God has been visiting people long before the Bible was in the land…

In the Osage tradition, I read

“Each Day the Little Old Men would rise and slowly draw their buffalo robes about them, sing their rising songs, and say among themselves that they had now learned the will of Wah’Kon-Tah, and they would ask him to help them attain the order which he himself maintained in the sky….” From : (Mathews, John Joseph. The Osages, Children of the Middle Waters. Norman, Okla: University of Oklahoma Press, 1961)

This was before the white men, before the Bible came to the land, and it reminds me of:

Psalm 19[a]

The heavens declare the glory of God;     the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech;     night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words;     no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,     their words to the ends of the world.

The elders saw the hand and order of God in the heavens, and sought that order in the earth, in their day to day lives…

May we, like them seek our Creator, not in ignorance, but through Jesus, Messiah, the one true way..

Let’s Pray:

‘Father, this day, we seek You, and the order we see in Your Creation, into our lives. Through You Lord Jesus, may we truly know You, and Your specific plan for our lives, Amen”
