from a stroke and high blood pressure…

Many more know of the divine healing ministry granted to me by the Lord Jesus Christ, how, after losing eight of my family members to various sicknesses and diseases, I went on a 40 day fast, one meal/day, and prayed almost day and night for answers, as to why the ministry of divine healing appeared to be sometimes hit and miss.

How God brought me from my home country Canada, to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to sit at the feet of Kenneth E. Hagin, and attend both Rhema Bible Training Center, but to also sit in healing school for a year and a half, and actually see Jesus heal the sick…

During this time, the Lord commissioned me to produce two healing cassettes specifically to be listened to by those in intensive or palliative care, gentle soothing words from heaven, set to instrumental praise from one of the most anointed and gifted pianists in the world, Dino.

Dino has graciously given me permission to distribute them free of charge to anyone requiring healing, and as I have done this over the years, thousands of people have been healed by the power of God!

Seven Reasons Why You Should be Healed Today:

heal

1. Creation and Heaven reveal the nature of God.

When we read the Genesis account, on what day did God create sickness? He didn’t, it is the result of the fall of man. As John Alexander Dowie put it, sickness is the foul offspring of mother sin, and father Satan. It is not your friend, but an enemy to be destroyed.

In Heaven there is no sickness, for that is where God dwells. In Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Now, we are children of the king, and Jesus is Lord right? We claim to serve Him, so what did he teach us to pray. Matt 6:9 ¶ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

If we are to pray for the will of God here in the earth, as it is in heaven. Obviously, we are to pray for healing, for there is no sickness, death, sorrow or pain there.

What is the first reason that you should be healed today? The next verse in the Lords prayer or Our Father.

11 Give us this day our daily bread. Well, healing is the children’s bread, and today is the day to receive it.

In Matthew 15:26 Jesus spoke to a woman who came to him for healing for her daughter. He said “But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.” What was he talking about here? Healing. You are a child of God if you have accepted Jesus sacrifice for you on the cross. Healing is your bread.

2. Now, lets look at the second reason you should be healed today.

God healed people in the Old Testament.

Exodus 23:25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

heal exodus

Notice that if a person were to serve God under the Old Covenant, God promised to take sickness away from them. Notice here that this is not just healing but also an agreement between God and His people of divine health, of literally taking sickness away from the midst of His people. Hebrews 8:6 speaking of Jesus states “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” If God promised to take sickness away from the midst of His people in the Old Covenant. How much more will He do for you today because of the agreement He made with Jesus.

He healed wonderfully in the Old Testament, Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. Jehovah Rapha.

The children of Israel knew it to be true, for God had delivered them from every physical ailment miraculously when he gave them the covenant of Passover. We don’t have time to really go into detail on Exodus 12, and Christ’s fulfillment of this verse, yet for you Bible scholars jot down these verses: Ex 12, Ps 105:37, 1Cor 11:32 onward. Know this though, you all remember the story. Moses and the Ten Commandments, God had done ten judgments on Egypt, and then prepared His people to leave. On the last night came the final judgment upon the Egyptians, a death angel was to come, and strike dead every firstborn child in every house that did not have the blood of the lamb applied to its doorposts. A lamb without spot or blemish. Jesus. Yet, the body of that lamb was to be eaten wholly, with 11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S Passover.

God moved, judgment came, and great fear came upon the people. 35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:

36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

Psalms 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

Can I preach in this place a little bit? Think about this. Historians tell us that somewhere around 2 and a half million Israelites marched out of Egypt that night. A people sold into slavery, a whipped, beaten, broken people. Tell me how they could physically march out of Egypt after over four hundred years of slavery with all their children, flocks and herds. Think about it. Uncle Seth, you know the one with the limp he got from an Egyptian soldier, aunt Sarah blind in one eye from the beating she took. They killed the lamb, applied the blood, and then they ate the body of the lamb, with their belts on, shoes on, luggage packed, and what happened? All across the nation of Israel, God Himself visited His people, and suddenly Uncle Seth ain’t limping no more. Aunt Sarah can see! Every ache, pain, sickness, sniffle, cough and misery left, instantly healed by the power of God as they partook of the lamb, so that they marched out strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

and there was not one feeble person among their tribes!

