An Offering That Prevented Sickness!

An offering, that prevented sickness!

Ex 30:11 Then the Lord said to Moses, 12 “Whenever you take a census of the people of Israel, each man who is counted must pay a ransom for himself to the Lord. Then no plague will strike the people as you count them. 13 Each person who is counted must give a small piece of silver as a sacred offering to the Lord. (This payment is half a shekel,[a] based on the sanctuary shekel, which equals twenty gerahs.) 14 All who have reached their twentieth birthday must give this sacred offering to the Lord. 15 When this offering is given to the Lord to purify your lives, making you right with him,[b] the rich must not give more than the specified amount, and the poor must not give less. 16 Receive this ransom money from the Israelites, and use it for the care of the Tabernacle.[c] It will bring the Israelites to the Lord’s attention, and it will purify your lives.”
Now, it has been said, that you cannot buy a miracle from God, and we know that nothing can add to what Jesus blood, has already purchased for us. Yet, the Scripture also says that 1 Corinthians 10:11

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

That the Old Testament, is given to us as examples, of what not to do.

Under this covenant, we are in a living, vital relationship with God, through the Holy Spirit, living in His grace, yet make no mistake about it, Holy Spirit is still Holy, and God is a giver. Whenever, wherever, HE whispers to your heart to give, GIVE! He is love, and knows more than you. Sickness is from devils, and He can see their plots and plans against your life, your health, your money, your peace, and sometimes, He will lead you to sow seed, to worship Him with an offering, to prevent destruction from coming to you.

Notice here, it was required of both rich and poor. To the poor it may have seemed unfair, but God’s kingdom is not a democracy. Jesus is Lord, King of Kings, and to be obeyed.

Let’s Pray:
‘Father, I see here in Your word, an example of an offering required before your throne, and I purpose to obey. May I be faithful to do exactly what you have say, without rationalizing or reasoning it away. In Your name I pray Lord Jesus, Amen.’
