I imagine it will be gone pretty quickly.

Keep Smiling!

Jesus is Lord!

Jesus Was a Carpenter!

Jesus was a carpenter!

A Shittim tree in Israel

Ex 25:10 ¶ And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

I love Jesus, and for many years now, I have worked as a carpenter, providing interior finishes to luxury home. We have used alder, cedar, oak, and poplar regularly, with a couple of jobs in hemlock, mahogany, and cherry. Have seen some beautiful wormy oak and cypress over the years, and have come to love wood. Now this wood here, God overlaid with gold, and I guess gold is beautiful, but check out the grain pattern on the wood.

Typical of God, when He has something built for His glory, it is beautiful, through and through.

So is it with out lives: Outwardly, he adorns us with the oil of anointing, the presence of Holy Spirit, but like this construction project, He places beauty within us too, Christ In us, the hope of glory.

Let’s pray:
Father I thank you for your presence, and power that shows forth your glory in my life! Yet, I am grateful for the beautiful inward work of grace you have done in my life, the unique and beautiful tapestry of grace you have wisely and uniquely woven in my soul, as I have walked with you. I thank you and praise you for it Father, in your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen!’

Dirt Work!

Earth Moving Equipment:
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
Over the years I have been around some pretty good sized dirt crews, who move a whole lot of dirt, and dig some huge holes in the earth, that we fill with mud and steel (concrete and rebar), to lay foundations for some often pretty incredible structures.

As a carpenter, you read the prints to pull dimensions and depths, and then you go to work with a level and transit, laying out lines, and shooting depths and dimensions off a certified benchmark.
prints
Once those drag-lines, track-hoes, and power shovels get to digging, there is only one safe place on site, out of their way!

I might be working with them setting grade stakes, laying out lines, checking prints, and solving the myriad problems that occur in actual site conditions, that are not reflected on the prints (buried water, gas, electric, and telephone cables, that are not discovered by the dig inspectors),
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
yet generally, I need to let the operators work their magic, digging precisely, accurately, and setting grade with an intuitive almost sixth sense, as heavy equipment moves mountains at the hands of man…
mountain
This is the sense I got in this mornings prayer, as the Lord has my full, undivided attention. Like a seasoned craftsman, I am seeking Him for the clear design, the blueprints for the work and ministry He has set before me to build, the foundations being laid, deep in the soil of hearts of His people.

He has moved operators and laborers into place, and heavy earth-moving equipment is moving in the realm of the Spirit. Hearts are being tilled, blades are being driven deep into fallow ground, breaking through hard packed dirt, to lay foundations much stronger than any concrete or steel, used in natural construction.

1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
corner stone
We may have been raised a certain way, may have grown up in a strong church, might have a tremendous family heritage, that is the foundation of our lives, our faith, our belief system. As great as this may be, when God wants to take you higher than you have ever been, He often first takes you deeper than you have ever gone in Him.

Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
foundation
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

I believe, that just as God used His words to design and decree the universe, I can use mine, under His authority, to create a better world for me, my family, and you who are the recipients of my faith and prayer…

Like the craftsman who is laying out lines, so I am declaring, decreeing, and using my faith on purpose, to call those things that be not as though they already were.
And all around me, I see dirt flying!
dirt flying
Let’s Pray:
‘Father God, I come before you today, and ask that you reveal to me, the designs, plans, and material lists that you have for my life, calling, and ministry. May I carefully, with my words, on purpose, declare Your decrees, as You break ground, confront mindsets, and establish deep truths in the heart of Your people, to carry the call upon each of their lives who you have set apart for this great work, in Your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’

Legos are in the Bible!

Legos are in the Bible!
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith (3004 λεγω lego leg’-o )
unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith (3004 λεγω lego leg’-o ) shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

3004 λεγω lego leg’-o
In this verse, we discover that legos are in the Bible. The Words of God, spoken by Jesus, established in the earth, are the building blocks upon which we can build our lives.

In this verse, as we look at the word ‘say’ we see two Greek Words, legos, and epo. Epo is a spoken command, or a word of authority, that must be spoken, announcing and commissioning that which we believe to come to pass.

Yet, I like legos. Yep, in this house, they are everywhere, as the kids love to play with them and build amazingly cool creations our of them.

Notice the way this works: Jesus spoke Mark 11:22-24.

It’s in Red letters see?

In this, one of the the most famous faith Scriptures ever preached, we see something wonderfully incredible happen in the earth.

Let’s see if I can encapsulate in my own words, the way I explained it to my  son in family devotions.

Jesus, gave us Legos!

Legos in the kingdom of God, are not little plastic building blocks, like you play with.

Nope, they are building blocks though, invisible, but real.

They are words!
word blocks
Now in this verse Jesus teaches us about two kinds of words:

The first, is God’s Word, which He says, are legos.

Building blocks upon which we can build our lives. Now in order for these to work, we need to believe them, and speak them ourselves.
Chris Karen Walsh's photo.
How do we speak them? When we fave a mountain of difficulty in our lives, do we simply sing and say, ‘mountain, get outta my way?”.

Nope, we face that mountain square on, with the power of God backing us, and we command it to get out of our way.

Epo, the spoken command of faith. Like when the chicken coop caught fire, and you ran out to that blazing hay, and commanded the fire to go out, and it did! Fire department, couldn’t understand how a blazing fire, on dry hay went out.

Yep! Epo! You commanded it son, and while you stood before a raging blaze, God Almighty breathed upon those flames, and snuffed them out. You screamed at it, and commanded it to go out, in the name of Jesus. God had no choice, He had to back up his Word, with His power, because He cannot lie.

Yet, remember I said that Jesus gave us legos?

Look at verse 23. It says that after we believe and command something, with our words, we shall have whatever WE say! See how legos work in God’s kingdom son? They are very real building blocks, upon which we build our lives. Jesus gives us legos! And they are real, and just like you can build about anything out of legos if you have enough of them, you son, can build anything out of your life, depending upon what you believe from the Word of God, command, and speak into your future. So, use your words carefully, for they are what we build our lives upon.

Let’s Pray:
‘Father, thank You for Your Word. Legos! Wonderful building blocks to build my life upon. Open my eyes to see the wonders of You, in Your Word, and to carefully command and speak those things that need to be built in my life, and command and speak to those things that need to leave my life. In your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen’