So if God healed His people in the Old Testament, and we are under a better covenant based upon better promises, you should be healed today. In our communion ordinance we have it wrong. 1 Corinthians 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

What are we to discern in communion. The cup is representative of Jesus shed blood for the forgiveness of our sins. It prevents death and eternal separation from God. But what about the bread? It is representative of Jesus body. He took stripes in His body that our body be healed. The Israelite ate the body of the lamb, and they were healed.

1 Corinthians 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. What cause? The fact that Christian had not discerned the Lord’s body, by faith in the ordinance of communion. This verse says that because of this many of us are sick and some die prematurely, yet it ought not to be so. Seeing Christ in the Passover ceremony will produce healing.

3. The third reason you should be healed today because it is part of your redemption:

heal peter 2-24

Remember I taught you that you are the redeemed of the Lord, bought by His blood. That redemption means to be bought back to ones original state. Well, in light of the blood of Jesus, 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Jesus is not only your substitute for sin, but also for your sickness. Is 53:4 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (pain) yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Now this was a prophecy given by the prophet Isaiah that was literally fulfilled in the earthly ministry of Jesus.

Matt 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Yet, it didn’t end there. He died a cruel death on a Roman cross, beaten beyond human recognition so that you wouldn’t have to. He literally bore your sickness and disease on that cruel tree. Broken that you might be healed. Doctors tell us they have discovered there are 39 main categories of diseases in the earth today. Jesus took thirty-nine lashes, a lash for every disease known to man. He did it for you, His love, His life, His death, and His resurrection deserves a response.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

heal cross

He took your pain; therefore you have no more right to it. You are not your own. His love and sacrifice demand that you be healed today.

4. The fourth reason you should be healed today is that sickness is from the devil, and you are a child of God.

It is not your friend, something to be held up as a badge of courage, something allowed cultivating the sympathy of those around you. A twisted cry for love and pity from the heart of man, a perversion of what God longs to give. Perfect love that destroys your every fear. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The nature of Satan is to steal your strength, your health, and your life if you allow it. Yet, today there is an infusion of life from heaven for you for it is written:

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Healing is good. Healing is of God. Sickness is of the devil. God wants to break the yoke of oppression upon your life. 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

devil

I too am a son of God, and for this purpose am I hear to preach to you today. For I know my Lord, and He is not a liar like some of you. He always backs up his word with His power. There are more than two of us gathered here together in His name. He’s here, and He’s the same yesterday today and forever. He is Almighty, and He is here to Heal. He longs to manifest Himself, He’s simply been waiting for someone with enough guts to preach His word the way it is being preached today. With boldness.

Today is the day of salvation, Today is the day of your healing.

5. The fifth reason you should be healed today is because Jesus healed everyone who came to him during His earthly ministry, and He is the same yesterday today and forever.

heal2

Now there were some cases where He went to people, and they wouldn’t receive Him, and they were not healed. Yet, tonight, you have come to receive healing as an act of your will. He cannot fail.

Mark 5: 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Now if her faith made her whole, your faith will make you whole for God is no respecter of persons.

Some may say, Jesus did it for her but how do I know that He will do it for me?

Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Matthew 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

Luke 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

Luke 6:17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

Luke 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Matthew 8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

He still will. Today.

6. The sixth reason you should be healed today, is because God has committed healing to His church.

Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 ¶ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

heal James 5-15

I am an elder in the church. I am going to pray for you. I believe God’s Word. You will be healed, and don’t think there is some sin that will stop God’s healing power here tonight. If you have committed sins, they will be forgiven you.

7. The Final reason you should be healed today is that God’s Word is medicine.

Now this medicine is wonderful medicine. You cannot overdose, and it has wonderful side effects like wisdom, peace, prosperity and so on.

Pr 4:20 ¶ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Health = marpe: a medicine, a cure, a deliverance, a healing, a remedy, with the sense of soundness and wholeness.

Proverbs 12:18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

Proverbs 13:17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

heal medicine

Now some of you have been healed already, simply by sitting there. Why? Well, God kind of snuck up on you. While you have sat under His Word today. Something deep inside of you quietly decided to believe the word of God, and God acted according to your faith, and if you check you’ll discover that every symptom of pain, sickness and affliction has left your body as the Lord worked with me, gently walking all over the internet, performing His word, and healing the sick.

Yet, there are some of you who need the prayer of faith for you by the elders, and I am willing and available. Today is your day.

God’s gift of Divine Healing
Scriptural Prayers

I have simply copied the verse, and written a brief prayer afterwards, praying the verse back to our Father, who ever watches over His Word to perform it!

Psalms 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

Thank you Father that you are my healer.

Psalms 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

I thank you Father that you have sent your Word and healed me!

Isaiah 53: 4 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs,(sicknesses) and carried our sorrows(pains): yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Thank you Lord Jesus that you already took my sickness and pain on the cross. You were wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement I needed to obtain peace was already laid upon you, and by the stripes you took in your body, my body is healed. Father, I believe your Word, and thank you for performing it for me. Sickness, pain go, in Jesus name!

Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

No matter what doctors say, you are the great physician, Almighty God, my Creator. Heal me Lord.

Matthew 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
Matthew 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

I thank you Father that Jesus fulfilled all the law and the prophets. That He is the same yesterday, today and forever. As He healed in his earthly ministry, so He is my shepherd now, healing me today. Thank-you Jesus for healing me.

Matthew 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

Matthew 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matthew 15:30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

Matthew 19:2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

Matthew 21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

Luke 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

Luke 9:11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages)

Jesus, you healed everyone that had need of healing while you were on the earth. You said it was better that you go away, that the Holy Spirit be given, so that you can now heal anyone, anywhere that believes. I believe you are my healer. I receive your healing, now. I thank you that your Word and your spirit are working mightily in me effecting a healing and a cure.

Call for the elders of the church:

James 5: 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Father, I thank you for elders in the body of Christ who you have gifted with faith for my healing. Where I’ve sinned against you, please show me and forgive me. I set myself in agreement with the elders of my church, and by faith, I receive my healing.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Thank you Father that Jesus took stripes in His body that my body be healed.

Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Father, I speak to the mountains of sickness, disease, and pain and command them to move. I speak to poverty, debt and lack, and command these mountains move. I thank you for health, provision, and deliverance. In Jesus name, Amen.

Pr 4:20 ¶ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health(marpe) to all their flesh.
23. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Father, I pay careful attention to your Word, keeping it in the midst of my heart. I thank you that it is health, healing, a remedy, a deliverance, a medicine, soundness and wholeness to every part of my being. By faith I keep my heart with all diligence, trusting that that words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart are acceptable in your sight.

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Father, I believe your supernatural power is negating any ill effects from any medicine, additive in my food or drink, or toxin in the environment. If I have drank any deadly thing, it shall in no way hurt me. I have had hands laid upon me, and I am recovering. Thank you for it, in Jesus name.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Sickness is from the devil, healing is from God. I thank you that the same anointing of the Holy Spirit that was on Jesus in His early ministry, is upon Him and His body now. I believe Jesus is healing me, and that all of Satan’s oppression is broken off of my life. Satan go! I thank you that the anointing is working in me mightily, effecting a healing and a cure.

Blessing
It has been a joy to me, to see the hand of the living God act in the lives of those of you who have supported us this year!

Many have seen tremendous blessing come into your households, and for this we give thanks, and give Jesus all the glory!
